My 7 yr old son has been admiring my custom figures recently and he said, "Dad I want to make a star wars figure" so I agreed and let him run wild with a couple of clones that he had an some Michael's paints.
I offer up two of the most colorful clones imaginable. He had a lot of fun but I can't afford to let him customize too much. He wanted to a whole of army of these guys.
Anyway, enjoy the fruits of a seven year old as the first time he puts paint to plastic.

HECK YES those rock.
At first I thought they were just randomly painted clone but it looks like your son actually came up with a design that he followed on both clones.
1 probem is I dont think they'd last very long in the field. :P

Little does your kid know that these exact Clones are going to be $19 SWS.com exclusives...
JK, these actually look pretty neat. If he's only 7 right now, imagine what he'll come up with by age 17! And like Smartypants said these are basicley walking targets for Droidekas...

Heh Heh... good seeing a little one getting into this. Very cool Brent and he did a good job.
:P

Don't give them any ideas.
It is always cool to see the little ones getting in on customizing. While I was working at the FFURG booth at C3 some of the coolest moments were seeing the little kids who wanted to make their own colorfull stormtroopers, and other customs. :)
-
You think that's expensive. I see those going for $80 on ebay everyday.
Actually, those are way better and more creative than 95% of the clones I've seen on RS. I love the choice of colors and how the same colors are used on the belts and the pink on the sholders looks great with the yellow. I showed my son (6 years old) these and he wants to paint up a stormtrooper tonight. Two very cool clones Brent. Your son has a real eye for color.

Heh heh awesome! :)
Looks like the clones had a friendly game of paintball!
They look awesome though, real neat design art on clone armor...on a clone soldier!
-
Hehe, you guys are crazy, those aren't random, they are the designated distractions for their clone unit.
Clone Commander: We are totally outnumber by the droid army
Clone Grunt: No problem, sir, I have an idea. Bring up the DD's.
Its times like these that I want a kid, lol, plus the wife says I need someone to play with.

They look so cuite ;D. My little girl love to play star wars with me until she discovered boys. Now I only get to play star wars video games with her from time to time. They grow up so fast :'(. Enjoy it while it lasts ;D.

Great topic Brent. This is a stromtrooper my six year old did.

It seems this stormtrooper was standing guard out side an Imperial explosives facility that fronted as a paint factory. The rebels knowing that explosives were being created there, blew up the paint factory and this stormtrooper was caught in the explosion.

Phruby,
Thanks for sharing. Looks like we've got ourselves a pair of customizers, huh. Its all I could do to keep my son away from the R2 units today. "Step away from the droids"

It was a good learning experience for him. He learned about mixing colors and how you get orange from red and yellow. Thanks for the idea. It was nice to do a little art project with him. He though your son's was really cool.

HECK YES those rock!
They are better than yours. ;D

ouch >:( :-[ that wasn't nice at all you could have at least put JK at the end >:(
-
Pretty neat stormie!
I think with all the little children making customs that might as well be the next monthly challenge :P .
Let the game of paintball begin! ;D

AHH the imagination of kids you've got to love it you really do, for a 7yr old thats good and I bet his proud as punch.
my 18mth old girl sits on my lap and I give her an old figure to paint and she spends hours doing it I love it but the wife can't stand it and I don't know why hehehe.

Kids love to paint and its great daddy bonding time with the little ones. Ron you need to post some of your girl's creations.

This is an excellent thread! Brent and Paul, it looks like your young 'uns are well on their way to illustrious customizing careers. Love love love the colors.
(And Paul, I love your "backstory" for your son's trooper, too -- did you come up with that, or did he?)
Folks with kids, do show us your young 'uns' work! Let's keep a cool thread alive!
(Ah, YET another reason to bite the bullet and start committing genetic fusion... :) )

Haha, that's great! I like that Yoda's got a smile on his face -- it takes my mind off the sad Yoda in Episode III.
