Way to go, Dubya.   ::)

We're spending billions in Iraq, billions in Afghanistan, billions in tax cuts that cater to the wealthy, so why not spend billions in space?  Screw the fact that schools around this country could use extra funds, and screw the fact that the amount of money that is being spent could put a great number of Americans through college.  Let's go to Mars...

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Jimmy Smits' height
« on: December 23, 2003, 03:48 PM »
Jimmy Smits is 6' 3".  How tall is the actor that played Rieekan?  I always thought Rieekan was the same height as Han/Harrison Ford (who is 6' 1").

Okay, here's the deal.  According to the official SW site, Rieekan is listed as being 1.8 meters tall, which makes him approximately 5' 11".  Rieekan (Bruce Boa) is 4 inches shorter than Bail (Jimmy Smits).  :)

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Vintage Style Figures from Hasbro???
« on: December 16, 2003, 09:25 AM »
Some of the reaction at Scum's vintage section is a bit snobbish...  The reactions to the announcement aren't the problem so much as the reactions of people who simply don't want to see "outsiders" enter their beloved vintage section.

They have a # there who seem to do nothing but look down on customizers and modern collectors (-Dane- in particular, whoever he is), and that's not cool.

Elitism in a hobby of nothing but "geeks & dorks" is like saying you're the best urinal cake in the entire men's room.

 ;D ;D ;D

I whole-heartedly agree with you JJ.   ;)

Personally, I'd very much like to see a short run of "new" vintage figures (i.e. vintage figs of new characters; Tarkin, Dr. Evazan, Duros, etc.).

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: New Ultra Clone shots at JD.com!
« on: December 12, 2003, 09:17 PM »
but FG had the same idea I did that it's indeed not a "perfect" figure still, and that extra ball joint at the hips would go a LONG way on this guy as well as almost any other figure.

Exactly.  It would've been nice to have seen an inner thigh ball-socket joint with this latest CT fig.  Still, it is a great figure.  Hasbro has finally realized that loads of articulation on an army builder is a good thing.  It's a shame that it's not a standard.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Favorite Figure(s) In Your Collection
« on: December 11, 2003, 10:14 PM »
At the current time, my favorite figs are:

Vintage: Yoda
POTF2: Max Rebo
POTJ: 300th Fett
Episode 1: Rune Haako
Saga: Ephant Mon

I'm also very fond of McFarlane's Predator Hunter figure.

They're definitely hitting.  Picked up two of 'em today.  Boy, they're real nice.  My only gripes are:

- the fact that the CT doesn't have pegholes under his feet
- the fact that the CT doesn't have a ball socket in the inner thigh/hip area
- the fact that he didn't come with a rifle

Oh yeah, and his thighs still look a bit chubby.  Other than that, the figure is perfect.   :P

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: Clone 3-pk ...does it suffice?
« on: December 11, 2003, 09:55 PM »
Never mind...I answered my own question (since I got a hold of two SA Clone Troopers today).  :)  I still like the 3-pack CT's a lot though.

For those of you that have the new super poseable Clone Trooper fig, does it blend well with the existing versions of Clone Trooper figs (i.e. 3-pack CT's, value pack/Saga CT's, etc.)?  Are they the same height, same proportion, etc.?

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Are you metrosexual?
« on: December 9, 2003, 08:42 PM »
My score: 16 points out of 50 (32%).

Average score: 15.2 points out of 50 (30.5%).

I fall in the 10 through 20 points range:
Possible future metrosexual? You're still masculine, but I will question it if you start wearing shirts with diagonal stripes.
