Is anyone getting sick of Roberts giving us the finger at almost every star wars fan site in creation?

What's awesome is that if Philip doesn't buy a bunch of votes at the last minute, allowing Dustin to win Dustin doesn't win, we can look forward all the fun we're gonna have next year, when a new "president" needs to be elected.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Or even if he does win there will always be the re-election campaign for twice the fun!

Since you all seemed to wnjoy my last post as RS - I thought I'd share my most recent.  I figure I'll be banned in about 2 hours :P

My post from the Dustin for Pres thread:

Dustin and Philip:

When you made the first post on the main page of 'scum, I came on here and raised the concern about the dual messages you were sending by it. I warned that the "commercial" nature of your appeals wasn't going to win any friends, influence people, or get our boy Dustin here elected. Many of your "supporters" here blasted me as being a bitter, jealous person, spiteful of Rebelscum, instead of hearing the considered points I was making. So far, it is looking like I was right.

A "nobody", in terms of the collecting community, is turning in more subsciptions than Dustin. A lot of that appears to be driven by the disdain for how Dustin has been presented. Good politicians know when the tide is against them and adjust to it. Instead you are continuing more of the same and the gap is widening.

There's still a chance for you to step up to the plate, but you are running out of time. From the free product given away by Philip's venture, it is obvious he is supporting you in your efforts. I think it's time you ask Philip to do something noble.

Philip, you've made some small coin off of Star Wars collectors through your endeavors over the past few years. As you have stated time and time again, you run it like a business so you can keep it going. I'd advocate that you start doing what socially responsible businesses do -- give back.

Why not offer to publically donate $10.00 to a charity for every subscription Dustin brings in between now and the end of the contest? (If he manages to bring in another 100 subscriptions -- which would seem to be a stretch -- that's only $1,000 -- a small part of your star wars collection budget for the year.) Have all his supporter sites get the word out. That would be a noble effort rather than the sad joke this is becoming.

The Fan Club SHOULD have done something meaningful with this contest -- something other than crass commercialism. Sadly they didn't. Here's your chance to show what REAL leadership within the collecting community should be.

Word has it Lucasland let Rayrob see a few early designs they were thinking about going with for these t-shirts, but he leaked them all in a chat room one night, and they were none too pleased about it.

But RayBob asked for all those anonymous people in that chat room, who could have been anyone, anywhere, with any motive and who'd never have to answer to him ever, to keep those t-shirt designs a secret.

So it's not his fault.

Yea...I was in that chatroom at the time. We were all so hyped up for ROTS, but we all swore we wouldn't post the pics anywhere...sure enough some jackass posted them in a thread on RS just a few hours later. I think his name started with a D, but I'm not sure. I've forgotten pretty much everyone from RS.

You have no idea how pissed I was when they were reposted. I tried to report them, but it took a while before they were taken down and with RS' traffic at the time, they spread fairly quickly. I had been checking a French news website for Star Wars info and saw them there a few days later. The guy was just an idiot...Ray n Quiet Rob ( who's true name we were told not to mention afterwards) made only one mistake, and that was trusting everyone in that chatroom without spending enough time to know if they could be trusted or not.

Latest results!

1.  uscwannabe                     201
2.  dustin@rebelscum.com   145

(Let's see. . .  I'm gonna try to do this one in my head, without using a pencil and scratch paper. . .)

56 down, five days to go. . .

(Is it over?  Can we go ahead and make the projection that USCWannabe will be the next president of the Star Wars Fan Club?)

Not if this man has anything to say about it.

Let's see...

57 x $39.95 = $2,277.15 minimum to buy the lead

Think they want it bad enough to drop $2500 on it?

Are you saying CreatureCantina (which sucks) is now endorsing Dustin?

Quote
BC: You've been, at times, heavy-handed as an administrator in the RebelScum forums. At times you've declared, almost gleefully, that it's Dustin's way or the highway. Do you think being a prick in those instances is coming back to bite you in the ass now?

That was pretty much the best question asked, ever.
