Do I need to make park runs for these?
This set includes 4 build-a-droid astromechs: R0-4LO, R2-Q2, R4-M9 and R5-X3 all of which are said to be from The Force Awakens.

Hmmm... some of them are definitely not new designs - R2-Q2 (http://www.rebelscum.com/TSCastroS1.asp) was in one of the EE packs; R4-M9 (http://www.rebelscum.com/POTJr4m9.asp) was in the POTJ line.
Both of those droids were in the OT. They could also be in TFA I guess... but half the box being remakes makes it a little less special to me. :(
-
Wow! Cool set. Will definitely pick this up.
-
These can be found outside the park at world of Disney for $29.95. They are the current droid factory builders you do in the park. The r4 is darker black than the green used in potj version. The gray one is identical to the build a droid version.

I'd be interested in buying a set if you do end up making a run, Phurby. Thanks! :)
-
Pm me. I'm going again on Tuesday.
-
Ok, so far I'm picking up nine of these tonight. Anyone else?

Thanks Phrub. If there are multiple going to MN let us know and we can do a group shipment again.
-
It's just you and Jeff right now. You guys could split the $12 shipping if you want. I haven't heard from Jayson or JediMoses yet.
-
I'm willing to split the shipping if Justin is. :)

I picked up all nine of them last night. I'll pm you the totals in a little bit.
-
Thanks, Paul! Love me some generic astromechs, and I don't have any of the Disney BADs, so this was a no brainer.
-
Well if you want me to build a certain droid for you let me know.

Paypal sent. Thanks Paul!

That was quick, got the droids today at the office. Thanks again Paul!
-
I'm happy to get rid of them as fast as possible. My credit card balance thanks you.
-
Got mine yesterday! Thanks Paul!!!
-
Had mine sent to my parents' place and it looks like it got there on Friday too. Thanks again Paul!
-
Glad I could help.

Okay, can anyone help me figure out where to put these on my shelves?
R2-Q2 was Biggs' droid, so he'll go next to the other version of that.
R4-M9 is the Imperial OT droid, I'll put him next to the POTJ version.
R0-4L0 and R5-X3... what are those?
I can find a reference to R5-X3 through Google and he's mentioned as part of a Force Awakens card game. Does that mean he's from the new film?
Or are the other two just made up droids?
-
R5-X2 was Jabba's gambling droid but this droid R5-X3 looks exactly like him. There was a japanese rc version of him.

Yeah, I've got R5-X2...
I'm assuming that R5-X3 is supposed to be a different droid even if he looks the same though?
-
I'm glad everybody likes them. Let me know if I should buy other stuff or more build a droids. I believe wave three will be available soon. Disney parks have other stuff too.

He's in TFA (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10205443158023770&set=gm.1654152844822648&type=3&permPage=1)

Hmmm, thought the new X-Wings had BB8 type droids in the socket... not full size astromechs?
-
BUMP.
Anyone figured out where R0-4LO came from?
I still have no idea where this guy belongs on the shelf.
-
I believe that R0-4LO is Jessica Pava's (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jessika_Pava) astromech.
-
Right between R0-4LN and R0-4LP?

I don't have any reason to doubt you on this, you always know what you're talking about - but I'm curious as to what you're basing that on?
From what you're saying, both R5-X3 and R0-4LO go with the TFA figures... that's where I'll put them.

I think it was confirmed that, just like the box claimed, ALL four of these droids were spotted in the movie in the Resistance Base scenes. Either paired up with X-Wing/Pilots or on the ground with crew prepping the ships.
-
Ah, okay. I knew that it was called a TFA set, but given that 2 (arguably 3) of them were in the OT by name, I figured it was just Disney / Hasbro being sloppy.
I guess I'll just go move all of them to the TFA shelf.
Thanks Jeff, Jayson.
-
In actuality, he packaging for the TFA set is incorrect in identifying the droid "names". It was produced prior to TFA release and subsequent "official material". R4-M9 is actually M9-G8 for example.
Update: R2-X3 is now named RP-GO
-
Even better.
Thanks for clearing all that up.

It took me my third viewing to find R5X3 and by then I had to dig him out of my TPM box to re-locate him.
-
Technically he's still Jabba's gambling droid too. :)
I want a 2nd of the set, actually, for that purpose. I'll figure something out with part swapping with other BAD's then.
