I picked up the AVP 2-disc set today.  Haven't watched any extras yet, but I watched the movie tonight.  Extra scenes = pretty good.  A little bit of character and story development that was left out of the theatrical version.  Nothing groundbreaking, but nicely done.  On the other hand...Extra violence & gore = give me a ******* break.  Using CGI to burgandy up the bloody scenes just looked ridiculous.

If that link doesn't work click "All League Tools" in the lower right corner, then select "Draft Results".

Why not?  :)

Name: John Hamm
Age: 32
Occupation: Project/Admin Support for an insurance company
Location: Near Kansas City
Status: Married 7 1/2 years
Children: 2 girls
Pets: Dos gatos - Stimpy & Smokey
Teams/Sports: MLB (Royals & White Sox), College Hoops (Kansas Jayhawks) and some NBA
Music: Yes, thank you.  :)  I listen to a ton of stuff, particularly stuff that has odd times and experimentation.

I started getting Star Wars toys when they came out and have been a fan of the movies since.  I'm pretty much just a vintage collector, but I think some of the newer pieces look pretty good.  I'm also a big fan of the Alien movies, and while I don't collect much of it anymore I used to have a huge Alien collection (time to pimp out my site, www.8thpassenger.com).  ;)  I actually got out of collecting in April of 2003 because I felt it was the "responsible" thing to do and that I had better things to spend money on.  Later that year I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and in the course of seriously evaluating my life I realized that collecting was one of the true enjoyments I have (along with music and of course my family).  So later that year I got back into it, but financial constraints (a wife in grad school) have hindered that.  I'm hoping to pick back up full-force some time real soon.

I haven't done much musically lately, but I can play a bit of drums, bass, and guitar.  I used to write a bunch of music, but unfortunately a computer crash caused me to lose everything I'd written back in 2002 (23 songs, if I remember right), and I have had a bad case of writer's block since then.  Right now I'm instrument-less, but hope to get a guitar some time early in 2006.

That's about it for me.

My votes go to Ortiz and Pujols.

Oh, and I find it appalling that Carpenter's Cy Young announcement was second fiddle on mlb.yahoo.com to Palmeiro not being charged.  Oi.

I'm sure it would have been interesting if it was actually real.  ;)

I don't even pay attention to standings this early in the season.  A couple of good games can bump you from 8th to 1st, and a couple of bad games can put you in the cellar.  Then you can rebound the next day.  Usually I don't really notice the standings until mid-way through the season.

About the deleted scenes:

I would have liked seeing the "seeds of the rebellion" scenes implemented into the movie except for one thing...the acting was horrendous.  The delivery in those lines were awful for the most part, especially Jimmy Smits'

The Yoda arrival scene was probably incredibly powerful in the context of the movie, but as a stand-alone scene it didn't do much for me.  Too bad they left it out though.

I liked Shaak Ti's death and the descent into the water (especially the chemistry between Obi & Anakin with their signals), but I think including that whole bit into the movie might have made it drag a bit much.

The discussion about the plot to kill the Jedi was just fine the way they ultimately did it.  No great loss.

It's made it down to the $2.15 range in the KC area the last couple of days.  I was ecstatic to fill up on only $31 and some change.   ::)

I found Porcupine Tree at emusic.com.  It's not the greatest download site by any stretch of the imagination, but you can find some obscure stuff there.  You get 40 songs free for signing up.

Speaking of Porcupine Tree, I'm finally getting a chance to listen to the CD I downloaded (Signify).  Pretty good from what I've heard!  :)

Saw this while upgrading AdAware today:

Is it cold in there, or are those some horribly misplaced wrinkles in her blouse?

I forgot to mention a good one - Laundry.  Tim "Herb" Alexander plays drums for them.  As far as I know they have two albums out, "Blacktongue" and "Motivator".  Dark and moody stuff, not incredibly heavy and very good.

Don't get mad at me, but I hate Linkin Park.  :)  When they first came out I thought they were Ok, decent enough to get their first album.  Then while listening to it I realized they were the single most predictable band on the planet.  I even bought their second album because I'd heard it was better, only to find it further backed up my opinion.  Their arrangements were virtually the same from one song to the next, which only minor variations in a few cases.  Considering my love for songs complex and unpredictable, that didn't settle well with me.  ;)

Dream Theater- get the Images and Words album. Now.

I&W is actually a lesser favorite Dream Theater album for me.  I think a lot of it has to do with Portnoy's drums though...that sampled snare drum just *sucks*.  So many hits that should have been ghost notes but ended up with the same dynamics as a solid hit.  Bad bad bad decision on the producer's part.  I think my favorites are Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence (particularly the 1st disc) and the song "Change of Seasons".

So how's the search going?  Are any of these suggestions providing some new favorites?

Funny, I didn't realize the 2006 NBA drafted had occured yet.  ;)  He was actually a 2000 pick.  Interesting trade.  I think Desmond will turn it up a notch with the Hornets.
