Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Official Movie Thread

I think the Hunger games is going to be huge, because of the the universal appeal that the books have. Everyone in my house from 7 year old boy, 13 year old girl to 30 something mom and dad have read the books and all like them in different ways. I am interested in how well that translates to the screen. Sometimes when something is well written and received, the on screen translation leaves a lot to be desired. The third Harry Potter movie comes to mind in this case. I loved that book, but I don't think I will ever watch the movie again because I thought it was such a crappy rendition. The Lord of the Rings movies, however were the best on screen adaptations that I have ever seen, and would watch those movies every week, (sometimes I do, thanks TNT).
The difference between this being profitable and a blockbuster is if that universal appeal translates to the screen.
I am not a huge in the theatre movie-goer, but I can't wait to see this on the big screen with the family. I can easily endorse anyone on this sight to read the book. I have not met anyone yet who did not enjoy it, in fact most people ravenously tore into the other two books as soon as they finished the first.

Did Elan Mak make it just because of the giant green boob on its head?  :-[

You could make 2-3 waves of outstanding figures from The Box alone. sigh.

I keep hoping that after the minimal returns on the 3D investment that we might see a rebound for Clone Wars in future releases. It seems like season 4 featured several obvious character outfit changes that would do well on the pegs, How many outfits did Ventress wear this season?

I still love the show, and hope next year is not the final season. Looking back at season 1 the visuals are much better, and the ability to blend in background characters and multiple environments is vastly superior.

I think they took some risks this year and gave the fans more of what they were asking for...action. Now if we could just get some action figures...

I wonder how much Toys R Us is going to charge for the inevitable Darth Maul Exclusive w/ Spider-legs and pet snake Deluxe set? Oh wait, they are too bust making battle packs of figures we have 5 times over. Never mind.  :P

I think all those games in hand FLA has on Winnipeg and a talented and heating up Washington will keep that banner somewhere else. Great story this year though. and much more fun to watch than the empty seat backs in ATL.

I need to watch the teaser again, because the only bounty hunter I saw from previous episodes was Bossk. One character kind of looked like Hardeen, but I thought the color was different. It looked like a ton of new characters that will wallow in my wish list for years.

I loved that they brought back the Defoliator. If they can keep up this pace for three more episodes, consider season 4 by far the best.

I think it is more likely these become Entertainment Earth exclusives or are sold in mass to Big Lots, Ross, Kohls or some other smaller discount chains with toy departments. I sure hope they make it somewhere.

Jesse let me know if you want to get rid of a single CW scuba clone. I would gladly take one off your hands.

Same "business model" I would have used sculpt if that is what I meant. I did not know we were being so formal.

It does dot surprise me that the scuba clone is not getting a card. This is the same model they used with the snow gear clones. I wish Rex was in the deluxe and the trooper was carded then, but I spent much more to complete the scene so I guess in the end they knew what they were doing.

That being said, I still plan on buying at least two of the subs with clones when they arrive...if I can find them.

I think the future of this line rests in Hasbro's design team. If they decide to release new versions of core figures with a smattering of secondary figures I think the line can continue. If the line was so dead, why have I never seen an armored Savage in the wild? The line is being prodded toward a main line infusion, which I will accept...I guess. But there are a lot of young collectors that came in with the cartoon that may not jump on outside the series because of cost. As a parent I can barely afford the CW figs, there is no way I could handle all of Vintage. At least in my area the CW stuff seems to move well, it is not as hard to find as vintage, but nothing that could not be helped by better case selection. I love collecting these with my son, and when the line is discontinued it will be a sad day. Until then, I am ready for the next wave to appear.

The preview did not give us much for this week, but how dark would it be if Dooku wipes out the entire witch clan? It will be interesting to see how they bring this together, it needs to blow my mind because I think Greedo shooting first is less of a bother to me than bringing Maul back from the dead.

As far as Red Tails goes,  if you love visual effects on the big screen, go see it now. Overall though I think it is a great movie to rent and watch at home in Bluray.

I feel bad for anyone who gave up on the series. This season, with the exception of the droids episode, has been very fun to watch. This episode and the death watch episode are right up there in my mind with landing at point rain and rookies. I won't comment on the figures of these bounty hunters....Hasbro knows what MUST be done.
