The Bullpen / Re: Iron Man 3 Toys

I saw a similar Iron Patriot at Target, which spokes phrases...including "I'm here to back you up, Iron Man"

Wait, I thought he was the villain!

Yeah, they wouldn't bother releasing 33/4" under this "black series" if the figures would be kiddiefied, they'd stick those under Movie Heroes. Collector aimed 3 3/4" is probably safe for now, by "now" I mean the last 6 months of this year.  :P

Hmmm, I choose Option E:

They didn't have it on their 2013 schedule because Season Six is actually running from July 2012-December 2012, as per the recent news out of UK Toy Fair. (I assume on Cartoon Network as we have heard nothing to indicate otherwise)

My calendar says it's 2013 already. Though, yeah, I was wondering about that, too.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series - 2013 Wave 2
« on: January 29, 2013, 01:14 PM »
Han Solo (ANH)
Boba Fett (ROTJ)
Darth Vader (ROTJ)
Clone Trooper (ROTS)

C-3PO's vac metal look will delay him or something. They'd wait a tad before any female characters. They will put another army builder in, even with the costs too high for anyone to buy multiples, to cover themselves. Plus clone trooper can be repainted/redecoed.

Peopl wear black at funerals. LOLZ.

I also don't quite get WHOLE NEW BLACK SERIES and 3 3/4" will also be under the  Black Series. But whatever.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6 Inch Figures?

Again with the Sandtrooper? Someone at Hasbro really had a thing for them.

The figure looks nice. But also showcases a reason why I don't do 6" figures. Pilot Luke there will never have anything to fly. Sure that's not a point for most people. I still operate under the premise that I'd like to fly Luke around in his ship even if I don't do that much anymore.

They need beasts. Geonosian on whatever it's called. Kaadu with Gungan or Tarpals. A better Nexu with Padme and Geonosian.

I'd love the new speeder bike out there with a weathered scout and an Ewok or rebel commando. Cost purpose wise, they could ditch the stand and laser cannon and TRU exclusive buyers would not feel cheated.

The 90's EU mcquarrie Airspeeder is probaby too big, but I'd like a Marvel "City of Bone" version with stromtrooper.

Gian speeder. Though, that might be too big now.

Better Zam Wessel speeder.

Anakin's airspeeder from ROTS. Again, might be too big.

Hoth Rebel transport speeder.

Luke's Landspeeder maybe with a bonus womprat or something.

Since Season 5 is being cut short, there's 3 episodes in the can (Clovis/Padme arc) that have to go somewhere.

3D rereleases in limbo. This close to Toy Fair. Hasbro's gonna be crying tears in their beers. 2014 will be as confused as this year.

Postponed. More like post-pwned!

I think licensees should jump ship until the sequels. Seriously, Lucasfilm/Disney, you've screwed them over. You've changed release dates once, now got them doing two different packaging looks...for nothing.

I like there's a link at the starwars.com page for the Jar Jar sound board on that page. "Dissen Berry Berry Bad..."

Isn't that Bespin battle pack Fett out of scale?

Here's a way to look at it...

Is Ellors Madak worth $5 or $6 to you?  Forget what you paid at the time because times changed.

Ellors had 6 POA.

5 POA is less than 1995. People seem to gloss over that. Even in those days, the waist joint was missed when it was missed.

That was a pretty sweet duel, no doubt, but I don't see why Maul just didn't just force choke him or whatever. Not good theatre I guess.

Certainly not honorable combat. Maul knew his opponent and his goal. Maul had to best Vizla to win leadership of Death Watch. Force choke Vizla to death and everyone in the room is gonna start shooting at Maul.

Joe Defender / Re: GI Joe Convention 2013
« on: January 27, 2013, 12:34 PM »
I'm far from being a GI JOE collector anymore. But I see that SAW-Viper and think "I wouldn't even pay regular retail for that". The Frag Viper and Letal look like they are wearing spandex. Frag Viper was an oddball trooper and they've made them a little odder.

Some of the Joes look fairly good, but overall, I think it's a weak set this year. They used to be more creative, but there's a problem with alienating fans by having too much newness. So filling in gaps with  less popular cobra army builders, vintage subteam figures and oddball foreign characters that have yet to have modern versions.

Also, Cobra women always look like Baroness wannabes, except Zarana and Zanya. Sure they are limited by existing molds, but I think there's enough parts to do something different.

But anyway, this set's not for me. I'm just at best, a casual enthusiast of GI JOE.

It would have been better if they got Berry White to play Perry White.

Sadly, Hollywood has not developed the ability to raise the dead. Otherwise, we could also have Yul Brynner as Lex Luthor.
