I'm just not believing this to be an accurate report. It looks cool, which makes it even less likely. But Hasbro making two stormtrooper figures for exclusives in not only the same year but at the same shows? Methinks not.

Should it be true, I need 4. And a background story to go with them.

I received confirmation that my Tauntaun statue has shipped! I am stoked- the photos I've seen look great. I'm not sure I want to make room for all of these things, but the Rancor looks great, and I'm hoping they do a wampa too. Gentle Giant has some damn fine sculptors in their midst.

I like both 400% Fetts, but I do prefer the more Jedi (more expensive) version. The blues they used and the unique weapon make for a little more striking piece. But they are both very cool, and if they are not side by side I don't think the differences are that big of a deal-

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Ordering TSC Cases?
« on: April 14, 2006, 09:16 PM »
It looks like consensus in this thread-  I'm new to Newforce, and I received one case of 6, and I'm not feeling like the rest are coming. I've ordered from EE in the past and always gotten the product, but I wanted to save a few bucks and try Newforce.  It's a drag to preorder and then your etailer gets short changed by the big H, so I will probably stick with EE from here on out. I only order a few cases a year, so it won't add up too much.

I already have my Endor and Tatooine waves ordered at EE. The earliest cases have the best ratios (generally 2 of each new figure, no repacks).

I think May is going to be Greatest Hits month, with refresh cases of coruscant shipping along side them. I don't think we'll see Tatooine before late May/Early June, but I could be wrong.

At the rate I am able to find things at retail stores lately, I'm GLAD they are an import only. It makes my life a lot easier knowing they will be on the boat, get in the plane, ride the truck to Jeff's house, and then I can get a fantastic PM telling me the good news. Not a single trip to the gas station.  ;D

And since they kept all of the chase figures consistent with the "A New Hope" theme, maybe the December series will be ESB- snowtroopers, glorious blocky snowtroopers...

Well, I am excited about the officer and Tarkin, but a Royal guard would have been light years ahead of a near look-alike rebel pilot. Dang, I was really looking forward to the frenzy of finding out the chases as people were ripping into their cases.
My bricky death star diorama will be getting loads of props in just a couple of months....

I ran into the Maul wave this last weekend as well. Other than that it is almost all Luke/speeder bike, Han/Luke hoth, and Chewbacca/clone on the pegs.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Chase/UGH figures: what's the big deal?
« on: April 10, 2006, 08:32 AM »
I gave up the complete carded collection beast a while ago, but I did put together a set of OTC because I liked the packaging and the scope of the line. I had considered doing the same with TSC, as it would now encompass the prequels as well, but....

I found an Obi Wan UGH the first week they started showing up. I felt pretty lucky, and upped my daily # of stores I stop at from 2-3 to 5-6. Weeks later I am frustrated, have 3 of the coruscant figures, burned about 30 gallons of gas, and still have my Obi Wan UGH.

So I started returning Carkoon and some of the geonosis and hoth figures. I will still end up with almost all of them loose, but the carded specimens can go back in the pool. In my case, UGH deterred me from collecting the complete line.

Toy Reviews / Re: New JD Review: General Veers
« on: April 7, 2006, 12:21 PM »
I agree with Jesse's review. While I do own a few of these for hanging around the troops in various settings, the lack of knee joints irks me. I love the AT-AT drivers knees. They are almost invisible and allow him to "sit." If they had made this mold with that type of knee, Veers (or any other imperial they base off of the mold) could sit at, oh, a table? Maybe a nice black table from the first death star?
We should be 20 years past these guys not being able to sit if you want them to. And some of the knees and elbows they do make look like bantha poo doo. We shouldn't have to see hinges and hardware.
The hat business, eh, I can live with it as is. I would rather have this than only have gotten one look or the other.

I know that UGH has made me weary of toy hunting. I was making a ridiculous number of trips and coming up empty everywhere I turned. I don't begrudge those who have found it, I am frustrated with Hasbro and the retailers for doing such a poor job of making these available. And now I sit on an outstanding order with an etailer and hope they get their full allotment that they pre-sold.

The lack of product and increased attention from "speculators" has soured me on what has otherwise been a well rounded line (excluding carkoon in my opinion). I am holding my obsessive hunting in check until the battle packs start arriving. I will try to get everything else in the mail. Hasbro + Brick and Mortar = B.S. for 2006. And you get to pay more for it all to boot.
