I came across a very interesting bit of text that MIGHT be a possible foreshadowing to another change in the upcoming ROTJ DVD?  Scroll down/read 2nd to last line carefully.
As some of you may know there was some speculation/pic a few weeks ago at aicn.com of EP.III Anakin being inserted into the "Jedi Spirit" scene at the end of ROTJ.  You can check out that thread here.  I know I am probably reading too much into it,but it still makes me wonder if they got something else in store.  From the many reports I've read Lucas seems to be tweaking the OT DVD's quite a bit,it wouldn't surprise me.

Could it be Yoda,Obi-Wan,and now Anakin will do that cool disappearing act?.  Any thoughts?  Or I'm I just spending too much time at the Force.net? :P

Conventions / Re: 2004 San Diego Comic Con
« on: June 5, 2004, 06:14 AM »
Tickets are now on sale for the Official Star Wars Fan Club Breakfast.  Anyone planning on going?   From SWS.com:

Admission to the event includes breakfast at the classy Marriott Hotel & Marina, one of Hasbro's exclusive silver-painted sandtrooper action figures, a goody bag of treasures from the Lucasfilm Licensing archives, plus the chance to chat with Steve Sansweet, head of Fan Relations at Lucasfilm, and others. A few lucky fans will be drawn to receive exceptional prizes, too!

The silver-painted sandtrooper action figure will make its debut at Comic-Con International. The Official Fan Club breakfast is the one place you'll be able to get your hands on this figure that week without standing in line.

The Fan Club Breakfast is produced by the Official Star Wars Fan Club and is the first of a series of events planned for this summer. Seats are very limited, and expected to sell out quickly.

Admission is $57.32* per person while seats are available. Cost of the breakfast does not include admission to San Diego Comic-Con, which takes place in the convention center next door to the Marriott.

Breakfast registration is limited to members of the Official Star Wars Fan Club, but each member may also purchase one ticket for one guest. This guest is not required to be a member, but must be accompanied by the member at the breakfast.

Orders are limited to two tickets per person, while supplies last. Orders for more than two tickets, or orders made by non-Fan Club members, will be cancelled and the service fee plus a $20.00 cancellation fee will be charged.

This is a "Will Call" event. To be admitted to the Fan Club Breakfast July 24 you must bring your confirmation number and a photo ID to the event. Your confirmation number will be emailed to you once you place your order. Shortly after, you will receive an email with details of the event.

Admission to the Star Wars Fan Club Breakfast is non-refundable. The Official Star Wars Fan Club will not issue a refund for an admission after it has been purchased, and we will not issue a refund for a lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed ticket.

*All prices of taxable items include California sales tax reimbursement computed to the nearest mill.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Burger King Glasses Figures!!!!!!
« on: May 26, 2004, 04:11 AM »
I still have Old Ben,and Mauly gathering nice coats of dust in my area stores.  One place is so bad they are stacked high enough to block the bottom row of figs on the pegs!  :o  ::)

I place my bet on AFA giving it a 50 overall.  I personally would give it a 60+.  I don't have any experience with professional graders, just assuming they will be pretty thorough.

Hey everyone. I just thought I would mention that it would be awesome if when you decide to purchase something online and it happens to be from a site that is a JediDefender sponsor, if you would click on a banner that we have on JD that links to the site, it would be great. The URL's are unique and track that you came and purchased something from them through us. Doing so will allow us to continue paying for our servers and software that we provide for members of the site. Thanks a million.

Cool,I did not know this.  I will definately make sure to go through JD/EE to place my future orders. :)

I'm a very happy camper with EntertainmentEarth.com.  My first Pre-order was for the Endor Wave, and it went off without a hitch.  I received my case the same week I saw the remnants of it at retail.  They are also pretty close to me so I get my shipments fairly quick even with USPS Super Saver option.  The only thing that sucks is I have to pay CA Sales Tax,but oh well.  Hopefully,I can say the same when I recieve my OTC/OTC Vintage cases.

Feedback / Re: JediMAC's feedback
« on: May 22, 2004, 03:52 AM »
So since I finally left some feedback for OCB, I suppose I need to do the same for his fellow butt-buddy JediMAC:

Although we completed our "deal" months ago, the overwhelming warmth and joy of it's afterbirth remains.

The packaging (and all that emcompasses) of Matt's shipment is (and I mean this in all sincerity) was equal to (if it didn't eclipse outright) other packages that I've gotten over the years--from online businesses.  Very impressed.

What's more--in our deal, he was sending me like fifty bucks worth of junk--and MAC Daddy had enough faith and trust in me (and I'm a contemptible bastard)--that he actually sent first--which even I wasn't totally comfortable with.  And we'd never worked together before at all.

Needless to say, this guy rules.

Plus, he was a very gentle lover.

Thanks, Daddy MAC!

:o Who knew Matt had such a sensitive side for his fellow traders. :P  Anyways,I just have a big thumbs up for Matt on hooking me up with some Great silver figs!  Superb packing, got them in one business day,and was gracious enough to ship out before I sent payment.   Other than the Sandtrooper I'm all caught up thanks to Matt.  This buds for you! :)

The Original Trilogy / Re: Anakin in ROTJ now Hayden???
« on: May 19, 2004, 05:16 PM »
I for one don't mind the changes that have been reported,if they are true.   I can totally understand and it makes perfect sense why "young" Anakin would be seen in "Jedi Spirits"  scene at the end of ROTJ.   A Jedi would pass onto as a "Spirit" in his last form in the Light Side of the Force, thus Anakin in EP.III before he turns to the Dark Side.  One thing is for sure, there will be ALOT of people crying Bloody Murder for that change.

In the end, like stated above this is George Lucas's vision, and he will cut/add/destroy in some people eye's as he sees fit.   Whatever that vision is I will still love all 6 films, even if there are some very small things that irk me.

Dave is simply the Greatest!!  He hooked me up sick with a beautiful mini-bust to add to my small collection.  It is always a pleasure to trade with a Class Act like Dave.  Thanks a Million!! :D

  • I'm an obsessive compulsive carded completist, so I'll be buying every last one of 'em!
If it wasn't for the Beautiful Vintage style cardbacks with figure specific backgound,I would only buy the new figs and some of the rehashes that I missed out on.(Clean Biker Scout,IG-88,Jawa's)  I am VERY dissappointed though that Hasbro decided to re-release the POTF2 Bib,Gamorrean Guard,Imperial Scanning Tech without a more modern resculpt/articulation. >:(  I guess if they release Veers as some reports say,it WILL be the horrible exclusive AT-AT pack in,Ack! So much for removeable Helmet, and snap on armor. :'(

The Original Trilogy / Re: Ian McDiarmid now in ESB
« on: May 6, 2004, 02:38 AM »
I don't know about that top pic. ???  To me it doesn't look like Ian McDiarmid,he seems to have somewhat of a resemblence(nose) but that's about it.  The person's face in that pic seems thinner and longer than Ian's.  Either it's some sort of Fan pic/work or it's a HORRIBLE job at recreating the Emperor's look from ROTJ.  Looks nothing like the creeping looking Emperor we all know and love. :-* :P
