Title: Legacy Wave 11 - Revenge of the Sith
Post by: Jeff on December 5, 2008, 11:36 PM
Hey, since I'm in a thread starting mood tonight...  why not get this one started since it's the only 2009 wave left without a thread.   :P

  BD xx TBD
  BD xx TBD
  BD xx TBD
  BD xx TBD
  BD xx TBD
  BD xx TBD
  - Build-A-Droid: ?

I'm not sure if anything has been confirmed for this wave or not yet, but I'd like to see that Senate Duel Palpy finally make it out this time...

Here's a mix of what I think we'll get and what I'd like:

Anakin/Vader - Derek Thompson concept art figure
Padme - Sang Jun Lee concept art figure
Yoda - Senate Duel
Utai 2-pack
Nute Gunray
Merumeru - Wookiee Captain
B-A-D - BD-3000 "Bettybot"

Got any links for the concept figs?

I'd LOVE to get an Utai set. One short, one tall, like the Jawa 2-packs from yesteryear. I'd buy several sets of those.

I like your other choices as well. I'd however include Senate Deul Emperor in place of either Nute or Merumeru.

And SPOT ON for BD-3000.

Heck that one can EASILY be repainted (all metallic inks please). Red body/silver limbs, or green body/gold limbs

Since it would be a build-a-droid, we could mix those up and get a red body/gold limbs or green body/silver limbs

Maybe even a black body...several opportunities here for Hasbro to reissue new decos!

All I really want is the two main Palpatines, Padmes and the Utai.  Otherwise, IMO ROTS is the most complete of the 6 films figure wise (with ESB being a close second)

Yeah, I've always thought they did a pretty good job covering ROTS during the movie year (and since then as well, there have been several waves/figures dedicated to ROTS).  Like Scott, I'd like to see the two Palpys, Padmes, adn the Utai - and maybe some new scaled Magnaguards.  Otherwise, the lineup doesn't look too bad.  There are some subtle changes that could maybe be made (like ball elbows on the Evo Anakin), but otherwise, ROTS is pretty well set.
Title: Re: Legacy Wave 11 - Revenge of the Sith (Fall 2009)
Post by: Diddly on January 12, 2009, 09:07 PM
Agreed with both of you. All we need from ROTS is a SA Senate Duel Palpatine, SA Office Duel Palpatine, the various Padmes, an updated Magnaguard and the Utai. Maybe a variation of the new Grievous with two fixed arms and a soft goods cloak. I wouldn't mind some Wookiee army builders either.

Looks like a new Agen Kolar (http://www.jeditemplearchives.com/content/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=4634/#details) is the first figure to be confirmed for this wave...  seems like a strange choice to do given how often they crank out the RotS version in the box sets and Legends line.
Title: Re: Legacy Wave 11 - Revenge of the Sith (Fall 2009)
Post by: Jesse James on April 11, 2009, 02:14 AM
I thought the ROTS figure was outstanding really, and only needed maybe a softgoods skirt (totally softgoods, not just part of it), and cloak...  So he could sit and all.  Kind of an odd Jedi choice to me, but whatever.  I probably will buy him anyway regardless.

Utterly mystifying.  I guess Jedi sell and there aren't any more to do.  Oh, well.  There's always one.

I think it's great! I never really cared for the first figure. I would've preferred an Aayla Secura resculpt over this guy though. Actually, I'm kinda surprised they aren't doing the Coleman Kcaj/Pablo-Jill character first.

Wow.  I was the one who wrote that question for JTA and I'm surprised Hasbro bit at that one.  Agen Kolar's an interesting looking Jedi.  But based on the answer, I don't know if they're going to get the lightsaber color correct...again!
Title: Re: Legacy Wave 11 - Revenge of the Sith (Fall 2009)

There is a new rumor list (http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/Star_Wars_Rumors_Basic_Figures_122435.asp) at RS that has a possible lineup for this wave:

Cin Drallig
Darth Sidious - Senate Duel
Yoda - Senate Duel
Oddball
GH-7 and Midwife Droid
Merumeru
Agen Kolar
Utai
Captain Colton

Not a bad lineup if it is true.  I'd be really happy to get a nice Senate Duel Sidious, and really we haven't had a real "ultimate" Yoda in the line either - despite all the various versions we've seen.  I've personally been hoping for a Merumeru (and other Wookiees), so that's a welcome addition too.  Cin Drallig has been rumored (confirmed?) for awhile, as well as the recent Kolar confirmation.  The Utai is a nice addition too.  Oddball could basically be a re-release of the evolutions ROTS pilot, couldn't it?  I'm not sure of the differences, although there could be.  Anyways, nice lineup if true.

