Original Trilogy Collection / Re: "Transition" figures. You buying?
« on: October 22, 2004, 09:58 AM »
I'll be buying everything EXCEPT the repacks of early OTC figures. Repacking OTC already is pretty pathetic IMO. There's just so many cool older figures that could have been used as "filler" instead, but hey, what the hell do I know?

NO MORE REPACKS HASBRO!!! ::)

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: OTC Visual Carded Checklist
« on: August 22, 2004, 11:39 AM »
Just curious but, where can I find images of the NON OTC figures that come on the OTC style cards (Padme, Rabe, Pablo, Sly etc.) and will those images end up in this section because they come on identical cardbacks? Also, what cards are the E3 preview figures going to come on? Thanks,
Todd

JD Sports Forum! / Re: Summer Olympics

...I don't really give two ***** about the Olympics this year...

Seeing all of those empty seets for damn near every event in Athens leads me to assume many folks, at least over there, feel the same as you. Personally, I'd love to see some Olympic games of just about ANY kind.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Episode 3 Packaging Revealed!!!
« on: July 21, 2004, 05:43 AM »
It's nice to see the new packaging design for E3 but I don't care for it. It has too much black. But hey, I didn't like the E1 packaging either. Here's hoping the  incredible OTC cards make a triumphant return with NEW figures some day.

Personally, I don't recall anyone really having anti-repack sentient like they do with the OTC. It was more like a minor annoyance than anything else. Then again, the OTC line does consist of the most repacks for the size of the line than we’ve ever seen before. Again, personally, I don't mind so much.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: VOTC/OTC Purchases
« on: July 13, 2004, 06:57 PM »
Saturday I found Dagobah Luke, R2 and Yoda, as well as Jedi Luke, ANH R2, TIE Pilot, Bespin Luke, IG88 and Bossk. Today I added to that Bespin Leia, Lobot, Cloud Car Pilot, Wicket, Stormy, Old Ben, Fett and 3PO. The first batcxh was found at Meijer while the latter was at Wal*Mart. I can't wait to find the other twenty one figures. Unfortunately after that I'll probably have to wait till the end of the year or later before anything new shows up unless they expand the basic OTC line.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Vintage OTC Figures
« on: July 11, 2004, 03:57 PM »
I found the first four of these figures today, I'm assuming Leia is the htf one as she was merely one while the others were three each. Anyway, Han looks quite magnificent, the rest however just look, let's just say, not appealing to me. If it weren't for the cloth I'd gladly buy this set. They're much, much thinner than I expected for being in a protective case.

Man these were so worth the wait! I found nine different figures at a Meijer store today, they are: Dagobah Luke, Dagobah R2, Dagobah Yoda, Jedi Luke, Bespin Luke (this new paint version kicks ass), ANH R2, Bossk, IG88 and the TIE Pilot. My God these are awesome! Funny thing was that if the twelve figures I found was a complete case it was a case I was not familiar with. The twelve consisted of the nine figures mentioned above plus seconds of Bespin Luke, Bossk and IG88. Oh well, I'm just incredibly happy I found what I did.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Catwoman

This new Cat-flick looks like to be up to par with the tank that was Batman and Robin. What a cat-astrophe! As far as I'm concerned Catwoman was done properly in Batman Returns.

Wow! Just, wow!

I loved this film! It was far more emotional than I had anticipated. I thought the movie was going to have far more "action"in it than it did as well. The character development was incredible and would have simply left the last 20-30 minutes flat if it were done any other way. The emotional involvment was what made this film for me. Couple that with great acting, brilliant casting, eye-popping action, tons of cameos and plenty of "winks" to Raimi's other offerings, as well as the inevitable set-up for Spidey 3 and this could very well be THE film of 2004 as far as I'm concerned. So far nothings come close since ROTK.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: Who's getting bored?
« on: June 4, 2004, 11:00 AM »
I am! OK so maybe bored is the wrong word, it's more like I'm growing out if it than anything else I guess.

Over the last year or so I've been getting back into my true love (hobby) of model railroading, but I digress. I WAS very excited about the OTC stuff and it's fancy new packaging, even with repacks galore, but recently have been SERIOUSLY considering skipping everything, every last bit of it, until the debut of E3 figures and focusing only on model RRing. Unfortunately I probably won't be able to contain myself when I see those new cards on the pegs. Time will tell...

I really think that I only have another year, perhaps two, to give to Star Wars collecting.

That's a fine scaled Sandcrawler... for Micro-Machines sized figures! All sarcasm aside, I'll pass. Congrats to those who got what they wanted however.

I'm not sure how they can cram hundreds of thousands of years of climate change into several months but I gotta tell ya, that little PLOT HOLE alone is killing any promise for me. This weather-gone-horribly-wrong flick doesn't really do it for me anyway. However, I may take in a veiwing in a month or so some Saturday morning just becausae I'm a sucker for good FX and loud scores. Other than that, I'n not too excited. My money is on Spidey 2!!!

Standing up in the shower. Well, leaning n the wall actually. It would seem I have the uncanny ability to fall asleep while leaning or standing, and more in sitting positions. Very often during the summer, when my alarm goes off at 5:30AM I will reach over to turn the alrm off, sit straight up in bed, and fall back asleep. I later wake to a heel in the ribs as that appears to be my wifes idea of a more permenant wake-up device than my alarm clock. She is also quite fond of refering to me as "Mr. Ass-who-falls-asleep-standing up" when these semi-embarrasing stories make there rounds at holiday, work, birhtday or any other public gatherings and/or functions.  Sure, it may not be a pretty title, but it's all mine.
