I received the Snake Plissken figures I ordered online today, unpunched and with solid paint apps. Can't wait for the Duke figure!  :)

I think I'm down for all the Predators and probably the Terminator stuff as well. Pulp Fiction is a maybe, but beyond that probably not too much.

LOL, not MY EU books! I hate that garbage...pure fan fiction, IMO.

But the CW cartoon stuff was all brilliant!  ???

LOL, touche!  :-X

Given that Disney doesn't care what your EU books say, shouldn't we wait to see the movie before we declare that the Empire's been gone for 30 years?

LOL, not MY EU books! I hate that garbage...pure fan fiction, IMO.

I'm not trying to jump to conclusions either, I just always felt like ROTJ was the ultimate happy ending, and that this was the end of the Empire and the new movies would focus on a different kind of threat.

That's not to say it can't be done right, just not what my personal preference would have been.

Meh, IMO there shouldn't even be Stormtroopers of any fashion 30 years after the fall of the Empire. (That'd be like having Nazis in full regalia running around in the 70's. Evil Empires disappear quickly) I kinda wish they would go in a different direction, like a Sith Army or something.

I didn't realize how much spoilerage I had missed already. Luke is now in captivity? His lightsaber floating through space is the opening shot? Huh???

Went ahead and pre-ordered the 18" Battle-Damaged Gypsy Danger with light up Plasma Cannon Arm from TRU...looks like it should be shipping in the next month or so.

Still excited to see Cherno Alpha in this scale...hopefully up next :)

Whoa, is this the Bridge Direct Smaug that was teased @ ToyFair? Or something totally different?

For 1&1/2" they might be able to squeeze in one of the shorter dwarfs maybe?

The Black Series 3.75" / Re: The Black Series 3.75" - Wave 4

I saw a lone Torryn Farr at 2 different Targets in the past 2 days, probably one of those random figures from a partial case that showed up as we have been hearing about.

Dang, that's awesome, I hope we can rely on her for that kind of info when 6" proto-Boba starts showing up.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series - 2014 Wave 2
« on: August 18, 2014, 10:39 AM »
This wave is totally MIA here, and pretty much every single retail location is drowning in pegwarmers, so I don't expect it to show up any time soon. I know it is early yet, but I still have a bad feeling about this one. By the time most of these places get around to ordering again we'll be on the Vader wave.

Yeah, this seems surprising as any to me. Guy seemed to have an abundance of blessings in life, that's for sure.

I happened to be in one of those eclectic, more hipster-oriented toy stores today (not a usual stop) and was shocked to see a carded Snake Plissken on the pegs! There was no way the kid in me could possibly resist grabbing it on the spot. Unfortunately they only had the "Version 2" figure and not the other one with the leather jacket, but I'm sure I will be able to find that easily enough.

There were also a couple of the Alien and Firefly figures there, first time I had seen the latter too.

I also saw they were stocking the SW 6" figures, so this is definitely going to be added to the regular store rotation now.

Finally cracked open the SDCC Exclusive Alien Egg Chamber last night and wanted to provide a brief review, sans pictures.

It is, as I figured it would be, a very well done effort overall, not perfect, but pretty great for what it is.

The base is very heavy, moreso than any of the vintage Star Wars ones. It is similar in mold though in that it's more or less hollow, but it's dense, much more hefty than I expected. The coloring is definitely more of a darker charcoal grey and there is no paint at all applied. The eggs appear to be molded separately, but firmly stuck in place. One of them is open to simulate the scene from the movie.

The cardboard background is pretty nice, well painted, gives some illusion of depth and perspective, with a tiny rendition of the Engineer at the very top, as if at the end of a long upward arching hallway. Like the old Kenner playsets, it comes with additional cardboard "feet" you need to fold up to attach it to the slots in the base.

The only real gripe I have is that the majority of the footpegs appear to be too large for the peg holes in the figures' feet. I tried them out with both Kane and the Alien, but could only get them to fit onto 2 out of the 7. Maybe they would work better with the other characters, I haven't tried them with the ones from the Mystery Eggs yet, but it seems like those should be universal.

Speaking of which, I have been able to snag 5 of the 8 Mystery figures so far, just need the clear Alien and both clear Ripleys and I am caught up.  :)

So, it appears the whole "taking it out of the package" deal is not so easy as I assumed. Some genius thought it would be a good idea to glue the $%^* plastic inserts to the diorama. And apparently they used the opposite of whatever kind of glue goes around their actual bubbles on cards, because this stuff is super-bonded.  ::)

Since there is no way to remove the plastic without ruining the diorama, I guess it is staying in place. I could cut it back I suppose but I'd just as soon keep this as close to original state as possible.

Pretty poor design flaw IMO, there was no similar issue with Boba and Han last year, though I guess that was less a diorama than just fancy packaging. Still, you could get the damn figures in and out at least without slicing the thing up.

Nice job on the actual characters though, I'm very pleased with how Jabba came out and Crumb is better than I expected.

Saw the rocketeer at b&n today

I was just coming here to post the same thing!

This is very encouraging IMO as I think there is a greater likelihood now we will see the other lines start showing up soon too - BTTF, Escape From NY, Firefly, etc.

I was not overly impressed with the Rocketeer sculpt really, but I'm sure he looks much cooler with the helmet and rocket pack on.