He's a Wookiee

Overall this is a good Episode III (if true).  The only thing lacking is a Padme...but it knocks out pretty much all of the Episode III 2008 Wishlist

Decent list but I'd trash GH-7 (who?) and Agen Kolar (since the first one was 90% perfect anyway) and replace them with an updated Magnaguard.

Captain Colton is Jeremy Bulloch correct?

From banthaskull...conmfirmed Capt Colton

1. Rumor has it that there will be a Captain Jeremoch Colton figure in the ROTS wave later this year. Are we talking about a new sculpt or just a kit-bashed version of the 2005 Captain Antilles figure? -HemDazon33

He's an all-new figure with much more articulation than Antilles.

That's good because, well, Antilles sucked.

I'm digging this because I like getting Jeremy Bulloch in his non-Fett incarnations.  Here's to his Imperial Officer getting a figure soon.

Over at the Yak -

Agen Kolar Prototype (http://www.yakface.com/2009/july/newkolar.html)
and
Concept Ki-Adi-Mundi Prototype (http://www.yakface.com/2009/july/conceptkiadi.html)

Concept Ki-Adi-Mundi is based on Derek Thompson's work, matching up with what Hasbro said to expect for the concept from this wave...
Title: Re: Legacy Wave 11 - Revenge of the Sith (Fall 2009)
Post by: Greg on July 12, 2009, 10:00 PM
Ki-Adi looks really nice while Agen Kolar is kinda lackluster. I thought the previous Agen Kolar was good enough. I'm wondering if a concept Plo Koon is in the works. That pair of concept Jedi was a favorite of mine, though all of the concept Jedi artwork was pretty cool.

Post by: Nicklab on July 12, 2009, 10:26 PM
These look cool to me.  They definitely deliver in the Jedi department, and this seems to be a much more interesting part of the line to me now than the majority of troops.  I'm curious to see what the final painted versions will look like.  My concerns about Agen Kolar?  He better have the softgoods cloak.  And what is with the green lightsaber?

KI adi Mundi should turn out well ....so two concepts left- a prominent secondary character and a trooper concept.

Not long to wait now.

As badly as Office Duel Sidious needs re-done, Senate Duel Sidious is a much more impressive presence, and now that we have excellent Grievous and Dooku figures it's time to round out the villains of Episode III.  I'm actually pretty excited about Agen Kolar.  The last version seemed way too chilled-out, whereas this one gets back to the excitement of the Power of the Jedi Eeth Koth figure and boasts a good range of motion to match 30th Anniversary Mace, Geonosian Arena Kit and everyone's favorite Saga Legend, Saesee Tiin.

Devil-Horns Amidala and Bail with the piece of metal over his chest would anchor the wave and advance the theme of the fall of the Republic.  As a devoted fan of Bail Organa, I'd like to see him in more ROTS waves going forward, since Skywalker and Kenobi are perpetually in Saga Legends.

I suppose I'll be more excited about Ki Adi Mundi when I see him painted.  I do like the idea of the Jedi suffering horrible injuries during the Clone Wars.  If they make bald Anakin with the horrible scars (the name of the concept artist escapes me), he will replace the screen-accurate Mullet Anakin in my display.

I think the ROTS concept art for Plo included the gauntlet style double saber, which seems to be in that picture.  Pretty cool.

Post by: Greg on July 22, 2009, 03:47 PM
Plo's robe looks like his movie outfit, but the head and saber gauntlet have me leaning towards concept art figure. Unless it's a movie fig with removable mask? That'd be pretty nifty.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the Cody, Utai, and Jedi. Colton is a snooze fest for sure.

