Middle Earth / Re: Lord of the Rings Figures
« on: November 4, 2003, 10:30 PM »
I have some LOTR figures and I got the Treebeard figure last week.  It is one of the coolest toys in my collection including star wars figures.  Maybe Ephant Mon, Coleman Trebor and a few other are cooler than Treebeard.  A must get.

These last 3 days in Boston have felt like late August/early September.  Are you guys sure it's November?

That one is Shawnuttini Uttinbradley.  And I wouldn't mind seeing him on a SAGA card.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Jabba's Palace Wave Pics!

Luke Hologram:  It looks like it needs a little less color and a little more translucency.  But I have a feeling that if you can display this figure with a lightbulb behind it, it'd be stellar.  We'll find out.

Elom/J'Quille:  I noticed that this is the same figure, with a different head.  I don't really mind because as long as they are not standing right next to each other in Jabba's Palace, you won't be able to notice.  But man, they still look pretty cool.

Lando:  Bang!  Hasbro nailed it!  Even the ivory appearance of the mouth part of the helmet...

Rappertunie:  I never even noticed this thing before, but hey, it looks cool, and I dig it.

Bubo and his 2 friends:  I really want this for Bubo.  I've already got 5 B'Omarr monks from back in the internet exclusive day, I was obsessed with them after reading Tales From Jabba's Palace.  And I always wanted to toss Bib's head into one of those bowls.

TV-9D9 / Re: Clone Wars toons to be 5 minutes long?
« on: November 2, 2003, 11:25 AM »
I heard the same thing.  I assume that the 5 minutes include the intro and the credits and the little snippet of the next episode to be shown.

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: As expected... PEGWARMERS!
« on: November 2, 2003, 11:23 AM »
Targets in MA have been great for a few months, but now they're not so hot unless you're in the market for ARC Troopers, Rambo Yoda, or CW Anakin.  It's not surprising when you consider that most of us already scored these with a nifty FREE clone trooper at Wal Mart.  I'm pretty sure these three are going to need to be marked down to $2 or less to even have a shot at being sold now.  I, for one, just threw these in my custom fodder box and displayed the free clones that came with them.  But even if it were not for that, I doubt I'd have picked these up at suggested retail price.  Maybe just the ARC.

2 thoughts:

1.  It worked great on Shu Mai.

2.  After reading your thread title, I'll never think of Lord of the Flies the same way again.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Kitik Keedkak and pals
« on: November 1, 2003, 08:07 PM »
I agree that the 1st round of Cantina Packs would have flown off the pegs like they were on fire if new aliens like Hem Dazon, Kitik, and Myo were included instead of Momaw for a 2nd time, Ponda for a 3rd time, and Greedo for a 3rd time.  Unfortunately, members of retail management are not Star Wars collectors and could not have known that the 2nd Wave of Cantina sets would have sold much much better than that 1st round of crap.

Kitik has to be released somehow now that it's prototyped and everything.  It might just be slapped onto a SAGA card.

« on: November 1, 2003, 06:54 PM »
I'm sure I'll still buy 1 or 2, but if this were fully articulated able to hold the rifle with 2 hands, and maybe with a couple different head sculpts I'd have bought close to 15 of these.  We need something good for the AT-ATs to mow down, right?  Even so, he's a little better than the POTF2 trooper, but not by much at all.  At least he's beardless and a little more generic with a nifty little skirt.

Newbies / Re: Hey everyone
« on: October 21, 2003, 10:10 AM »

I caught myself helping to ruin a perfectly good topic about debt by getting wrapped up in arguing with Dressel, and remembered why I registered here in the first place.

So I'll try to make more quality posts here and vent all that nonsense over at the scum...

lol

That's awesome!

To JediDefender you are welcomed, yes.

Politics here, we discuss not.  Stay at Rebelscum, the debt arguments must.

My favorite from the article was when she declined an order of buffalo wings, gravely stating "I don't eat buffalo."

Where on the buffalo might the wings be hiding?  Buffalo fly now.

Evidently, she's not that huge of a celebrity either, in addition to not being incredibly bright.  I never even heard of her until I entered this thread just now.
