Other Collectibles / Star Wars Marvel Legends?
« on: April 20, 2008, 10:18 PM »
From that RS site...

"Rumored 2008 product...
024297 - $19.99 SW Marvel Legends 2pc (Is this just in the wrong category or might this be the articulated larger scale that folks have been wondering about for years now? Time will tell.)"

Wow.  I was just looking at the Conan Legends 2 pack.  Those things are articulated like crazy.  Maybe Hasbro will use the first Marvel Comics to make some larger scale SW figures.  Hopefully, they'll use a realistic paintjob!  Who first?  Luke and Vader?

The Vintage Collection / Big Items of the Future!
« on: April 10, 2008, 05:28 PM »
Wow.  First the AT-TE and the incredible huge-o Falcon.  Hasbro has gone far beyond my wildest hopes for large scale items.  Lets just say these things sell really well, what other large items could they produce?

Will they still be gunshy about playsets using the excuse that only large vehicles sell?

As I said in am earlier post, Hasbro is catching on that there is some serious money to be spent on large, QUALITY items...maybe they want the people they've lost to MR and GG back!

Any thoughts?

The Sailbarge is the only big vehicle that I can imagine having enough playability to be considered.

Watto's Junk Yard / Glass Display Cases?
« on: March 29, 2008, 01:12 PM »

In the next few months I'm going to buy a simple glass display case (or two) for my collection.  This one from Ikea looks pretty good.  Does anyone have any other ideas?

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Animated OT Figures?
« on: March 27, 2008, 08:57 PM »
If the CW3D show is very popular, and they maintain the animated style figures for 2-3 years, I wonder if they would pepper in some "classic" characters in the same style?  I only wonder this because of all of the Animated style statues that Gentle Giant releases of OT charcters.  I can see it happening, as well as "realistic" CW3D figures making it into the Legacy line.

Thoughts?

30th Anniversary Collection / McQuarrie 2009?
« on: February 8, 2008, 10:23 PM »
I had some time tonght to scan up some images of characters that could be done in a future McQuarrie line.   Most are obvious, but I think a new Luke or two would be fine, since the first one never hit the pegs.  I really loved the McQ figures this year, and I hope that Hasbo willl continue them.  Any ideas for others are welcome.

The Legacy Collection / TOY FAIR 2008!
« on: December 28, 2007, 08:57 PM »
Yeah, I know it's still six weeks away, and I still have a dozen or so 2007 figures to buy, but I'm already excited!  What does everyone think they'll show us, or what do you want to see?

I'm sure we'll see the first 2-3 waves of the 30th AC Collection, even though we've seen TFU and wave 1.
I'm hoping we'll see some Clone Wars stuff, however I have heard that this stuff might be kept under wraps until a newtwork has been signed up.  Who knows, ToyFair would be a great time to announce a network and premiere date.
I hope we'll find out what the Droid Factory waves are.
And, a littlle off topic, I'm looking forawrd to a whole lot of Indiana Jones stuff.

Any thoughts?

30th Anniversary Collection / Clones/Troopers...Are We Wrong?
« on: October 1, 2007, 09:21 PM »
For years, it seems, we've been buggung Hasbro to release more clones and more Stormtroopers.  With Legends, and wave 3 they really came through.  However, they all seem to be warming pegs.  In fact, I was at Target the other day and they had about 20 E2 and E3 clones, and nothing else.  We we wrong?

Watto's Junk Yard / Tonka?
« on: August 27, 2007, 10:47 PM »
I wanted to buy my 3 year old some Tonka Trucks for his birthday next month, so I wandered down the truck isle in TRU today.  I was surprised that the classic metal Tonkas were no longer available.  They now have two main lines, niether of them did anything for me.  One line was plastic and cartoony looking.  The others looked real, however they had remote controls and seemed a little sophisticated for the recommended 3 years of age.

Anyone know of any sturdy, large, non-electronic Tonka types toys?  Any help would be great.

Watto's Junk Yard / Iphoto/Mac Help...
« on: August 13, 2007, 01:53 PM »
Hey.  I was wondering if any one could give me a hand with this one...

I have iphoto on my Mac and have downloaded photos in the past.  Recently, I hooked up the camera and it and iphoto recognized the camara, but then when it gets to "Loading Camera" it just cycles and cycles and nothing happens.  It won't let me download photos...

Watto's Junk Yard / Is Indiana Jones a Hack?
« on: July 9, 2007, 12:19 PM »
I've been thinking about Indy lately, and it struck me that as an archeologist, he's kind of a hack.  All of his big finds (Ark of the Covenant, Sankara Stones, The Holy Grail, the Cross of Coronado,) were stumbled upon.  He didn't do any research for any of those things, he just picked up where others left off.  Even the gold statue from the opening of Raiders was located by Forrestal first.  So here's the questionn...was Indy any good at being an acheologist?

30th Anniversary Collection / Next Great Sub-Set?
« on: May 25, 2007, 08:55 PM »
I am really excited and loving all of the McQuarrie figures, and I love that fact that it's a really specific sub-set in the main collection.     Now that it seems that anything is possible, I'd love to see all 8 (10?) Holo chess characters made in the "real" forms.  All those wierd aliens would just be too cool for words...Can anyone think of any other great sub-sets for the future?

30th Anniversary Collection / I threw out a coin! I found it!
« on: May 16, 2007, 08:58 PM »
Oh No!  I accidentally tossed out out my #11 Han Solo coin!  I opened him last week day, but never took out the coin.  Yesterday I wnet on a cleaning spree and tossed all the SW cards and plastic that were sitting in a TRU bag.  So, here's the question...do I buy another just to complete the set?  Or go without as a reminder not to rush?

Y'know, it occured to me while I have been searching high and low for 30th AC wave 2, that Hasbro has both Speder-Man, and Transformers coming out right now.  Do you think that they have slowed the flow of SW to accomodate their other movie franchises?  Sure, both these lines will sell well, but only for a few months, then they will drop off, as opposed to SW, which always seems to do well.

Yes, I understand that Transformers has been around for ages, and will always be around, but does it realy have the selling power of SW?

I was just wondering if maybe Hasbro doesn't want to compete with itself...