That's Plo with updated articulation. The Mask is not removable but a separate molded part that has not been attached in the set up because it's a casted prototype, Hasbro was not done setting up yet is my belief. They gave him the CW gauntlet like the animated one, he is not meant to be a concept figure but an upgrade like Agen Kolar and Kit from the Geo packs. Now they need to update Ki-Adi-Mundi, Luma & Aayla so the ROTS guys are all up to par. A Barris would be nice too.

We're looking at the right side of his head.

Here is an excerpt from his Wookieepedia page (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Plo_Koon) that might explain this concept's source:

Quote
Appearance without mask
The official Star Wars database has an image of Plo Koon without his goggles exposing his closed eyes. The canon status of this is, however, in question, as the image appears in the Behind the Scenes section as a pre-production concept model and does not necessarily reflect the reality of the character.[1]

The figures included in this wave look very well done and all, but does it just seem sort of boring to anyone else?  I think the improvements to Cody are welcome, and the Utai have been pretty well requested as well, but it just seems sort of "meh" otherwise.  Too bad one of the much requested Palpatines wasn't included.

Definitely - old white guy, two jedi resculpts (our 3rd/4th/whatever versions of each), resculpt Cody.  Meh.

Yeah, you can argue it's stuff that probably needed an upgrade (Agen/Cody), but seeing yet another RotS wave without a new Palptine (Office or Senate) is diappointing for sure.

I do like the Concept Ki-Adi and the Utai though.   :P

A disappointing wave. Sure the resculpts LOOK great, but do we really need a new Agen Kolar already? Although looking at the original peaheaded unarticulated Cody, I won't complain. But like others said, I'd rather have the much needed Palpatines.

I agree that this wave is rather bland. Utai are nice, but a Palpatine is a must. There really isn't a stand-out main character in the wave. I like the concepts, but I really wish we'd get BAD that reflected the movie, like that 'pleasure droid'... BD-3000 or whatever she is. There are too many EU ones in waves that I'm getting and I really have no need for them since I have no attachment to the EU.  :-\

I like what we're getting, though I think Kolar should've been replaced by Pablo Jill by far, or Barriss Offee, but ultimately these figures aren't overly exciting for the most part.  I'll buy them for sure, but it's one of those waves I'm not looking for much "extra" from it too.  AOTC wave was similar.  It was easy to buy and be done with it.

Army builders rope me in, and this one's devoid of them.

Two Utai or not two Utai, that is the question...

The first pic from SHH, when set-up was still ocurring -
(http://i32.tinypic.com/10pveb5.jpg) (http://www.superherohype.com/imageGallery/Comic-Con/Comic-Con_2009/large/hr_Comic-Con_2009_72.jpg)
(click for larger image)

And the later in the evening "official" preview night pics from RS:-
(http://www.rebelscum.com/sdcc09/hasbro-sw/IMG_1021.JPG)

Notice that in the first pic, there is a second Utai figure standing behind the Ugnaught and next to Luke.  But then, at some point yesterday the second Utai figure mysteriously vanished from the pile and is not shown with the rest of the wave in the later pics.  I wonder if he got dumped or if they changed their mind about showing him just yet?  :-\

Well damn! I hope they do go forward with the 2nd Utai, or make this a 2-pack. I'd buy a few sets of them. At least 3.

I wish they would just break down and make the Utai a 2 pack.  They are doing it with the Ewoks.  Why not these two?

If I had to guess I'd say too much new tooling for these where the Ewoks have been using the same mold for a year or two now.

The otheR Site has speculation that there will be a New (or maybe repack from the Mygeeto BP) Bacara and Cmdr Deviss.  I didn't see any pictures from SDCC or mention of this in the Hasbro presentation.  Anyone have info on this?

Most of the talk on the 2009 numbering & 2009 repacks over there was taken from this post at JTA (http://www.jeditemplearchives.com/content/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=4976/#details), though unfortunately they didn't feel like giving much credit to JTA for the list.

Not surprised that recognition wasn't given, thanks for the link, I was starting to wonder if it was just idle speculation getting dressed up as a rumor, getting twisted into a Hasbro hint, getting contorted into sometihng more (as happens...)

The otheR site never likes to give us credit.  Whatever.  You guys are much cooler like that.

The list we published came directly from Hasbro and was given to me at SDCC.  Though much of the info was out there because of the poster that was handed out at the Hasbro booth.  We just filled in the blank entries which are acknowledged by Hasbro on the poster as reissues.

