What's set to be released in July? Perhaps we can put together a checklist. But before we do, what are the ground rules? Legacy only? Legacy and Clone Wars? Legacy with CW vehicles (since the vehicles can be used with both?) Thoughts?

I'd say make the FULL list of everything coming out. Then each person can decide what they will pick up from there. No reason to exclude any product. I myself won't be buying the animated stuff, but others will.
So the list should have figures for both lines, vehicles, exclusives, etc. Everything.

Where has it been confirmed that the second wave of Legacy(Clone Wars wave) will be out July 26th? According to Toy Fair they weren't supposed to ship until August. Just wondering and thanks.

As far as I know, I thought the second wave of Legacy wasn't coming until later (August) either. To be honest, I kind of hope that is still the case. There's going to be more than enough for me to burn money on that day (with the Falcon and AT-TE alone) the way it is. I'm hoping the "launch" doesn't get much bigger than it already is.

There's also a Titanium wave with big fat white CW stickers on them which includes the Sandspeeder, Cloud Car, and I forgot what else is in the wave.

As already pointed out by Anton, the TRU exclusive STAP and Hoth BPs are in the 30AC packaging and should be out in May, not July...
And, there may be a bunch of other CW items out that day - possibly Wave 2 (which we still don't have confirmed) as well as Battle Packs, like the Speeder Biker Recon set that was mocked-up at Toy Fair (http://www.jedidefender.com/gallery/imageFolio.cgi?action=view&link=Conventions/Toy_Fair_2008/Hasbro_Star_Wars&image=DSCF7909.JPG&img=48&tt=).
Plus, there will be a bunch of new Mini-Unleashed 4-packs (repacks and new) as well as new packaing Titaniums as Mike mentioned.

I think there's going to be 2 waves of Basic CW stuff, there's no way that Ashoka (or whatever) will not be there at launch.

so far i have about $250 saved up with another $100 i got back from tax returns. the only thing that sucks is that i wont be able to use any money from my job due to university coming close. I'm just hoping my parents will help me out this one last time loll. and if worst comes to worst i will only buy one each of the clone and battle droid, skip the A-wing (considering i only want the pilot) and that would lower it to around $475. and if i am Still strapped on cash...ill head down to the states to pick up what i need lol. i got it all planned out. 8)

Figuring conservative and getting the minimums of wants at the minimum prices, that’s $898 before tax. $960 after tax.
For just what I plan on buying that specific day the total is $528 and after tax is $565. Thankfully, I already have that covered with my tax refund and rebate monies. I may swing for some of the other $400 in stuff, just depends.
This total doesn't come close to what I spent for each of the prequel toy release dates, but is a large enough total on it's own merit.

So, with the big Indy release kind of slowing down now (the toys) - and the Star Wars lull pretty much in effect aside from a few Legends, the Rancor, and the Mygeeto BP - is anyone starting to formulate what they're going to pick up on the big 7/26 day? I really hope we'll get a clearer idea of what exactly will be out that day as we get closer - and, with the big vehicles and exclusives - I kind of hope that we don't see multiple waves of figures right away. I originally planned/hoped on picking up both the Falcon and AT-TE, but I don't know if I can afford that or not. I'm starting to "prioritize" a list for that day, and see what I'm able to afford. I hope to at least get the Falcon, then probably try to grab the TRU Exclusive GH Rancor set (because those always seem tougher to get), and then the TLC figures. It would be nice to get an AT-TE as well, but I might have to wait and hope that it will be available later. It depends on what I can get saved up (or get in gift cards for my b-day). Is anyone else having to space it out a bit more? Its similar to the ROTS release for me, but this time the two vehicles alone can almost add up to what I spent on the ROTS release day.

I'm planning on this being my last big hoorah for Star Wars... my interest in the line has decreased severely, and I'm much happier collecting Indiana Jones figures now. I'm planning on getting Legacy waves 1 and 2, Padme Evolutions, and the BMF, and other than a few select figures (mainly ICMG, SA Jar Jar, and SA Jake Lloyd) I'm pretty much done with Star Wars.
Until we get a final list of what will be out on 7/26 (which I'm sure we will around June/early July) here's what my list looks like for now...

