Does someone have a total on the number of unique (non-repacks) Star Wars figures made since 1977?

Watto's Junk Yard / Toy shopping in your dreams?
« on: September 4, 2011, 10:44 PM »
Have you gone toy shopping in your dreams? I've had ones where I would find the weirdest figures carded. Things like the Tonnika sisters or some mini diacast ship. Sometimes I would find custom made figures that someone in the store was trying to sell. Recently I found a battlepack that included two AT-STs, a big AT-AT, three turrets, a imperial bunker base and dozen snowtroopers.  It was a big box. They also had the rebel version but I don't remember what was in that.

Do you have these toy shopping dreams?

Collections / Master Phruby's Star Wars Office
« on: August 6, 2011, 11:58 AM »
If you may not know, we have been remodeling our house this summer. You can see the thread here: http://www.jedidefender.com/yabbse/index.php?topic=21581.0

As part of the remodel, there will be a new larger office dedicated to my collection. My Star Wars collection use to reside in this room until about 2006 when it was converted into my daughter's room. All the stuff was packed up and put in the garage. It was a very sad day but it made my daughter Rose very happy. It made it hard to know what I had and it took alot of the fun of collecting out it. When you can't display this stuff, there seems to be no point of collecting it.

Now after five years it.... RETURNS!

This thread will show pictures of decorating the room, picking out new cabinets, painting and then finally reassembling the office. The plans are to combine the collection with my other favorite thing: classic video gameing. What I have in mind is to display mostly figures and maybe some ships if space permits. I will also integrate my collection of video game cartridges and classic systems such as Atari, Colecovision, Nintendo and Sega. The computer and my collection of classic systems will be attached to our old 42" TV so I can run any video game ever created. New cabinets will go around and on each side of the TV. There is a great black and white couch that will go in the center of the room with a coffee table. The computer will be in the back part of the room pretty much were it is shown in the pictures below. The computer and TV will have access to my media server and netflix so we can stream any movie. More details are coming.

Feel free to comment and offer suggestions as we pick out everything for the room. We are going for a kind of cantina lounge feel. We are setting on a brownish dark sand or brownish green color for the room with lighter color cabinets with glass doors to go with the cabinet and desk we have.

Anyway, lets recap what the office looked like BEFORE it was converted into my daughter's room.

This shelving unit will return for the computer.

This case will return full of vintage figures only.

Vintage Kenner / Cataloging you collection?
« on: July 26, 2011, 11:52 PM »
Since my remodel is nearing completion it is getting to the time bring all my toys out from storage. I want to catalog all of my Star Wars figures and toys since I have no clue what I have anymore. Does anyone have a piece of software to do that? I was thinking of creating a spreadsheet or even designing an Microsoft Access database for it.

What do you do to catalog your collection?

Watto's Junk Yard / Extreme Makeover - MY home edition!!
« on: April 25, 2011, 10:29 PM »
Well, we've been talking about thing for the last ten years and this week we finally pulled the trigger and construction started. We are adding over 800 square feet to our home. There will be a huge new master bedroom/bath in the backyard. The living room and family rooms are doubling in size. Best of all the STAR WARS OFFICE WILL RETURN! ETA for this project is September.

This thread I will update weekly with the progress. Once the Star Wars office is built, I'll update my collection thread with the decorating and setting back up of my collection.

This first sets of pictures are about four days worth of work stripping the stuco off the house, removing trees and jack hammering the side walks and side patio. There will be a new retaining wall built about six feet into the hill side.  The new house will actually go all the way to the current hillside.

Conventions / San Diego Comic-con 2012
« on: November 1, 2010, 01:48 PM »
Tickets where suppost to go on sale today. I've been trying for the last two hours but their server is crapping out as usual. Now they have a new message saying to check back November 8th for information on the new registration date. Currently the 4day memberships with preview night are sold out due to the onsite sales at comic con in July. 4day memberships without previous night are still available.

Comic-con 2011 will be July 21-24 at the SD convention center. I'd wish they just move it to somewhere bigger like L.A. or Anaheim or Vegas.

Watto's Junk Yard / Where to spend the Zombie Apocalypse?
« on: August 11, 2010, 04:17 PM »
I found this at another web site and I thought it might be fun to talk about here too.

At Target today, we came upon a strange sight. A woman was standing in the parking lot for a good 10 minutes slouched over with her head to one side. She was staring into space the entire time until she turned around and limped back into the store.

This got me to thinking about where exactly I would try to go when WW-Z occurs. I'm thinking a Wal-Mart or if I could get to a Bass Pro Shop. Wal-Mart would give a strong supply source for pretty much everything I would need to survive including guns and ammo. A friend suggested a Costco. This would have great roll down doors to make barricading easy but no weapons readily available.

So the question is, where are you going to spend the zombie apocalypse when it arrives? What do you guys do in Pittsburg when this happens?

Watto's Junk Yard / The Death of PC Gaming
« on: December 28, 2009, 12:07 PM »
Here is an interesting discussion. With the creation of the ps3, xbox360, iphone and DS, do you think PC gaming is on its way out? When was the last time you bought and or played a PC game?

Personally, I havn't bought a pc game in years. I play my DS alot more than anything I have installed on my PC except for MAME. It's just a lot more convinent and conforable to play on the couch then being stuck infront of my PC's monitor. It's also great to play games on the big flat screen wirelessly than on a computer monitor with cables. Do you guys keep state of the art gaming PCs?