Who's impressed with the upcoming ROTS wave? It definitely looks better than the 2008 ROTS wave. The Plo Koon should be cool, Agen Kolar is a great upgrade, and, obviously, everyone will totally be after the concept IG-88! The Commander Cody looks SWEET! Captain Colton just MIGHT be a peg warmer in some stores, not to mention that Utai wrangler...

Has there ever been any explanation from Hasbro as to why Agen Kolar continues to include a green lightsaber, despite all film evidence to the contrary?  I kind of understood the 2005 ROTS version coming with a green blade ("we were working off production stills"/"color hadn't been finalized"/etc), but at this point, it's a rather glaring mistake (albeit one steeped in admitted nerd minutiae), and I'm surprised that it hasn't been picked up on by either Hasbro or LFL.
Title: Re: Legacy Wave 11 - Revenge of the Sith (Fall 2009)

I think it's because he had a green blade in AOTC and they just continue to go with that color, despite the ROTS color change. One thing's for certain, Hasbro has a thing for lightsaber errors.  :P

That's Jeremy Bulloch's character, as he piloted the ship carrying Yoda, Obi-Wan, and Bail Organa to Alderaan.

I'll nab a couple of him actually to do some Alderaan Crewmen, and I can use the Bulloch head for a Lt. Sheckil (aged?) figure I guess.

Really?  I need to watch ROTS again on Spike or something.  He's still going to warm the pegs IMO unless he's 1 per case like they're doing with crazy spacesuit alien man in TPM wave.  Pretty sure Hasbro learned their lesson after Yarna and the Organas, but you never know.  Is he even catered to us collector folk?  Seems like a lame figure to me, but I'll take him I guess.

Not Alderaan, but Coruscant...  Sorry.

After they pick up Obi and he says about going back to destroy the message calling Jedi back to Coruscant they're seen entering the planet's upper atmosphere and Mas Ameda calls Bail about a special meeting of the Senate and such...  Bulloch's character (Captain Colton) is driving the Tantive IV with someone else.

I'm going to call him "Ham Hands Colton" with those big mits.

I was thinking his lower legs had ankles though, which Bail didn't, did he?  It could be mostly recycled which I'm fine with...  It looks ok to me anyway.  The mits are a bit large, but I'll live with Ham Hands here.

Anyone know if that's actually what Plo Koon looks like without the mask in EU or whatnot?  It's very strange.  Like he's missing part of his face there in the middle.  Very freaky.

Agen Kolar is an easy fix, boil and pop the old skirt or you can use the extra Old ANH Obi Wan cloth Skirt that comes with the Resurgance of the Jedi Pack. I have to color match Plo so I have no suggestion for him...yet.

Hasbro STILL got the lightsaber wrong!  >:( I thought that the early images of the figure with the green lightsaber were simply going to be corrected before they hit retail - but they weren't! It's not like the image on the front, the movie still on the back, and the image of the figure on the back all had blue lightsabers! Right? RIGHT?! And that lower robe ...!

Yeah Agen Kolar's lightsaber should be BLUE! Not Green.

Thanks for the tip, boyo.  That's another $10 in gas saved. :)

Yes, six new figures - the five from RotS (Agen, Plo, Colton, Cody, Utai) plus the Concept IG-88.

I wonder if retail is ever going to catch up to HTS.  I've barely even seen the TPM wave and now the 4th wave in TLC RED is up for preorder?  It's only 2 weeks out.  I preordered this wave since brick and mortar retail has just been so bleak.

I think the only way retail's going to catch up is if the blue packaging is wiped out...  Around me, there's a LOT of everything from the ANH wave backwards, and sometimes the ESB Wave remnants as well.  It's currently got no chance at all.

I went ahead and ordered/preordered these as well.  With the discount, it isn't all that different than retail - and I don't see these making it out in decent numbers around here anytime soon.  I did see the ROTJ wave at Target this week, so I can't complain too much, but otherwise CW/Legends have a stranglehold on retail locally.

I got my Wave 11 stuff from HasbroToyShop....  I'll go with "good" but not great.