It seems that, at least how I understood some of the Q and A answers this week, that a number of things might not be quite "ready" for the 7/26 date. From what I read, it sounded as if both the Comic Packs and Galactic Heroes (Cinema Scenes) - at least the new ones - would be out about a month later. Maybe I was misunderstanding their answers though. As much as I'm looking forward to some of that, I'm kind of glad at this point for any breaks we might have. The vehicles alone are pricey enough for one day's spending. I do wish we'd get some sort of "official" list of items for release on the big day.

I saw in the Q and A this week at JediNews.uk (http://www.jedinews.co.uk/news/news.aspx?newsID=1305) that Hasbro confirms that there will be just the 8 (Animated) Clone Wars figures out on the release day (in addition to a couple of exclusives - like the Holo Grievous I'm guessing). The next wave(s) won't be out until a couple of months later.

If you hold back on one of the AT-TEs and one of the V-19s, you're practically there.
I think the AT-TEs will sit longer than the Falcon. But not by much. But at least this way, you've got al of them and can go back for seconds another time.

^ That's a good question... what will sell faster? The AT-TE or the Falcon?
I'd go with the AT-TE - it's $50 cheaper, is the first time it's been offered, and it's clone related... but I guess time will tell.

The only reason I'm undecided on the BMF is because my focus on colleticg is Clone Wars and EU. As sweet as teh BMF is, it really doesn't fit in my collection. Besides the AT-TE is something I've been wanting for 6 years....

With some of Hasbro's comments about some items being repackaged to kick things off (Galactic Heroes Cinema Scenes, Comic Packs?) with newer items coming later, I wonder if other lines will be going the same route. I noticed (I think it was on GH's forums) that the WM exclusive A-Wing might be pushed back to November now as well. Has Hasbro ever commented if the new Evolution packs will be available on 7/26, or if we'll see the repackaged ones first? In a way, as much as I'm looking forward to some of these things - I almost hope that some things are pushed back a bit, because it could make for an expensive day otherwise (or passing on things), even moreso than ROTS, surprisingly. Anyways, I hope Hasbro will give us a more concrete checklist of what will be available on the big day, so we can plan accordingly. I'm already "prioritizing" my list of wants, because I know I can't afford to get it all that day.

Really though, were it not for the AT-TE and the Falcon, most of us would be spending hundreds less.
My worry is that stores won't be prepared with those two items. Crazy as it sounds, I think those are going to fly off the shelf first.
I'm planning on a midnight madness at one of my local stores. Even then I may not be guaranteed all the stuff I want. I may need to hit a few stores first thing in the morning to get the rest I want.

We're coming up on about two weeks out from the big release day, and I'm wondering if Hasbro is going to put out a checklist for the 26th. I know they have had them in the past (ROTS and Spidey 3 I remember in particular), and I'd like to see something just to know what to look for that day (even without exclusives if necessary). I guess we have a pretty decent idea of most of the lines, but I'm still wondering if we'll see new (not repackaged) comic packs, evolutions, Galactic Heroes, etc.
EDIT: RS (http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/New_Evolutions_Found_115907.asp) has a report of someone finding the Padme, Rebels I and II, Imperials, and repacked Fetts at retail.
I think from some indications/early finds, it sounds like the Padme/Rebel Pilots Evolution packs have been found somewhere - so I'm guessing those will be out. Also, I think Hasbro mentioned in one of the Q and A's here that the Galactic Heroes Vader/Dewback/Obi-Wan fighter/TRU Rancor/AT-RT sets were going to be pushed back a little bit (or maybe I'm remembering incorrectly).
Anyways, how many of you are planning on picking up everything you want (that is out) that day - or are you spacing it out a bit with all the releases at once? I think this has the potential to be more expensive (at least to me) than the ROTS release day, so I think I'm going to have to pick and choose - and prioritize my purchases.

