Who's Preordering for late 2003/2004?
« on: October 28, 2003, 11:49 AM »
I was curious how many of you are preordering the figure waves for 2004 (or late 2003).  With the dismal retail year we had this past year, I found myself ordering quite a bit from Kebco, and have been able to fill in most of the remaining holes in my collection thanks to the kind people on these boards.  With some of the waves up for preorder on numerous sites (Hoth Wave, Tatooine wave, Ultra figures, etc.), I have been tempted to preorder these figures again, although I would much rather be able to find them at retail.  Its always nice when you find the figures on your own, and pay a little bit less.  But, at the same time, I really don't want to risk missing out on the great OT offerings for 2004.  I was just curious how many of you will start, or continue, to preorder...or if you are going to try your luck with the stores?

I am going to try the stores until after X-mas.  So far my area stores have not been getting individual Saga waves for my liking.  They seem to get in the wave with Chewy Mynock, Anakin Ceremony, Boba Fett but not anything else before or after.  They are fine with Clone Wars, Screen Scenes, Vehicles, and the like.

If it does not improve with the X-Mas buying season then that's I will start ordering in Jan/Feb.

I ordered 2 cases from EE..

http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HS84715B

And all of the Ultra stuff through the Jabba wave

Newforce hasn't updated stuff for a long time and I caught these right when they went up so hopefully I'll be getting them soon!

The only figure I am short on is Hoth Luke and I don't expect getting one to be too much of a problem

I have ordered all the new, cases from EE, i am a MOMC collector so i have to make sure my stuff is in C-10 collection so i hae no choice but to order from EE, if i get the figures in MOMC at a retail then i will simply just cancel the order.

Don't even have to pre-order.  I'm a member of kebco's "one of every figure" club and all single card, deluxe (ultra), vehicles and unleashed figs are added to my account without me doing anything.  Never had a problem so far and highly recommend it to anyone who's thinking of going exclusively to online shopping.

I've been pretty much using Kebco all the time lately, although I am not a member of the "one of every figure" club.  Can a person be a member of that club, but still pick and choose which figures you want to receive?  For example, if I would join, and I want to have everything starting at 2004 - Hoth Wave, but I don't care to have some of the CW figures (Durge w/speeder, etc.) or the 12" figures, can you take those out of your order?  If that makes any sense :).  Basically, can you order some figures, but not all of them?

Sure can.  Basically you join in catergories, ie, figures, unleashed, deluxe, vehicles, etc.  When you sign up, just pick the figs and items you want.  Anything you don't want, just leave the quantity "0".  For example, when I signed up, I had already ordered a case that had Aayla, Barris and bunch of other figures in it.  I just didn't add them to my order for kebco.  Once your initial order goes through, you don't have to worry about ordering again.  Its automatically done for you.

I'm a semi-completist so having one of every figure is not a problem for me.  If you, however, don't want one of every figure, then kebco might not be for you.  If you order just one of say an unleashed fig, ultra fig, vehicle or speederbike fig, then all of those types of items will be sent to you in the future.  I'm sure you can cancel certain items if you want to, but I've never actually had to do it, so I don't know how difficult it would be.  If you have any more questions, I'm sure Scott at kebco would be glad to answer them for you.

I'm sticking with hitting the stores.  Now that figures are finally showing up at Target, Walmart, TRU, & K-B, I'm hoping there won't be any problems next year either.

Is that the Old Ben 12" wave?

Methinks Newforce has fallen a touch out of favor.  I may be following Scott and Beth's lead to EE.  We shall see though.
