The Legacy Collection / Re: Build-a-Droid Gift Packs

Good question.  I really like the idea of repaints of existing parts.  You can never have too many droids.

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Y-Wing Bomber - Good Idea, or Great Idea?

I think Hasbro is making a mistake by not packing an exclusive astromech figure in with this and the ARC.  It would make the $60 go down a lot easier (at least for me!), and provide a little more incentive for the fence-sitters to get this.  At the very least, they should have released a Shadow Squadron BP alongside this, with pilots Broadside and Matchstick along with the green R5 and orange R2 astromechs.

You know, when the POTF2 X-Wing came out 10 years ago, it was $50, so I'm not really surprised this is a few dollars more.

Hey I love the idea of a new Y-Wing.  I think it would be especially cool if it were tooled so that all the panels could come off to reveal the OT Y-Wing underneath!  Could make for some great play features - battle damage or a maintenance scene.  Probably make the thing twice as expensive though.

I put a page up on the Star Wars Astromechs site devoted to Clone Wars astromechs if you want to check out some possible pack-in figure material.

Just could resist throwing that link in another post, huh? ;)

I thought it was relevant to the Y-Wing, as it is, after all, the only compendium of all the astromechs shown in Y-Wings in the new Clone Wars series on the web.

Do you think that astromechs that appear in the Y-Wings during the Clone Wars series are not relevant and off-topic?

I don't, either.  But I want to spend money on that site even less.  It's just a harmless angelfire pop-up.

Really, it's worth it!  8)

It does for me and most people.  I feel bad for you, as its cool and has dozens (or at least a couple) of exclusive, never-before seen images of droids!  You  probably need to change your pop-up settings or something.

Btw, I have lotsa websites!  :P

Anyway, is there some jedidefender rule out there that anytime I reference one of my sites I must declare that it's mine?  The "Full Disclosure" clause?

What I like about the build a droid thing is that even if you end up with an odd mismatch of parts, you can still stick them together for a cool freak-a-droid-arama.  Ending up with three left legs but no right legs is...not so cool.  I would go for battledroids, however, as any extra parts can go towards "battlefield litter" without being morbid.  Anyway, I'd rather any new 'troops be carded or in a multipack so that their more readily available for army building.  I'm sure that if a coveted new trooper came out as a Build-a, instead of obscure droids, there would be all sorts of outrage.

With almost 50 astromechs left to be done according to this site: www.angelfire.com/droid/astromechs/ , my preference is for Hasbro to keep focusing on astromechs for at least the next dozen waves.  ;D

Well, I always wanted the igloo, but I expect a little more for $30 than this igloo.

Right now, you can buy a Hoth bp with 5 figures, including a big probe droid and a repainted R5-M2 for $20.  This set has 3 reissued characters plus the igloo and a womp rat of the same size as that wolf thing that was released a couple times with a tusken and a geonesian.  Assuming the womp rat is equal to the value of the probe droid + R5-M2, (which of course it isn't) that leaves the igloo for $30, which is the same price point we've seen the X-Wing, ARC fighter, etc for.

To make this worthwhile, or at least not an insult, they should have included 2 troopers and that little light-up green security droid.  Actually, that still wouldn't have made this worthwhile...

I found this excellent site with pictures of all the background astromechs left for Hasbro to make

It must have been hard to find that site considering it's your own website...  :P

I *founded* this site -  ;D  Anyway, I think its useful to see what else is out there for H to put in the B-A-D line.

If you are aware of any droids I left out, let me know.  I'm not sure why soem people are having trouble and others aren't.  Maybe try again later, or cut-n-paste.

It works for me.  It's a little slow and has some popups since its an angelfire site, but its the only place to see all those obscure droids and screenshots that I'm aware of.  Anyone else having problems?

I must say that I find the whole BAD concept pretty awsome so far.  I can live without the R7 droids as I don't follow the EU, But everything else is totally cool.  It looks like except for the R7 droids, everything made or announced so far has been in the movies.  I found this excellent site with pictures of all the background astromechs left for Hasbro to make, and that also shows where R4-J1 and the upcoming R2-N6 are in the movies:

Hey Hasbro! / Re: Questions for Hasbro?
« on: August 28, 2006, 01:30 PM »
I am happy to see that you are releasing more OT figs to coincide with the 30th anniversary next year.  Are you also going to release any figures that were ONLY in the original versions of the movies because they were subsequently deleted from the SE's, such as Hyenaman or R2-A5?  With the word that this will be the final release of the original OT, it seems like a great time to make some of these characters.