If buying the animated figures/BP'S, yes this has the potential to surpass the ROTS opening night. (The Falcon & AT-TE put this over the top) I do not see this TRU Midnight Madness event as being as crowded as ROTS. This is truly for the die hard of die hards.
I plan on trying to tackle all of my wants on Saturday Midnight/morning. (Glad I am passing on the animated stuff) I am sure I will have to go to WM and Target Saturday morning to get their respective exclusives (Gunship/a-Wing). My current mentality for collecting is buy it when I see it, no spacing out. Even if I am unsure about the purchase I will buy it. Those "unsure" items are the only ones I wait to open, I can always return it if I change my mind. Too many times in the past I waited only to not find it without a major effort. With gas prices and a baby coming I have no desire or time to go on major hunts. I rather pay a few extra bucks for the convenience and guarantee of getting the stuff I want. (I have no regrets paying 12 more for the WM build-a-droid wave. I have yet to see any in the wild.)
If it was not for the street date I would have had all of this crap delivered to my door like I have been doing for the past 2 years. It does not pay to pre-order on 7/26 when I can go to the store and get it. Ordering figures by the case has been the best decision of my collecting. The gas wasted outweighs the repeated hunts in my opinion.

I already own the Falcon so that will no longer be a burden on my wallet. Most of the figures I hope to get on day 1 are those that will probably be hardest to find to so this should be fun. I was planning on getting the AT-TE but with these new evolution packs expected to come out not to mention the comic packs that should also hit stores I will not be able to afford it. And then there is also Fan Expo in August that I am going to and I need money for that as well. With the two clone wars BP I should be able to complete the clone wars wave within the week as my mother said she would stop by WM after work on her way home on the 26th to look for some of the new stuff for me. For the evolution sets I am going to buy them but wait on opening them to see if I can find them at Zellers. I have a 15% off card for Zellers and if I can find the packs there I can save $5 off of each of them and simply return the other ones I have back to TRU to buy someother SW goodies. Either way I am really pumped for this release. I have already placed a lot of my Marvel stuff into storage so that I have more space to display my Star Wars collection. And to think I started saving up for all of this stuff in Feb, didnt think the time would go by this quickly :)

Well, if I've learned anything from collecting since 1978 it's that single carded figures should always be bought first. You never know what odd figure will become hard to find.
Ships will sit on shelves for a while, and so will evolution sets. Big stuff, like the At-Te and the Falcon will be everywhere throughout x-mas
so all I'm saying is this...slow down!
Enjoy. Buy the Falcon this month, and the At-Te next month. Give yourself something to look forward to.
I'm buying all single carded figures because that's what I love most. And I'll get the Falcon because it's effin sweet. I'll pick up the rest of the stuff in bits and peices over the next few months.

Can't say I agree here... I hardly saw any of the 2008 Evolutions sets. They flew off shelves, especially the FU, the Sith, and the Fett set. The Jedi one... Saw it a couple times, but the rest I saw twice and bought what I saw both times. Glad I did because I never once saw them again.
Evolutions has proven to be anything but a shelfwarmer in my experience... Even the repacked sets sold eventually and without a sale. That's good sales rates to me.

Yeah, wave 2 could be a killer... The AT-TE I've got pretty well paid for. It's a 2nd one that I'm mulling over that's gonna cost me, and I'll likely put that off a month. Wish I'd get one for a gift, but I think that's substantially beyond the budgets for me any given year. ;)
I'm honestly thinking I'm passing completely on the Falcon... I feel like I'm missing out by doing this, but I gotta stick to my "If it ain't scale, it ain't worth it" rule I think. :( I love it though, it's an awesome toy, but like the Gunship it's something I can't justify... Cool toy but too much money and space.
I love the Evolutions sets too. Wasn't sure those were going to be around but now it seems they are... That too is a surprise expense adding to it this month because I know I want 2 of each set besides Padme. Wish I'd just pre-ordered these and Wave 2 I think. :(

Jesse, just yesterday I saw a huge pile of evolutions (Fetts, Jedi, and Sith) sitting in a TRU)-Just goes to show how different everyone's area are. And, in the Legacy Evolutions, there's no single "must have" set like the Fetts.

Can't say I agree here... I hardly saw any of the 2008 Evolutions sets. They flew off shelves, especially the FU, the Sith, and the Fett set. The Jedi one... Saw it a couple times, but the rest I saw twice and bought what I saw both times. Glad I did because I never once saw them again.
Evolutions has proven to be anything but a shelfwarmer in my experience... Even the repacked sets sold eventually and without a sale. That's good sales rates to me.
It was the same here (as Jesse's area). The Evolution sets were very hit and miss this year. I think I did end up seeing each of them at retail at least once, but aside from the Jedi set, I don't think I saw any of the new sets more than that. There were some Anakin sets sitting at Target and TRU for a bit, but they ended up selling through as well. Since it looks like these new sets will be out on 7/26 as well, I think they move up fairly high on the priority list for me as well - you just never know when you might see them again.

