KBZ, different strokes for different folks. I have 1 set, have had 7, and helped 7 other collectors in the area get one. I have no problem with you hoarding if your helping others in your area.  Just comes down to what you want. I only want 1 and I got one. IF my son wants one, then I would have gotten one for him.

I'm really annoyed that people can't find these sets.  If I could actually find them around me, I'd be grabbing them up for folks, but since that one day I saw (and got) the Clone and Sith sets last month, it's been nothing but Anakins (and those are few and far between).  But hey, the Jedi vs. Sith, Jedi vs. Separatists, Jedi vs. Tree-Hugging Hippies, and Jedi vs. The Neighborhood Watch Battle Packs are keeping the shelves warm for when the Evolutions sets finally do show up, so there's nothing to worry about.   ::)

All kidding aside, the fact that Hasbro is pushing (and shipping) a metric ton of these Battle Packs while the Evolutions line, which are some of the best figures they've ever done, is getting the short shift is really irritating.  I'm beginning to wonder if that variant of the Clone set will even make it to retail at this point, and if it does, if anyone will be able to find it before it becomes the next "VHTF HOT OMG WTF" item on Ebay.

Thanks.  I just can't resist these things - like I mentioned elsewhere, I've been trying to help some people out - I've spread a few around, left a (small) number behind - but have also bought a bunch.

It really does seem like I find them every time I go looking... I found another one today.

Here's some pictures I took this evening:

Good.  Lord.   ;D  I felt guilty buying just ONE for myself (pinching pennies at the moment.)  That's amazing.

Polished granite temporarily covered with clones - no problems there.

Quality over quantity I guess...

After I loaded up on SA Clones I managaed to get myself to stop for the most part - then these sets hit.  Super Articulated Troops just do it for me I guess... I can't help myself.

It's the Sandtrooper mainly that I want - but they're all great and the Pilot helmet option is a nice addition as well.

I guess it's all about location, because here in LA, the Battlebacks are few and far in between, same as evolutions. Neither sit and neither are appearing in mass quantity.

Don't we have a thread about quoting other posters out of context?  ;)

Even though I don't have the VOTC Stormie in front of me at the moment, I can tell you the most obvious differences I've noticed in the sculpt off the top of my head:

-There is no waist articulation at all on the Evo Sandtrooper
-The hands are sculpted differently on the Evo Sandtrooper
-There is a hole/slot in the back of the torso for the backpack
-The belt is different (it has a pocket thing on the hip as opposed to the holster on the VOTC Stormtrooper, which is totally absent on the Sandtrooper)

Those are the most obvious things I could see, going by memory.  I want to say that the Sandtrooper's head is a different sculpt, but I can't say for sure.  It could have something to do with the rather short neck-ball and pauldron, but it just looks smaller this time around to me.
