Autopick for me.  Gives us more time to pre-rank our players too.

I'm about 99% sure that I won't be able to make the draft.  I'm a little confused about pre-ranking of players.  If I leave it alone, my players will be picked based on the default settings and the highest ranked player available will be added to my team, right?  Do they pick QBs first, WRs second, etc. or can any one be picked at any time?  I assume the latter, like a "real" draft.

I'm thinking I might just leave the default settings and "wing" it and see what I come up with.

Other Toy Lines / Re: Modern Masters of the Universe
« on: July 16, 2003, 08:36 AM »
mosnab, I don't collect this line but do look at them in the stores.  The only fig I never saw on the shelves (not counting new waves such as Whiplash, Two Bad and later) is Merman.   Every other fig was readily available, including Beastman and Stratos, whom from what I've gathered were somewhat hard to find.

You're probably going to have to resort to ebay if your interested in any of the older figs, as they have pretty much dried up.  Most likely the latest wave available in the stores would be Prince Adam and Sy-clone, with Whiplash, Two Badd, Man-E-Faces and Buzz-off showing up shortly (if not out already).  Walmart does have some of the older figs (TrapJaw, Orko, Teela, Triklops) availabe with a video.  I believe the figs are the same exact ones as their single card counterparts, so it might be worth a look.

That's right.  If you're a child of the 80s, everyone's favorite gross out trading cards are making a comeback.  Read all about it here.

I had fun collecting these back in the day.  In fact I even went as far as designing some of my own.  I had a composition notebook filled with my own creations, such as "Bloody Mary" (a vampire), among others.  Man, I wish I knew where that notebook was.

What do you think?  Another 80s property trying to recapture old glory ala GIJoe and Transformers geared towards the twentysomethings that were their original customers or are they trying to snare the GenXers of today?  I think its the former, kids now a days have seen alot worse.  I must admit, I'm mildly interested in checking these out.

JD Sports Forum! / Re: Who's Your NFL Team?
« on: July 15, 2003, 07:11 AM »
Matt and Chris, I know the Bucs were 2002 champs. I was stating that the Eagles would win this year (2003)

Even though the Super Bowl is in January (or February in an extreme case  :( ), the winner of the SB are champs for the year in which the season started.  In the Bucs case, 2002.  In the Eagles case, 2003  ;)  If I'm wrong, then blame Sports Illustrated.  I have the Patriots special edition SI from after they won the SB and it says 2001 Super Bowl Champions., even though they won it all in February 2002.

JD Sports Forum! / Re: Vroom! Jedidefender NASCAR thread
« on: July 14, 2003, 01:01 PM »
Just look at my avatar.

I've been to three races, all at Loudon in New Hampshire (not going next week)  Its definitely different live and in person.  And its an all day event, we're usually up at the speedway by 7 am for a 1 pm race.  The tailgating at a Nascar event rivals football (which I love too)

And you got to love a sport that lets you bring a cooler of beer into the venue with you ;)

Just last week I checked what was coming out and wrote them down on my calender.  Good to have a thread here for easy access.  Thanks Virex.

Man, September 2nd is going to be an expensive day.  I'll be picking up CSI:2nd season, all three John Hughes movies, and PCU.  That's a $100+ day  :o

In addition to those, I'll be picking up:

-Daredevil (Possibly)
-Casablanca
-NL Vacation
-LOTR:TTT theatrical and extended
-Simpsons: 3rd season
-Scarface
-A Mighty Wind
-Fargo
-A Family Guy vol 2
-NL Christmas Vacation
-Indiana Jones (duh!!, who isnn't picking this one up?)
-Finding Nemo
-T3
-X2

There are a few that I'm probably missing, but damn I need to either hit the lottery or get another job.

The Bullpen / Marvel Legends
« on: July 11, 2003, 01:56 PM »
I found wave IV last night.  Plenty of Punishers and Beasts, no Elektra and one Gambit.  I picked up a Beast and the Gambit for a trade with Scott.

Beast is an awesome figure.  Looks cool no matter the pose.  Right now, I have him in  a sitting position with his legs crossed like he's reading a book and pondering.  Now if I can only find a book to scale to put in his hand, it'll complete the picture.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Twist Ties... I Hate 'Em!
« on: July 11, 2003, 07:01 AM »
I hate them too.

On a slightly related note, how do they originally twist the ties?  Is there a machine or is some poor soul over in Taiwan making $0.50 an hour doing it by hand?
