Just checked...looks like it is the same one...maybe it has some sort of spiffy packaging for the exclusive or something.

:D, I was thinking the same thing Jeff.  Is this the same one that was released with the "Fast Through the Forest" set in the original Playskool line?  I'll have to check later on.  Really looking forward to seeing more of these on the shelves, I'm glad the line is continuing.

Original Trilogy Collection / Vintage OTC Figure Poster!

I just saw that as well Jeff, that poster is pretty sweet.  And agreed, the Chewie and R2 look pretty spiffy so far.  I'm really looking forward to what we'll see from Hasbro at Comic-Con.  At least we have confirmation that the ROTJ wave will be there.  Wonder what the Fett-man will look like too.  Thanks for posting that!

SuperHeroHype is reporting that Elisha Dushku is rumored to be up for the role of Black Cat in the next installment in the Spidey franchise.  Apparently, she read for the role of Mary Jane initially as well.  I have nothing against Dushku, but she does seem like an interesting choice to me.  Here's the article, but it doesn't provide much detail.  Again, just a rumor for now.

Filmforce has an article up talking about the four "lead" children have been cast for the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.  You can check out the details at the linky :).

The Bullpen / Marvel Legends
« on: July 13, 2004, 09:19 AM »
Thanks for the lists so far everyone, I always enjoy seeing what everyone has picked up...anyone have some pictures of their set up?  I definitely have some catching up or expanding to do with my Marvel collection...I hope to pick up some more figures in the future, once I figure out the space/room situation.  Overall, are you guys happy with your collections...are there any figures you think about now that you don't really care for?  The Legends line seems to be of pretty high quality overall, but I know some people aren't fans of certain figures.  I've been seeing lots of Series 5 at Wal-Mart around here, and I've been thinking about picking up something from that wave.  I've got Colossus, have thought about Sabertooth or Silver Surfer, we'll see.

Also, Nicklab, I noticed that you are looking for the Urban Legends 4-pack, and just thought I'd let you know that Amazon has it in stock for $9.98, with free shipping.  Probably not too bad a deal if you are still looking for it.

I just ordered Han, Leia, and Obi-Wan at Amazon. Yay!

I've been very tempted to do this as well, and I have actually been surprised that they have stayed "in stock" over there.  I did order a Han from them last week, while ordering some other stuff, but I have held off on the Obi and Leia so far.  I guess I'm afraid of ordering them (and paying a little more, with shipping), and then finding that they aren't nearly as "limited" as we originally thought.  I'm still tempted to order them though, and I know if figures from the next couple waves show up there, I probably will.

Also, forgot to mention earlier, I also picked up the Darth Vader TIE at TRU.  I never had this ship in any form before, so it was a good chance to pick it up (and in some nice packaging).  It is just sitting in the closet in the box for now though, I need some more room for ships (and all of this!) :)  Good luck to everyone in their searches!

Since this will give us 2 cups per movie, they technically owe us 2 Ep3 cups/figures. How are they going to rehash figures that aren't out yet?

Don't tempt them, there's always (SPOILERS for the very spoiler sensitive):

Vader, 3PO, R2, or Chewie they could fit in there somehow I'm sure. ::)

The Bullpen / Marvel Legends

I know what you mean, that is one of the reasons I'm really contemplating what to do about my Legends collecting.  I'd really like to broaden the collection, but they do take up a lot of space.  I'm trying to figure out how to move some more Star Wars stuff into my closet (shelving in there), so I can free up the extra bookcase for Marvel stuff.  With the Spidey stuff (and SS box set coming up) as well as the Legends I have and would like to pick up, I'm going to need some room.  Hmmm...at least the minimates are wee and only take up one little shelf right now.

Also, I see that Julius Marx has a new column up that contains lots of pictures of the Fantastic Four box set.  I'm thinking about picking this one up, to be able to get the whole shebang at once (and a little cheaper).  He also has the Spider-Man 2 Movie figures (Wave 4).  This is the pizza chuckin' Spidey and the bendy tentacles Doc Ock.  I've been holding off on getting a Doc Ock so far, to see what this one would be like.  Hopefully it will show around here (of course, I think the other version has disappeared around here as well right now).

Original Trilogy Collection / VOTC/OTC Purchases
« on: July 12, 2004, 02:11 PM »
Well, since it sounds like the OTC (and VOTC) are starting to show up around the country (even here in Nebraska!), I thought it would be nice to see what everyone is finding, buying, or passing on.  What do you have, what do you have left to get this year?  With the massive repacks, I know many will be having a Star Wars figure break here for awhile.

Here's what I've gotten so far:

Vintage Original Trilogy Collection
Han Solo (Amazon.com)

Original Trilogy Collection
Luke Skywalker - Dagobah (Wal-Mart)
Yoda - Dagobah (Wal-Mart)
Obi-Wan Kenobi Spirit - Dagobah (Wal-Mart)
R2-D2 - Dagobah (Wal-Mart)
Han Solo repack (Wal-Mart)

I've also seen a few more OTC repacks, but passed on them.  For now, I'm looking ahead to the rest of the VOTC line (maybe 2 of each, we'll see), the OTC Bespin wave, and repacks such as Bespin Luke, Gamorrean Guard, General Lando, Slave Leia, and possibly Bib Fortuna or the Jawas (their repaint looks pretty good).

I was just thinking about this....do you think that once these figures hit retail (well, they are at K-Mart, possibly TRU I guess), that they will have their own "peg space".  They should, since they are a different pricepoint, and the star cases take up a bit more space.  That said, are any of you seeing anywhere for these to go at your local stores?  The Wal-Marts, Targets, and TRU nearest us don't really have anywhere for these to go...and only have a few pegs period for Star Wars.  Just wondering if it was a sign of how soon these would be at mass-retail, or if they are just around the corner.  I'm placing an Amazon order sometime this week, and was tempted to tack on the Leia or Obi, but maybe I should be much more patient about things (and I probably will wait it out).  Just wondering when they will start hitting retail heavier, we don't have any K-Marts in the area :).

Also, on a side note, whatever happened to the C-3PO update Hasbro?  I hope we get a look at the rest of the line (ROTJ) at Comic-Con next week.

We need a Kingpin figure.

So true, so very true.  This is one of Marvel's biggest baddies (in more ways than one).  Surprised that he has been neglected this long, hopefully he is coming up soon.  I'd like to see what Toy Biz would do with a Kingpin figure.

Nice news scoop guys!  I know a lot of people aren't big fans of these, and they do seem to shelfwarm rather nicely...but I kind of like these, just for the fact of the glasses themselves.  For some reason I've always just liked those as collectibles, the figures they can keep for all I care (and drop the price :P).  Plus, these represent three of my favorite SW characters...so I definitely want to pick these up if they come out/show up around here.

On a side note...how many of you have been buying these?  If so, have you been buying them all?  So far, I've just picked up the OT sets (although still missing the Luke set).  I was tempted to get the PT ones too (just Maul has shown), just to have the "complete set"...and plus, I know if the rumored Episode III Vader w/glass is true, I'd want that one...and thus...all of them :).