For starters, my Plo Koon was missing his double-blader saber gauntlet accessory.... and I didn't notice it until after I already opened it up.  Nice attention to detail, me.  ::)

A lot of the figures in this wave turned out really well, but nothing jumped out as "wow" to me.  The Utai seems lacking knowing that it was almost a 2-pack.  Colton is a nice figure of a boring character.  Agen and Plo are nice.. but they are just resculpts that weren't all that high on my list.  Cody turned out really nice though, a great improvement over the 2006 figure.

Pretty much the whole wave boiled down to "yeah it's a nice figure, but I guess I'm just too burned out on RotS stuff to get too excited about it".

Cody turned out really nice though, a great improvement over the 2006 figure.

As a plaything goes, it's pretty good-- the backpack won't stay on still-- but it's nice to have the articulation.

The one thing I noticed this year, in particular with this wave and the AT-ST, is that it seems Hasbro has shifted gears from spending money on deco and put it into articulation.  Cody being a fine example-- less dirt, the "signature" thing on his shoulder armor is gone now, the antenna isn't painted, etc.  Plus there are sculpted dents, but no deco to bring it out.  The AT-ST feels very plain, and numerous other figures just seem like paint isn't a priority.   (I'd rather have great deco over ball elbows on some figures, specifically most Cantina characters, as they're going to spend eternity standing around.)

...I love the Plo Koon though, wish the mask wasn't removable.  If this wave ends up being hard to get in the grand scheme of things, I vote his mask/goggles as the most easily lost part of the year.

Can't say I agree at all, but compared to 2007 we got both for the most part...  Still, I'll take articulation over deco, but would prefer getting both to the best of their ability, especially since deco is (generally) not quite as expensive in the production process.  Even if it's just a spritz of some dirt to a damaged part of armor or some such (maybe leaving out the more intricate paint aps like the antenna).

The articulation is a more integral part of making a toy fun though, IMO.  I could've stood less on Yarna probably, but honestly Cantina aliens I think articulation partially makes them more appealing to kids.  They're as poseable as their favorite Clone or whatnot.  Every little bit helps there when they're not the kid-targeted figure.  The articulation, over the deco, really makes the toy in and of itself more enjoyable though, to play with, so I'm a much larger fan of articulated figures...

If the ankles are sculpted straight ala the Death Star Gunner, I can see not including ankle articulation a lot of the time.  I'd drop that long before I dropped elbows or something that impacts the ability to hold accessories.  I also don't mind angle-cut elbows as well, most of the time.  I prefer them on the more action-oriented characters but I could see less ball/socket elbows and more angle-cuts on cantina aliens.

On Cody though, articulation was a must I believe.

On Cody?  Or Troops?  I agree.  Totally necessary for the collector/adult double-dip, and kids are going to buy it either way.  2006 Cody and Scorch were huge hits despite their articulation-related handicaps.

With Cantina Aliens?  Eh.  The ball-jointed elbows have done nothing to improve how the figure functions in a diorama or elsewhere.  The 2007 aliens you bring up had swivel elbows, and they were actually just fine-- perfect to hold a drink or a blaster.  This sort of thing is wildly unacceptable for a trooper, but for an action-free character?  Eh.  I was more impressed with the overall "oomph" of the 2007 and early 2009 aliens (M'iyoom Onith, Elis Helrot, Trinto Duaba & Dice Ibegon, Pons Limbic*).

*-- yes, I know he has ball elbows, but he had a table and overall better deco.

While I'm a huge stickler for toys being toys, Cantina Aliens are, for all practical purposes, made for old farts who stand them on a shelf or diorama.  If there are any figures in the modern line where corners can be cut, I'd say cantina elbows would be it.  (Well, maybe articulated limbs under the "chess piece" figures where it doesn't make a difference anyway.  But then ball vs. swivel cantina alien elbows.)

honestly Cantina aliens I think articulation partially makes them more appealing to kids.

Evidence says kids aren't buying Cantina aliens, articulation is likely not a significant factor.  A toy's intrinsic (or carefully crafted by millions of marketing dollars) coolness tends to push them the most.

