1:6 Scale Figures and Collectibles / Re: 100th Luke
« on: August 4, 2006, 10:10 PM »
This is a great 12"....one word......STUFF!!!!!

Yes, lots of stuff!  I really like these 12"'ers like the 100th Luke, Ultimate Jango, ROTS Vader/Anakin.  Accessories kick butt.  The Luke was pretty hard to find, and I never saw one until I happened to spot one up on a shelf in an EB in the local mall, ran right over and snagged it!  I think it might have even been clearanced or mistkingly put on sale!

Vintage Kenner / One to go
« on: July 15, 2006, 12:56 PM »
Been holding off for a few years looking for a great deal on the last couple vintage figs I needed.  This morning I just met a guy and purchased 4 of the last 5 loose viontage I needed to complete the run(he just happened to be offering all the ones I needed, and was able to get them all in one shot, no shipping, etc.):

Lando General
Luke Poncho
Imperial Dignitarty
Amanaman

All are complete with weapns, and in the Mintiest condition I think I've ever seen loose!  VERY happy with my purchase!

Now I need to scour for a cheap deal on EV 9D9.   ;D

I grabbed one when I was down there a few weeks ago.  Love this one, it's only about $24 and worht every penny!

The only place i could find it in MGM was in the Tatooine traders store and they only had a handful on the shelf when I snagged mine.  It does have the Disney ST tag on it.

If all goes as planned I should be meeting and getting the following loose vintage today:

Lando General
Amanaman
Luke Poncho
Imperial Dignitary

I've been sitting on getting the last handful for a couple years now.  The offer became avail, and I could get them all at one pop, so I jumped....Cable grabbed the EV 9D9 or I probably would have had him too!

That leaves EV 9D9 as the only vintage figure I don't have.  Yakface being the only other one I don't have loose (I have Yak on a trilogo card, but will have to break down and buy him loose at some point.

I have no problems with Dustin, OR him winning, he's always been fine by me and has never treated me wrong.  Some may have a problem, and that's fine, we all have our personal opinions and they certainly won't all be the same on every issue.

...but yeah, I have to say that was REALLY unprofessional how ole Phil handled it.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: SAGA - how much have you bought so far?

Grabbed the Veers w/ Vader hologram   FINALLY!

Whew, that was exhausting.  I Reeeeeaaalllly wanted that one, mostly becasue in ESB Veers talks to the Vader holo, so that particular Figure/holo variant appealed to me.

Actually Veers w/Vader, and Boba Fett w/ Boba Fett holo were the only two specific Figure/holo combos I wanted to make sure I snagged.

Boba...

Between those AWESOME framed prequel posters on your walls, the other STAR WARS collectibles in the room, and your stunningly beautiful Home Theater set-up... I am envious!!!

Gorgeous, brother... simply gorgeous!!! And I really LOVE the STAR WARS image you selected to have on your TV for your photo!!!

Great job and congratulations.  Thanks a million for sharing!!

Warmest Regards,

Roberto DARKLORD Williams

I was going to build a custom cabinet, so there would be shelves on each side ovf the TV, and one long shelf running the whole way across the top of the TV.  No point right now.

Yours is the sweet setup.  The next place I get I'm thinking of somehow maybe getting a place that has a huge besement in need of remodeling and somehow build the TV into the wall.

Unfortunately, the posters don't show well, and those are the cheapo $19.99 frames from Suncoast, so the EPI one doesn't sit in it flat at all.  All 3 have mulitple autographs on them as well as the CIII posters on the right side.  There's also a couple surround speakers mounted to the corners above the couch.  Not the cleanest like yours, but it works.

Wow, 304 pegs dedicated to GH is overkill!

304 pegs dedicated to the regular saga figures is overkill!  ;^)

Collector's Tips / Re: Displaying
« on: January 29, 2006, 10:00 PM »
I buy the clear cases, THEN use clear pushpins on the cases, that way I don;t damage the figure at all.

But, if you're not using cases, I would probably push the pin in as close to the cardback as possible "pinning" it to the wall, but carefull not to use ecessive force in pushing the pin in so far it leaves a huge intestation on the back.

Someone in another forum had some great pics of sort of a shelf made kind of rsting the cardbacks in a "slot" kinda neat.

Collector's Tips / Re: removing stickers from card/bubble
« on: January 29, 2006, 09:58 PM »
Goo gone is probably the best way to remove stickers.  Bubbles are pretty easy, cardbacks are a little tougher.  You should practice on a cheap figure first before proceeding to that carded yackface.

typically a few drops of goo gone on a sticker and it will remove easily.  usually there is a little residue left over, and slight rubbing should remove it, however, rub too long, let the goo gone sink in too long then rubbing, etc. and you could end up taking a little of the paint off the cardback.

Still, it usually works pretty darn good.

Much of my basement is taken up with SW.  My stairwells, have a bunch of carded and autographed 8X10's. (stariwells are great usually unused space for things like posters, figs(in protective cases), photos)

An upstairs bedroom is filled with stuff, upstairs hallway is also lined with figs, mid-level family room is filled with busts, vintage figs, and other stuff.  Attic is filled with stuff in storage, and my garage (gasp, yes, but no where else to put it all) has my vintage arcade game, figures, store dsiplays, and some other stuff.
