Hey folks,

I've had a lot of support from members of this community, emotionally and financially, and I really appreciate all of you who have helped me grow as an artist and as a person. Fan Art / Sketch : Lando Calrissian in Skiff Gear
« on: June 6, 2007, 12:06 AM »
I haven't contributed any work in a while, but hopefully I'll have some more Star Wars themed pieces to submit soon... This is a rough sketch of Lando Calrissian in his skiff gear. I'm happy with how this looks, overall... being a loose sketch, it has that rugged look to it, so its complimentary to the subject matter. Overall size is 5 1/2 inches x 6 1/2 inches, and it's pencil on your standard tracing paper.

Thanks for looking...

Fan Art / It isn't Star Wars... but it's new art. (Sultan of Swat)
« on: February 7, 2007, 08:34 AM »
I haven't posted anything in a while, so I figured I'd just toss out my latest work in progress. The first is a rough sketch and layout, the second is also a rough sketch, but more along the lines of a study. The subject matter is Babe Ruth. I'll probably be doing a pretty large watercolor, or mixed media based off of this general idea.

Watto's Junk Yard / Business Cards in InDesign 2
« on: February 3, 2007, 08:59 PM »
Is there an easy way to setup a page of 10 business cards? I used to do this in PageMaker, but I'm on InDesign now, and can't, for the life of me, find a simple template.

Help.

Watto's Junk Yard / Paper Embossers
« on: December 7, 2006, 08:08 AM »
Can any of you direct me to a company in the US that makes custom paper embossers? I have a logo that I will be pressing into some upcoming (hopefully) lithograph prints and possibly even envelopes.

Thanks in advance.

Watto's Junk Yard / KKKKKHAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!
« on: August 4, 2006, 07:49 PM »
Here lately, I've been more and more depressed with Star Wars... I don't know if its all of the bull**** attached to the community, if its my disapointment in the novels and anime series, the inability to afford any of the merch anymore, or what...

Anyway, I've found myself catching more and more episodes of Star Trek on TV. This started a few months ago, when I was having dinner with a good friend who is a fellow Sci-Fi lover... he expressed his love for Star Trek, and so I asked to borrow his Series 1 DVD's of Star Trek Deep Space Nine...

Last night I caught the Wrath of Kahn... I enjoyed it. Now I can scream, "KAAAAAAHNNNNN!!!!" whenever the **** I want to, and actually know what the reference is.

So my question is, has anyone else started to take interest (for the first time) in Star Trek?

Fan Art / Ewoks
« on: June 26, 2006, 11:44 AM »
I've got a little project going on behind-the-scenes, having to do with the Ewoks. Here's a look at some of the characters... I've no clue when I'll be ready to release any finished material, but it's offered something of an escape for me...

Fan Art / ICMG Meets Jabba The Hutt
« on: May 18, 2006, 09:16 PM »
Some oldies but goodies...

I drew this piece in January of 2004... Boy, does time fly! I've always loved this one, and hated it at the same time. It just wasn't 'perfect'. Anyway, I finally went through my portfolio and did a high-res scan to it, to drop onto my website... I figured I'd post it here, too.

Watto's Junk Yard / Best and Worst James Bond Theme Songs?
« on: May 9, 2006, 01:03 AM »
I was listening to my folder of James Bond themes, on iTunes, and decided to make a thread on the subject. Alot of us here are James Bond fans, I would imagine... so I'm curious to know where everyone else stands when it comes to their favorite and least favorite Bond theme songs...

My picks for the top 3 best Bond themes :

1. Live and Let Die / Paul McCartney & Wings (1973)
2. View To A Kill / Duran Duran (1985)
3. Goldfinger / Shirley Bassey (1964)

My picks for the top 3 worst Bond themes :

1. Die Another Day / Madonna (2002)
2. Tomorrow Never Dies / Sheryl Crow (1997)
3. The Man With The Golden Gun / Lulu (1974)

Watto's Junk Yard / Bonnaroo Music Festival - 2006
« on: January 25, 2006, 05:29 PM »
Anyone going to Bonnaroo this year? I went last year and had a blast. I aim to go this year, too. Rumored headlining bands are Tom Petty and Radiohead... some say Beck and The Dead, too. Officials have downsized the festival this year, thankfully - so a few thousand less people will be nice.

I just wanted to make a general announcement to everyone that Chris has lovingly increased the default Quotations font to a more comfortable reading size.

Hopefully everyone will find this to be an improvement.

That is all.

Fan Art / Planet of the Apes - The Lawgiver
« on: December 17, 2005, 12:04 AM »
Well, hopefully this will redeem the "Wookie" sketch...

A few months ago I picked up some of this orange/brown-toned paper, knowing I'd put it to good use, eventually. Since this is about 18 x 24, I had to scan it 5 times and piece it together over photoshop... so there are probably some hairline seams and discolorization... oh well.

Watto's Junk Yard / Ever said someone else's name?
« on: December 16, 2005, 10:49 AM »
So, last night I was talking to my girlfriend... and accidentaly called her by an ex-girlfriend's name.

There was this long pause afterwards, which seemed to last forever, I suppose it was an "Oh ****" moment for me and a "What the ****?" moment for her... but anyway, needless to say I feel absolutely horrible about it. I wasn't even thinking about that other person, but for whatever reason I said her name.

Has this ever happened to any of you?

Never getting any,

Brad