True, but articulation is ultimately a major component (these days anyway it seems) of what makes a toy "cool" once the child (or adult) has it...  To me, the articulation has always been the equivalent of the cockpit fitting most figures, or the action feature that actually garners a smile when it works.  The articulation may not make/break certain figures, and Cantina dudes are certainly in their category where articulation may not completely make them, but I'd prefer having at least the angle-cut elbow and some kind of knee articualtion over no articulation at the elbow at all and so on.  Without that, it may be "fine" to some, but for others it's disappointing, and a kid somewhere, someday, is going to end up with one of them and probably will be less thrilled with it compared to other figures they have that they may look at as better.  I've seen that happen first-hand.

I'm totally ok with angle-cut joints though...  I'm even ok with them on many troopers like the AT-AT Driver, Death Star Gunner, etc.  On armored troopers, not so much, but it has worked on other troopers in the past...

I really feel articulation is part of what makes an action figure, an action figure though...  or more basic, a toy a toy.  Deco is important too though and I'm disappointed that since 2008 there have been clear cuts in that department.  Hasbro's not doing the washes the same as they had been, and other points of contention.  It's disappointing.  I'll still gladly take 2009 Cody over 2006 Cody though.  My kid's asking for the new one too and he isn't that into SW toys anymore even.

Cracked open this set of 6 tonight and I'm actually a little bit more impressed than I thought I would be.

First of the character selection is a bit lacking IMO...throw out Koon especially and the again shoehorned in concept art IG-88 for a Padme and Emperor (senate or office duel) and you might have something.  Repack EpIII Anakin and Obi-Wan and you really have something.  Anyhoo...

As figures all 6 are great...random thoughts:

Utai sucks that it wasn't Utais :(  He's well done but I feel a bit cheated out of some dough

Plo Koon is totally out of the question a huge head scratcher for inclusion...it is a great figure articulation wise and that is welcome...no full robe...the mask sucks ass and does not stay on...and there are 50 Plo Koons already at Wal Mart right now if you want him...lame

Agen Kolar was my surprise thought I would hate him but actually love him.  I cannot believe they screwed up the lightsaber though. Especially when the picture on the back shows blue

Cody is great...good points on the deco though Adam

Jeremy Bulloch sucks but is a nice figure.  They must have had this in the parking lot for a long ass time...I get the nod but it is one of those stick him on the shelf filler figures (see Willrow Hood)

IG-88 again is nice but doesn't make a lot of sense here...at the very least they should have flip flopped and have the concept Art Ki Adi in this wave and IG in the ANH wave.

So, they are good but I'm with Jeff.  I'm ROTSed out about now...they don't seem to want to touch Padme or the Emperors from this film...everything else is pretty much perfect as is IMO so I'd be OK if they skip EpIII for about 5 years like they have more or less with EpI

Not easily.  You could dremel down the Evo Fett peg ball to fit the head, but it's too big for the Fett Helmet to fit on it anyway.  Same goes for VOTC Fett, the head ball is way too big for Jeremoch's head.

Does the boil & pop method work on ball jointed torsos? Cody's belt is assembled upside down placing the colored ammo boxes on the wrong sides of the body as well as Obi-Wan's hilt and I'd like to correct it.

I got a chance to open these over the weekend too, and it isn't too bad a wave.  I felt much the same as when the wave was first announced, it just isn't all that exciting.  Not that the figures are bad though.  I really like the update on Cody, a figure that did need it (especially articulation-wise).  The Agen Kolar figure is nice too.  I'm a fan of Plo Koon, but as others have said, I'm not sure that this figure is really necessary.  Their are some minor improvements, and the saber gauntlet is cool, but the face mask just doesn't seem to be executed very well.  The Utai is nicely done, but a two pack would have been better.  Colton is cool just for the aspect that it is Jeremy Bulloch's character.  I actually really like the concept IG-88, aside from the odd wave placement.  It just looks "old sci-fi"-ish to me, and I really enjoy it.  Overall, a pretty nice wave, but just a little boring I think.  I also might be a little ROTS-ed out.  If they would put out the requested Palpatines and Padmes, I think I'd be pretty happy with the lineup we have from that movie now.

I'm surprised Hasbro just didn't go out for an alternate head. That would have been much easier asthetically, although of course there would be costs.

Post by: Jesse James on November 11, 2009, 02:44 AM
I agree with the previous opinions on this wave...

