Disneyland appears to be getting an exclusive repaint of the Build-A-Droid R2 mold, as R2-D60... celebrating 60 years of the park.

I dig the deco... All blue R2-D2, more or less. It's a neat variant. $12.95... Not a bad price, but limited to 6000 which seems awful low.

Update: Our friends at The Astromech Collection pass on info that the R2-D60 will be available in a much wider release and not limited to 6000 pcs.
I know it's for Disneyland, but I'm hoping that it's also available in Disney World - I'm going to be there in June for one of the Star Wars weekends - hopefully they'll have it in both parks. Probably just wishful thinking but I'll hold off getting one on the secondary market until I've been there and had no luck picking up the three I want...

Maybe I can work a trade with some one for ones of these. My son really wants to complete the Phantom crew with Sabine and Hera. I could use those two mission packs considering I'll never see them here. So if someone could hold one of each that would be great.

R2-D60 goes on sale May 21st at Disneyland Star Trader (http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2015/05/shoppers-guide-to-the-disneyland-resort-diamond-celebration/)
Looks like he will be limited to five (5) per guest per day to start. Should be more widely available (but still just at West Coast Disney shops) after the Diamond Celebration stuff wraps up this weekend...

The 21st Disneyland is only open until 6pm (DCA until 10). That makes it hard to get down there for about an hour after work. They are closing early because they are having a 24 hour party the next day. People will actually camp out all night to get in at 6am on friday for the 24 hour party. The place will be insane.

I will ditch work a couple of hours early to pick up this droid. According to Disney, the initial day will be limited to five per guest so maybe my daughter and I can pick up ten. If not, I will pick up more in the coming weeks after. I have not seen an official word from Disney that these are limited. If they are, this is going to be difficult. If you haven't already, please IM me your request so I can keep track of them in one place. I think Jeff and Jesse are set.

The Disney Parks Blog (http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2015/03/disneyland-resort-diamond-celebration-merchandise-event-details-revealed/) had a rep confirm in the comments that "R2-D60 will not be a limited edition". Hopefully that hasn't changed.

Thanks Paul! If you want to ship all the MN stuff together to save on cost/time, I'm happy to front their cost and distribute at our next meeting. Or cool with you sending mine with one of theirs - whatever works easiest for you. Just sent you a PM. I think Dave is still waiting on one though, so we could hold off until you can get more. Do you have any other MN guys on your wait list?

Thanks for the pics - similar to R3-M3, but R2-D60 is much more blue/white than blue/black like R3-M3. I like the frosty dome.

Final trip complete. I was able to pick up 25 of these guys in total. They still stock them through out the store so if you are planning a trip out here, they should be available. These were not limited to 6000 as previously reported.

The R2-D60 is no longer available.
I asked a cast member if it was coming back. They said they sold through their inventory and have no information about when more will arrive.

Wonder what the holo-r2 situation is in WDW?
Wish that other droid was going to be easy to get because man, that's a snazzy deco on that mamojama. I got an R2-MK droid off Ebay just because the deco was so nice on it. I was going to pass otherwise.
To be honest, had the JSF not had the big mickey logo on it, I'd have bought that, actually. I liked that red/yellow/white/grey look.
