Title: happy tree friends?
Post by: jokabofe on August 3, 2004, 07:41 PM
anybody out there like the happy tree friends (http://www.happytreefriends.com)? if you have no idea what i'm talking about, click the link and watch some of the episodes online. they are pretty short. most of these are from volume 1.

i got hooked on them a while back, they are just soooo amusing. i picked up the first dvd when it came out:

last week, i scored the third volume. more insanity:

and today, i find this on entertainmentearth.com (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=SVSDCCFLIPPY):

so naturally, i had to order it. i had to. it was an exclusive at last weeks sdcc (see matt, i didn't know about that one, otherwise i would have asked you to pick it up for me  ;D ). i hope they make a whole line of figures for this show. awesome.

The Happy Tree Friends have been around for a while...very funny stuff though.

They put a bunch of episodes on DVD and they were on sale at Best Buy not too long ago.

Am I the only person that can listen to that theme song over and over...and over...and over....and over again?  It's delightfully twisted.  :)

So I'm trying to figure out which event inspired the other:

The Happy Tree Friends "Out On a Limb" (http://happytreefriends.atomfilms.com/watch_episodes/flash/play.asp?episode=limb) or Aron Ralston (http://outside.away.com/outside/features/200409/aron_ralston_1.html) who had to cut off his arm when it became pinned by a boulder while hiking alone in Blue John Canyon.

Did Aron inspire Happy Tree Friends?

Or did Happy Tree Friends save Aron Ralston by teaching him what had to be done?

Happy Tree Friends have been around a lot longer than Aaron Ralston's ill fated hiking trip...and a lot more funny!

Can we start abbreviating Happy Tree Friends as HTF? Or will everyone think we mean Hard To Find?

I know HTF has been around awhile, but I meant the one specific episode where moose meets tree. You're right that Aron is less funny than HTF, except that he spells his name funny.

We could go this route, and say Gatts from a Japenese anime, called Berserk, showed them both what to do.

I was recently made aware of these. The Halloween and Xmas episodes were quite disturbing, but the one with the father and baby boy on the beach was just wrong!

I loved it!
