Title: Loch Ness, Do you believe?
Post by: Darth_Deastron on July 21, 2006, 04:05 AM
Ok, this may actually sound kinda rediculous, but does anyone believe that the Loch Ness monster exists?  I believe that it's just a bunch of propaganda, and idiots who see optical illusions.  If something like this does exist, I think it's probably something other than a Pleaseeasaur (the 'water dinosaur' that people claim it is)

Thoughts?

I think the chances are slim.

You just never know, stranger things thought to be long dead have been found allthough I kind of Pleaseeasaur theory, I have a feeling that it might be something not classified yet  there allways finding new cretures in the deep sea and Loch Ness is a very unuseual body of water. So I'm open to the idea that there is something unknown liveing there.

This one's definitely fake... notice how the water isn't affected where it breaks the surface like it is in your second picture.

You mean like in the picture of the otter?

Well no, that's probably a real picture of an otter.

I use to believe in Nessie but when thosw two guys in their late 90's said their picture of the famous monster was just hoax from the 30's my belief ended.

I do believe in North America's Loch Ness monster of "Champ".

There's this site out there that debunks EVERY picture and story ever taken of "Nessie" except for a handful that they deem "questionable".

When I was a kid, I loved the idea that there was a still a dinosaur of some kind swimming around in there.  The fact that we have subs and sonar and that there aren't enough fish in that lake to sustain something of that size have jaded me as I got older.

Then again, we JUST NOW discovered giant squid in the last two years.

As for Champ, Tahoe Tessie and all the other lake monsters...yeah...I think it's pretty silly.

I saw this documentary and it convinced me that Loch Ness is real.

I have a first hand experience with Nessie, but you guys would just laugh at me.

Fake . . . just like bigfoot.  No bones, no fecal material, nothing to show that the Nellie is real. Too much evident points to it being fake and that most of the pictures are fake.

On the Giant Squid, scientists have known that Giant Squid have been around for while (remains in Sperm Whales stomachs) but it has only been documented in the last several years.

Really? I thought Nelly was real. But Nessie, on the other hand, isn't real. ;)

Loch Ness Monster theorey of the week, Anguilla Eel.

It really is the most likley of the theoreys. I'm a big paleontology buff, and even I can't believe it's a plesiosaur in that Loch, or some other ancient and beleived extinct animal.

I am a firm believer that there are creatures from before the KT boundry still existing today. Just because we've not seen them does not mean they aren't there.

You can go poking around through his fecal matter if you want to.

I believe.

LOL, Nelly does exist...unfortunately...

I think Champ would be alot more likely than Nessie.  Champlain is a ton bigger than Loch Ness, and these "Lake Monsters" were just created as a result of people seeing optical illusions and trying to find an explanation for them IMO.  But, if you ask me, the possibility of there being a "Monster" in the ocean is alot bigger.  The ocean is miles and miles deep, and we've barely even seen it.  I think all of humanity has only seen 10% of the ocean, and there are enough fish in the ocean to support any kind of "Monster", hell we have a huge ass blue whale living there, if that can be supported, any thing can be.

A Giant squid isn't very surprising.  And I doubt we'll find anything that's cracken sized, so I'm ok...

My bad  :-[

http://cryptozoology.com, it's a site about the study of hidden animals (loch ness monster, sasquatch, ect.)

It's kinda funny to read their "Sightings"
