Watto's Junk Yard / My Halloween Rant
« on: October 23, 2004, 10:40 PM »
I have fond memories of Halloween. I can remeber being mortified of the kid in the lifesize realistic Alf costume, or of the year I dressed as The Noid from the Pizza commercials, and I had a stack of Pizza Box's I stomped on. I remeber "Trick Or Treating" well into the night (8:00 was well into the night for me then) and then going home and chowing down on candy only after my mother and her boyfriend inspected it for razors, or AIDS, or whatnot. I remeber when kids used to egg cars, shaving cream each other on gate night, TP tree's, and cause all around chaos.

I remeber going into Haunted Houses and coming out with wet TMNT undies. Damnit, I remeber when EVERY house had a pumpkin carved, and on the porch, with some of those creepy fake spiderwebs. I remeber when we used to draw maps in crayon to mark all the houses that gave out the best candy!

Now, I ask kids, friends, and family what they are planning to do for Halloween...you know what response I get?

"I'm just gonna play video games all night. Eat some candy too."

What the hell? Halloween used to be a GREAT holiday. Now it's just a boring cheered up excuse for parents to take 3 year olds out for some snickers. Maybe it's just my town, but is Halloween dying near you too?

Maybe it's what inspired me to do a haunted house each year, to try and put some of the fear and fun back into halloween. I don't know.

I feel bitter. And old. >:(

How can you tell if some one is over their past relationship, or are just looking for a rebound relationship?

Thanks for helping me my friend!

Watto's Junk Yard / Subway serves breakfast now!
« on: October 16, 2004, 10:06 AM »
I love Subway. It's Great. Now, I'd eat there 2 meals a day if I could afford it, but that would hamper my toy collecting. I happened to be driving to the Vet to pick up medacine for the mutt, and saw a sign out front that said "NOW SERVING BREAKFAST" much to my suprise. Totaly rockin'!

On my way back, I stopped and tried it, and I have to say I'm now a fan. Today marks the death of McDonalds, I think, and starts a new era. This is a new era of fast food.

Subway is my new God. So deal with it.

Original Trilogy Collection / Promo Poster with Purchase of Star Wars
« on: October 15, 2004, 10:03 PM »
Remeber that Durge poster Hasbro said would be given out Exclusivley at KB? Well, I went in today and the fellah was hanging up the sign, and I was struck by one thing. A GIJoe Baroness figure. But seriously folks, I asked the guy "What's the poster?" He told me he didn't know, and that they hadn't unrolled one yet, so I cracked and bought a Tusken Raider from the OTC, and got my poster.

All I could read on the top was CLONE WARS so I figured it was a promo for the cartoon.

Then I got to thinking, and shifted it around a bit, fiddled, twisted, and discovered that it was a Durge action figure.

I went back in and scored a Cloud Pilot and a Lobot. Thus, another poster.

Anyone else's KB been doing this or is this old news or what?

Is this best suited for Clone Wars discussion?

With Pop culture being what it is today, some very spunky, annoying, and abrasive, yet slightly entertaining charachters have emerged. Often these celebrities become the butt end of bad satire and impersonations.

I really think it all started when Dave Chappelle did his Rick James show, and coined out the phrase "I'm Rick James, Bitch!". Suddenly springing up on my television set is Little John shouting "WHAT?! WHAT?! OKAY!!!" repeatedly, untill I just want to cut out my ears and use them to suffocate myself, and yet, through the abrasivness, I found it slightly hillarious and sometimes find myself immitaing him in the privacy of my own home.

Another one who resurfaced is Flavor Flav, one of the stars of The Surreal Life, along side JediDefender myth Dave Coulier, and drunk nudist star Brigitte Nielsen. Suddenly all over TV all I can hear is the respect removing howl of "FLAVOR FLAV!!!" as it slowly breaks my psyche.

I figure we all have a celebrity we wish would just stop with their in your face personality, so feel free to discuss them here.

Modern Classifieds / 14 Clones for sale Plus Speeder ARMY BUILDERS!
« on: October 14, 2004, 03:51 PM »
I have 14 Clone Troopers I'm aiming to sell. Varios ranks, poses, some from Clone Wars Army Builders.

I'm leaning toward 2 a figure, because theyre minty, save the amount of dust on them.

Make me an offer, keep in mind I'd like to sell them all as a lot if possible.

Talk about overkill. I wouldn't mind one as a novelty item though.

« on: October 6, 2004, 02:10 PM »
I'm an avid fan who watches this show obsessivly every tuesday when it's on. Is anyone else a fan? The show follows the lives of two Miami plastic surgeons and their family life, love life, and sex life. To me, it's truely the best show on television. Last night was the season finale, and it was the best episode I have seen. Fantastic!

Does anyone else watch this great show?

Does anyone have this wonder of made for TV product? I'm considering shelling out the 100 dollars for this seemingly fine piece of machinery, and I was wondering if any of us here have it?

I do alot of the cooking in the house, so I figured it would be handy to have this cullinary multi tool.

So anyone got one?

Watto's Junk Yard / Famine Art and Random Doodles Thread
« on: September 4, 2004, 08:07 AM »
Ok, let's start this thread off with the fact that I have been awake for nearly 24 hours because I think I'm an insomniac. I think, therefor, I am. Anyway! I couldn't sleep, so I got up, came to check to see if it was my Pick in Fantasy Football, with no such luck.

Then I brewed some coffee. And you know me...I like my coffee like I like my women. Cream, 2 sugars, and in a styrafoam cup with a plastic spoon. I only brewed half a pot. I opened up the coffee can, and much to my suprise the spoon was not visible, so after 3 good minutes of digging I say "To hell with it!" and pour the coffee into the filter from the can.

It seemed like a reasonable measure of coffee to water. Boy was I wrong. That stuff could melt the hair system off of Trumps head. I drank the whole half pot.

So then, in my hyper state, I got the idea that I HAD to draw one of my toys. And not just any toy, oh no, the one I have drawn at least 5 times. My Movie Maniacs Dog Alien from McFarlane.

So, I grabbed a pen, and went to work:

I call it "Bad Dog"

I enjoy it.

Then I decided I needed to make my own AIM smilies. Well, finish them rather. I started last night and finished them this morning.

Here are a few:

Then it hit me. I should ask you guys what you do when you can't sleep, and to share your zany experiences!

Watto's Junk Yard / Yahoo Games, anyone?
« on: September 1, 2004, 05:06 PM »
I was playing online last night, and granted I'm not very good, I got struck with an idea: A yahoo pool online tournament. Games best 2 out of 3, where the winners advance to face other winners down to the final two.

Anyone game?
