Saga '02-'04 / Re: NEW PICTURES of the other THREE PACK
« on: June 28, 2003, 11:11 AM »
If Yarael Poof and Yaddle can stand and be posed with some lightsabers from the accessory packs, then this is hands down the most exciting release of the year for me.  Yareal Poof looks awesome.

Shu Mai and Passel Argente look great too.  If you read The Approaching Storm, you know we got a little more insight into Shu Mai, that book made me want this figure even more.  She's like a ruthless little anorexic smurf, but cooler.

"Oh, between two pillows."

I heard on the news that this site was getting 1000 hits per second or something silly like that.

Lately email spam has been a much bigger problem than telemarketers.  The thing I hate most about telemarketers is that 10 second delay when you pick up the phone where you say, "hello" about six times before you get a person on the other end with their 5 minute soliloquey.

Anyhow, good law in my book.

Everything is a pre-order these days, isn't it?   :P

Internet ordered, anyhow.

Try collecting solely by visiting retail stores, that ought to be enough to kill your interest in the hobby for a long time  to come.  I'm pretty sure most collectors utilize the internet in some way, shape, or form to round out their collections now, if not obtain the majority of new wave figures.

 :D

Opening your figures is never a bad thing.  Personally, I can't decide whether collecting carded is better than loose or vice versa.  But I do know that I love my loose collection.

Dressel Rebel's solution:  I buy 2 of each figure (except army builders which usually amount to 15+ of each).  One to keep carded, one to open.

It's pretty much all conjecture at this point.

But here's to hoping somebody chokes Jar Jar.

And all this time I thought the green saber was inserted to complete the ever so festive green and red Christmas feel, incase the Dooku figure was a holiday gift.

Wonders never cease.

Clone Wars '03-'05 / Re: Army Builder

Any figure that would make sense to buy in multiples because they appeared that way on screen.

Stormtroopers, endor rebel troopers, rebel fleet troppers, biker scouts, royal guards, snowtroopers, battledroids, gungans...etc., etc.

Basically any type of figure that makes sense to display in multiples.

Ephant Mon is not an army builder  :D

For an example of what Star Wars collectors' interest in the hobby is like in non movie years, refer to 1995.   That was Star Wars madness.  And it still is.  At least, my interest is as high as it ever was.  Movie year or no movie year.  I still want to see all of the characters made that haven't been made yet from the original trilogy, and that's not even counting anything to do with the prequels.  My impression of Star Wars is that it has a superhuman fanbase.  Either these figures are selling out ultra fast these days, or the TRUs, WalMarts, KMarts, Targets, and KBs in my area just aren't getting any in.  I tend to think they just sell oul ultra quick.  What will happen after EIII?  Speaking for myself, my buying habits won't change a bit.

Yeah but with that helmet, rocket pack, and twin blasters you definitely qualify as "fashionably late."

And that's cool with me.
