It looks like stormtrooper lucas is on ebay already. This seller is selling just the order form and stickers for the Lucas Stormtrooper figure. Probably stolen from cards that are on the pegs. You still have to mail in the order form and shipping. This guy wants $5.50 to ship you some small pieces of paper.

Well you can't get the stickers and orderform without opening up the clamshells - which I suppose would be possible to do via theft, but I'd guess the guy just isn't intersted in the Lucas and wants to recoup the costs of his VTSC purchases. The shipping costs aren't all that outrageous for Priority mail with confirmation.
The problem is, that he could put those in an envelope with a stamp for 40 cents.

Actually it is possible to get at the order form without opening the clamshell. There is just enough play in the plastic that you can reach your fingers inside and pull off the taped on plastic envelope. I tried that recently with a greedo I found and it wasn't hard to do. Most of these VTOC figures I've found have the order form stolen.

This one (http://cgi.ebay.com/Star-Wars-Vintage-Saga-Full-sealed-set-w-Lucas-6-figs_W0QQitemZ6054209613QQcategoryZ751QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) claims to have it in hand.

It is a miracle that the genuises at Hasbro did not see this coming. DUH!!

There are four of each VTSC hanging on the pegs at my local Wal*Mart all with the POP's/order form missing. The thief who returned them did a hack job, he just cut the bottom/corners at the seal. At least you can easily see if the POP's are still intact by looking through the side of the clamshells. Freaking douche bags.

IN HAND??? This seems a little fishy...

What was so wrong about cutting UPC codes out in the first place, you have to wonder. Why the whole mail-away thing is set up different than a process that has worked, and continues to work, for the last 30 years is just baffling.
So, let's see how we benefit from this mail-away:
1) Carded collectors have to buy an extra set if they can only find heat-sealed versions
2) All collectors have to be on their toes to not buy tampered goods, average buyers even more likely to be screwed
3) Even if you do get all of the parts, the free figure still runs you $4.95 on top of a $50 or greater purchase
4) The figure you get isn't even based on a vOTC/TSC sculpted figure, but a 6 year old one instead
As Hasbro is prone to saying lately, that's an awesome promotion.

It is the perfect deal for the perfect suckers. ::) The VTSC is selling incredibly well compared to the VOTC. Sure Greedo is going to peg warm like rotting carcass but the rest are moving.

My local Wal*Mart had a small endcap, and they sold through within 4 days, even Greedo! :P

I havent seen any since I got my second set. That'll probably change this weekend if Target sets up their endcap.

I've seen plenty around town, but the problem is half of them are missing the POPs. I actually want another set so I can get an opener GL.

I have just opened up my first set of these figures for Lucas and will hopefully get it out in the mail tommorrow. I was luck to find one of the heat sealed packages and had to saw them off to get the stickers. I don't know why Hasbro didn't have a requierment that you had to show proof of purchase with a recipet this time, to cut back on the stuipid ass thiefs. In the end those idioits will eventually get what is coming to them.

Well, if anything, it proves that there won't be any switcheroo of the body used at the last minute.
