Found these at Wal-Mart recently, and decided they'd make a nice story for someone looking for something cheap, fairly efficient and customizable right out of the box, and which had the potential for expanded customizability without a lot of effort (IE: A quick spraypaint job to make it more Star Warsy).

Clicky to go to the story!
I've bought a couple... I've already got some simple customizing ideas for this particular spice rack, but I was thinking you could customize each one to any specific environment with minimal effort... I have a pretty elaborate plan for one that I really hope to get done, but I'm not quite sure how I'm going to go about it just yet. :)

Great post, I am going to look for these today...thanks!

Thanks McMetal.
I got one and thought maybe it'd be a good idea to share with the world what I'd found... Almost nabbed a few more tonight but didn't feel like waiting in line. I do have some cool plans for thme though but probably should focus on finishing the shelves first. ::) Sucks having your priorities out of whack.

I think ole JediMAC first tipped me off to these babies over at GH...they work real swell and glad to see they are still around

I actually saw some of these today at Target. I was tempted to revisit the idea. I had tried them out a few years ago, but I wasn't too happy with them at the time. Anyhow, I need to get my collection room shelving in order before I do something like this.

These are THAT old Scott? I'd never seen them before in the kitchen area of WM and I really watch for this crap when I'm out. I'd only seen the ones at Lowes or the Kitchen store in the mall and they were both grossly overpriced and not collapsable.
No clue they were that retro though.
Another J-MAC exclusive!

I looked for these at two Wal-Marts over the weekend and couldn't find them anywhere. They should be in the Home section with dishes and such, right? :P
-
Yeah, like where they have the wire racks for drying dishes and stuff, is where they are at any WM around me. If you see those, that's where they should be I'd guess.

I hit a third WM today and still can't seem to find these. I am looking in and around all the dish drying racks and silverware trays, but I don't see anything like this. Walmart is not my friend today.

Try Target. I found them in the kitchen accessory area, near some stuff like dish drainers.

Thanks - I will look for them. How much were they at Target?

Not certain, but I definitely saw them there. And they were right on a main aisle in the store where I saw them.

I picked up 3 tonight at WM... Wanna get moving on them while I'mt hinking of it.
There was also a great 2-level swingin' suzy (lazy susan) I picked up for $6 as a paint tray for my customizing desk... paint's often difficult to rack up in a convenient way and I'm gonna test this out to see if it's good for me or if I'll take it back.