I wasn't compelled to buy any of these figures twice, except maybe IG-88 which is really a badass looking concept figure.  Aside from him though, they're just boring and I'm wondering if I too am burned out a bit on ROTS maybe.

-Jeremy Bulloch guy...  I like the cameo figure idea.  He's boring though, just as Antilles and Organa were in the similar duds.  I find it funny so many people throw a canniption over Wilrow Hood though at other sites, but not this figure.  Go figure.  I'm also going to forever call him "Ham Hands Jeremy" because of those giant mits he has.  Weird!

-Agen Kolar...  This figure just feels unnecessary to me.  I liked the ROTS figure a lot, and this one's just not different enough for me to care.  Maybe because he does so little in ROTS too, but I'm just "meh" with him.  Plus again no saber hilt.  WTF?  Plus the apparantly wrong color saber to boot.

-Plo Koon...  I actually like Plo "Beef Curtains" Koon more than others I guess, but his mask DOES fall off quite easily.  I like the updated sculpt, the removable mask, the EU saber gauntlet, and better articulation...  I dislike no saber hilt (again), his mask falling off, and a general lack of NEED for more Plo...  Though I'd say I blame that 100% on the Legends figure, and would rather be swimming in a sea of a better Jedi like this one than the Legends figure is.  That Plo Legends though needs axed now, as does Sae Sae Tinn.

-Utai...  I could live without EVER getting another tiny figure alone, again.  A figure like the Utai or a pod racer needs a big accessory.  Jawas come with droids, Ugnaughts had computer consoles...  Utai should've had cargo boxes or something, anything.  Likewise on Podracers...  Pack them in 2's or don't make them.  I'm serious.  I don't give a **** about Ben Quadrinaros or Utai enough to pay $8 for them because I want the droid part that bad.  Jawas and Ewoks are done fantastically, and I wish that was the final model for "tiny" figures.  Call me a jerk for that, but it's how I feel.

-Concept IG-88...  BADASS!!!!  I'll buy a 2nd easily if I see another.  My favorite of the wave hands down.I like the pistols too, and how they holster.  Very clever I felt.  Just a superb figure though, and well sculpted, articulated, decorated, accessorized.  I like it!

-Commander Cody...  Almost as much as I love Concept IG-88, I liked Commander Cody.  I was actually surprised how much once I got him.  He's a very worthy update due to the previous figure's oddly sculpted ankles other details.  The articulation updates are incredibly helpful posing him though with ball/jointed hips now and the ankle joints and shoulder joint updates.  My sample's got a pretty nice paintjob actually.  He does lack a silver antenna which is weird because there's a dab of silver just below it actually so it wouldn't have been too difficult to fix that.  The antenna's a tad thick in sculpt as well, compared to the previous figure.  I also noticed the small shoulder logo is missing but I don't think that's all that major.  Annoying, but I wouldn't cite it as Fett's chest logo (in terms of importance), so I'm not bothered.

I like that the oranges are a bit more subdued, there is a lot of damage and deco markings added to this figure that the previous one lacks (grey on the forearms, grey soles of his boots, etc.).  There is indeed damage sculpted in without paint in it but the previous figure's no different.  It's odd and I'm not sure whereall Cody should have damage deco at this point, and where he shouldn't.  His legs seem to lack damage deco all together though, just sculpted pock marks in his armor.

His accessories are nice too...  Helmet, holo sidious (that's teeny tiny), tiny communicator sidious attaches to, and a blaster rifle and backpack.  Everything Cody should have.  Very nice.  I may actually consider a 2nd Cody for a deco update or something.  I like that his head has a nice updated deco with a ring of distinguished grey...  He's lived a long life for a Clone so I find that neat.

And lastly...

-Terminator BAD guy...  Not my favorite by a longshot.  I don't know who he is, and I don't really dig him much.  I won't work to build a 2nd for sure, which I often do with a lot of droids.  This one's lame though.  NJO I think, not sure, but not a figure I'm wild about.  Not a wave I'm over cartwheeling about.  I like them, I'm glad I have them, but I'm glad I can move on now to other stuff.

I picked up an opener set of this wave this morning and I just opened it now.

I gotta say this wave is really nice and with the exception of the ANH continues a pretty good trend of new figures in the 2009 Black/White Legacy Collection.

