Appreciate the offer, but the collection is as complete as I can figure out how to make it, so I’m hanging onto the Vader’s. I’m just kidding around about how if I was smart, I’d take the money and run.
Considering that a loose Vader is getting $50 on eBay now, what I really should do is sell 17 of them instead of buying 6 Fetts.
You have to wonder what is really in it for the buyer. I imagine just a means to get the list of forum member email addresses for marketing purposes and to throw more ads on the front page. RS hasn’t been a news worthy site since Curto left almost a decade ago. The change in RS now or tomorrow is insignificant nowadays.
The value of user data is something that tends to go by most people without much regard, but there can be significant value there in large communities. In the case of RS, I don't know if that's even worth it because I get the sense that their user data might largely be dated. But I would not put it past the new owners to sell the user data to whomever.
I’m content with the friends I made here. Not a lot of new guys I feel I’d relate to, and not even a lot of older collectors I relate to anymore now that many of them are batshit insane.
Was shocked today to see a few of the old Rebels 2-packs on the pegs at 5 Below today! I picked up the Cadet Ezra/Kanan set along with the TIE Pilot/Stormtrooper set. The packaging is 100% legit but the figures themselves look almost like cheap knockoffs. Same basic sculpt but with cheap, super sloppy paint apps. Would love to hear the story behind these...
When was the last wave that shipped in close to quantity that could peg warm? Admittedly I mostly only hit Target, but two cases tops per wave per store near me.
