Vintage Kenner / Re: tusken raider ?
« on: April 16, 2008, 01:42 PM »
Thanks for the nice words Dale.

This is indeed mu old variation chart, I mad for Chris G a couple of years ago. Actually, I'm in the proces of updating and chaneing it at the moment. I will get rid of the rarity column and I'll mere the two variation columns into one. Instead of these I will ad a coo and a company column. This alos meens the foreign variations will not have the own part of the charty anymore, but all will be posted characrtewise.

This Tusken Raider is actually a new one to me. It was mention on RS earlier this week (judged from the pictures, this is the same as the large head variation discussed there), and that the first time I heard of it. I would say it's a European variation (possibly Palitoy), but I'm not sure at all.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Reasons for my absence

Correct I have been posting at RS, but mostly about CE, vintage collecting and trading, only very few in Wuhers. I have bought alot of SW merchandise in the autum compared to the amount I normally buy. And the fact is, there are more collectors at RS than here on JD.

Havn't been very active at forum.skywalker.dk neither, almost only to do administrative stuff.

Watto's Junk Yard / Reasons for my absence
« on: December 29, 2007, 07:45 AM »
Hello fella Defenders, sure you have missed me. Well here are the reasons for my absence from JD for so long.

In the spring my dad was diagnosed with lung-cancer and went to a surgery a couple of weeks before Celebration Europe. The doctors removed 1/3 of his right lung and two lymph nodes, he then went to have chemo but got pretty ill them with some strange infections. They found out he got kidneystones so he was not in condition to get any more chemo theraphy as the infection was close to knock him out for good.  Back in november and december the stones was removed and he went to the 3 month control for the cancer and fortunatly there was no signs of cancer left, but this have been a rough half year for him.

Besides i have been quite bussy myself as I did a talk on Danish Star Wars Merchandise at CE in London back in July and two talks at Euocon in Copenhagen in September, one of them in English the other in Danish. Also one of my coworkers was hospitalized for a while at the bussiest time of year back in May/June so this was a bit extra work for me.

Now everything seems to be back at a more normal scale as both my coworker and my dad are feeling much better.

btw: please don't joke on this Scott, Matt, Jamie, Brad (and others).

Conventions / Re: Convention in Denmark
« on: December 29, 2007, 07:32 AM »
Well news on the convention.

The convention was not held in 2007 for sevedral reasons. One of my co-organizer got a depression and didn't do her job getting locations etc. Then in the spring my dad was diagnosed with lung-cancer and went to a surgery a couple of weeks before Celebration Europe.

I did goto CE and did my talk on Danish Star Wars Merchandise and I also did two talks at Eurocon in Valby Copenhagen back in September.

I still plan having a convention here i Denmark with a celebrity guest (no not Brad, Scott og Matt).

Collections / Re: Finally pictures of my Star Wars collection

Thanks for the feedback. I recently found out that the darkskined Yoda actually is a Lili-Ledy figure. Quite embarressing, that I have had it four years without knowing it was a Lili-Ledy variation.

Finally, after years of waiting, here you go.

Last weekend, a friend and fellow Star Wars was here on a visit, and he shot a lot of pictures of my Star Wars collection. I deilvered the pictures to my dad for editing (crop, sharpen, focus etc.). He has better picture edit programmes than me, and more time to edit them. Beside, I havn't worked with graphic programmes since the good ol' Commodore 64 days, so I'm a bit rusty on that.

Since there are so many pictures, I have just poted links to them.

Whose **** did he suck to become a mod after being a member for 9 months?

Well on our forum (skywalker.dk), we have a member, who became admin after only 7 month on the forums. Ok both the webmaster an I had met her in real life (no funny jokes here please  ;)). But it's still a very fast promotion.

But this is a litle different, RS is a huge forum so becomming a mod after 9 month is a bit odd. Surely severel "older" member might have been a better choice.
