Interesting that the "with base" figures seem to have upgraded soft goods, premium detail, and die-cast accessories this time around... which is why they are $35.

Pretty cool! Although I couldn't help but notice how Hasbro avoided showing the front of the packaging like they did with Luke and Kylo Ren.
I'm also wondering if the new facial portrait technique that Hasbro showed at SDCC on Resistance Rey will be employed here. Because the face likeness is pretty remarkable.

Does anyone know if the figure itself is any different between the "With base" releases and the standard versions? Probably worth getting anyway for the improved accessories, but just curious.

If the new one is very similar but slightly better, I may bring back the basic version I already got and just get this new "with base" version.

Yes, they are different. The "with Crait base" figure has the fancier paint deco/aps and it has premium soft goods for the robe/wrap (and possibly skirt under them). Plus the die-cast accessories.
Better paint aps, more soft goods, and die cast accessories are the big difference on the Luke and Kylo "with base" sets too. Each seems to have a bonus accessory too that the single release doesn't (saber hilt for Rey, extra hand for Luke, Helmet for Kylo).

I should have been more specific in my question. Is the figure any different or is it just the soft goods and accessories? I did look at the pics and can't really distinguish the fancier paint apps. Guess I don't have an eye for that sort of thing. Moot point I suppose as I'm a sucker for any variation and the accessories alone are enough to warrant one of each.

I believe the figure is the same. The head sculpt looks the same to me.

I found 2 x of the Rey with Crait base sets at a local TRU today. I would have picked one up, but I couldn't figure out how to cancel that part of my multi-item order from TRU.com on my iPhone.

I ordered one of these for in-store pick up near me today, but the order was subsequently canceled. I guess the website and the actual store differ on whether they actually have this in stock. Disappointing.

Our local TRU finally stocked these on Saturday, so I was able to pick one up with nice paint apps. It's a cool set, looking forward to the other two now.

Not sure about in-store, but TRU.com has this on sale now for $27.99. I just ordered one so I can return the one I bought at full price.

Cracked mine open today. The figure and accessories are very, very good. The Crait base is really, really stupid.
Without spoiling the movie, they could have picked a more relevant base to the movie for Rey, or just skipped the base and charged less.