So budget accordingly for that dollar amount (plus tax). Otherwise you might find yourself short and that would suck on that day.
I don't think it's "insane" to be getting a lot of stuff all on that one day.
I'm trying to cut down on toy runs due to gas expenditure. So getting as much as I can from my list on the first day will save toy runs in the future. If I only need a couple of items after that I'll look to deal on the forums if I don't find them in stores eventually.
As far as holding off on stuff, I've been holding off for several months due to Hasbro's delay. I want this stuff, especially the AT-TE and Falcon. I'm not waiting on those two big items. I still have this nagging feeling like they are NOT going to be easy to find-even at their prices. I just can't see stores stocking a lot of these. I'm NOT taking the chance that I can't find them later and would have to resort to eBay. If I'm proven wrong so be it, I'm not concerned about eating crow so to speak, because by that point, I'll have both ships.

I saw the newer sets a couple of times save for Fett in which I have only ever seen 3 sets. The repack wave was tough to find. I saw 2 of the trooper set, 1 Sith and have never seen the Ani set. So I highly doubt the evolution sets will sit in my area thats for sure. Figures shouldnt be too much of a problem though since there are not any army builders in wave 1 Legacy.

I decided against buying the cut scene Han, Luke, and Chewbacca, as well as the Vader, because they're all just too similar to figures I already have (and in some cases not as good). I wouldn't have displayed them as cut scene characters anyway. So looks like I'm in for 2 Yarnas, 2 ewoks, and 1 Bane Malar as far as the legacy collection is concerned.

Just trying to be helpful. I know I wouldn't like being surprised at a price hike. Especially if I hadn't budgeted for it then would either have to scramble for the cash or have to put something back.

Someone over at Sandtroopers claims they saw a box of Legacy wave 2 and was told they could not buy the figures. If this is true this means wave 2 will probably also be on sale. With the new evo sets coming out and this wave I know for sure that the TE is out of my grasp and I might have to drop some other things from my want list to make room now :-\

Well, now that we've gotten an "official" list of what should be hitting next weekend - what does your list look like now? Has anything changed? Mine all depends on what I find, and how high the bill starts to get. I'm trying to just list everything by priority, and if I get just the first couple, I'll pick up the rest of the stuff later. For me, its looking like this:
TLC Millennium Falcon (if nothing else, I'd like to grab this)
TLC Evolutions Sets - All Four (I don't know about others, but Evolutions has been really hit and miss around here)
TLC Wave 1 (and 2?) - (Part of me almost hoped Wave 2 would be delayed, as cool as it is, just to spread things out. These will be the first figures I grab though)
Galactic Heroes New Wave (Four Sets)
After that, its up in the air. I'd like to get some of the Clone Wars vehicles (AT-TE, V-19, etc.), but will probably have to wait and hope I can get them later on. If budget allows, I'll likely pick up at least a couple of the animated figures, although I think I'm in the minority there. Of course, I'd like to grab everything that day/weekend, but I think ultimately I can only go with one of the "big ships" for now - and after that its all about the realistic styled figures for the time being.

I was just listening to this week's ForceCast podcast, and they have an interview with Derryl DePriest of Hasbro discussing the big release next week and all of that. They mention in the discussion that the "midnight madness" is exclusive to TRU. I wonder if that means that, for example, Wal-Marts can't put their stuff out until later? I know it will likely make no difference since I'm sure they won't be "policing" the putting out of products anymore once it is officially 7/26, but I just thought that was interesting. I'm still debating whether to go to TRU or not. Our local store is actually participating, and I haven't ever gone to a TRU midnight madness event before.

I thought the slide from the announcement had it listed as the same date (only at Wal-Mart of course). I could be wrong though, I've barely been paying attention for the last 3 months.

Well, cripes, I've revised my list again. Too long to post here.
But should I find everything I want the total including tax will be approx $875.
This is without getting any Titaniums, which I think will be easy to find.
The bulk of purchases comes from $330 for vehicles, $375 for Legacy figures (including carded and multipack figures), and $50 for Galactic Heroes.
