Title: Items to raffle or ebay off
Post by: Phrubruh on May 11, 2007, 09:40 AM
Please state what items you are willing to raffle off or sell on ebay during C4. Let's pick a charity also for the ebay items.

you can raffle off everything I've sent.

Maybe as a cause we can donate the proceeds to the Kentucky Tornado victims.

Depending on what is made, maybe multiple charities.

Paul, I'm thinking I'll probably want most of the stuff back that I sent you, quite a bit of it is stuff from my personal collection, and a couple cool pieces that I paid a pretty penny for.

I don't need this tower back though -

Or any of the wall section I sent you.

Would like sent back to me the following items that I sent -

- Turbo Laser Tower (made by Owen D)
- Junk Yard (you know what this is)
- 5 Vehicles (two were from Coeli that he sent me)
- 60 Figures (right around 60 including the junk droids)

Hopefully it all comes back in one piece.   ;)

Also no rush in getting my stuff sent back, I'm going to be pretty busy for a while!

The building is the only item I don't want back, and of course the items I mentioned to you in an earlier PM that are slated to go to other members of the project.

I'm going to want most of my things back (figures and buildings if possible).  I'll send you some paypal for funds once I'm sure which items will have survived the show!

just a reminder when I saw the word RAFFLE....

California laws are VERY SEVERE for anything that is raffle or Lotto.
If you give people coupons for FREE and then hand pick numbers for them to win, you should have no problem.

If you charge say 25 cents per coupon, that falls into state lottery and you could get into a big mess
imagine having 400 people pay you a quarter then 2 days later, the california police asks you where your lottery permit is?
how do you refund everyone, I know it sounds paranoid and silly
but we tried to do this last year with the dioramas and encountered a TON of unexpected problems that made us
just give away instead of raffle.

Make sure to talk with MARY about anything like this.
the last thing you want to do is have your fun spoiled by legal matters you werent aware of.

Since there is the subject of what charity to donate to, how about the invisible children fund. Check out this  Site (http://www.invisiblechildren.com/home.php) It is amazing what these children go through every night, just to be safe as they sleep, the camps that these families live in are horrible aswell. :( Whats great about this charity is that all of the money would go straight to the children for school, and for food and wells in the displacement camps. :) The story is realy amazing so just check out the site and tell me what you think.

In northern Uganda for more than 20 years there has been a civil war. The LRA or lords resistance army abducts children as young as five to conscript into their army. These children are exposed to violence, and death, they are then forced to kill another child to get a weapon to forcibly fight against the government. The children out of fear, every night leave the villages and hike miles to get to the city where they can safely sleep for the night in hospitals and bus stations. This happens every night, and has been going on for years. The government has diplaced many of the villagers to IDP camps, where they are packed in with little food, water, or shelter.

let me know what you all think about this idea.

I've talked to Mary about it. She has no problem with it. We are not charging to be part of the raffle. Whoever wants a ticket can have one free of charge. We will blind draw numbers. I'm even pay the shipping.

Please don't raffle any of the few meager figures I sent.

I would, however, be up for buying or winning just about any diorama bits or figures!!