The Commander Cody figure is a nice upgrade, the ball jointed hips are a nice touch. I can't get the lightsaber to plug into the hole in my Cody's belt, which is okay since as others have pointed out, the belt was put in upside down.

The Jeremoch Colton figure is nice, I think I like it because now we have a third "behind the scenes" cameo figure - for everyone out there who likes to get figures signed, you now have something to get Jeremy Bulloch to sign that is actually a representation of him.

The Utai is a nice sculpt and well articulated.

Plo Koon and Agen Kolar are nice upgrades/updates of the previous releases - now if Hasbro would just stop putting the older version of Plo Koon in their Legends line, we'll be all set.

The Concept IG-88 fits in nicely with the McQuarrie figures from 2007. I'm sorta confused as to why the Concept Ki-Adi-Mundi wasn't in this wave and the IG-88 wasn't in with the ANH wave, but oh well.

At first when I saw photos of the YVH-1 I was like "what is the Terminator endo-skeleton doing in the SW line?" but once I learned the story behind these droids, I was cool with it being offered. It's definitely a nice addition to the BAD sub-set of figures.

I'm hoping we get a Concept Plo Koon sometime down the road. If you notice, the Plo Koon and Ki-Adi Mundi concepts have similar outifts:

Customizers could take advantage of the new ANH-wave Mundi concept figure.

I opened this wave last night and I have to say, while the figures are well executed, this is one of the most lack-luster waves to date. I hate the Colton figure, totally boring. I dig the Concept IG-88 and the Utai, and the Cody is a welcome upgrade, but also having two other upgrades is way too much. I also have no love for the BAD. It's nice looking, but I have no idea who the character is. I'm looking forward to the ESB wave.

Wow...I'd never heard of the build-a-droid figure from this wave, so I googled it. As I'm sure you all know, it's a Yuzhan Vong "hunter" droid. Wow...as if the Vong weren't already the most un-original thing to hit Star Wars, we now have blatant Terminator rip-offs. I mean, that thing is a Terminator...with extremely minimal alterations. Very disappointing...

I can.  There's a little cottage industry on eBay that's propogated by these thieves.  They rip off the BAD parts and sell the droid complete online.  And whoever finds the actual figure at retail sans BAD parts is just SOL.

I would gladly take those without the crappiest BAD of all time!

This was one of the only BAD's I wasn't compelled to want a 2nd of.  I built 2nds of a number of droids, sometimes even 3rds, but this one I lamented getting stuck with any extra part of him. :)

I too have been building 2nd (and in two instances so far 3rds) of the B-A-Ds and I already have two of this droid built and if I could easily score the remaining four parts I'd need to have a third, I'd gladly do it. But I'm not inclined to re-buy four figures just to get the parts. If they put this figure out in the Legends line fully built, then I'd gladly grab a few more.

I guess I'm a tad bit forgiving when it comes to this addition to the Star Wars Expanded Universe - but they do look A LOT like Terminator Endoskeletons. The funny thing is that I'd take this B-A-D anyday over the endoskeleton crap that Playmates produced for the latest Terminator movie - I had originally planned on picking up a couple of them, but after I saw them, it was an easy pass.

For me, the part I really don't understand is that these were built to throw the Yuzhan Vong off in battle since they supposedly looked like droid version of Vong warriors. However, I now have a couple Vong warriors and I gotta say that this droid looks nothing like the Vong that Hasbro gave us in the Comic pack. Am I missing something? Admittedly, I haven't read any of the NJO books, so perhaps I am definitely missing something.

I can't wait until they make the companion Build-A-Sarah-Connor figure.

With the new BOGO packs covering the TPM and ROTJ waves plus Saga Legends, it's a wonder if the BOGO sets will spread over to the ROTS wave ... maybe even the ESB wave? EU wave? Clone Wars line?

I picked up a few of these figures todau:

-Eeth Koth
-Plo Koon
-Utai
-Jeremy Colton

Ok figures....I'd really like to find the Cody and I'd get the IG-88 to finish the B-A-D.

BTW....if anyone has an extra left arm and right leg for the droid I'd be happy to take them off your hands.

All I've seen in person of this wave so far has been Mr. Utai... was disappointed that any of the others weren't around.  :(
