I dont mind upgrading as long as the players are backwards compatible. I am not dumping 800 DVDs and rebuying them all.

From Wikipedia...

Quote
Compatibility
Backward compatibility will be available with all HD DVD players, allowing users to have a single player in their homes to play all types of HD DVD, DVD and CD discs. There is also a hybrid HD DVD format which contains both DVD and HD DVD versions of the same movie on a single disc, providing smoother transition for the studios in terms of publishing movies, and letting consumers with only DVD drives still use the discs. DVD disc replication companies can continue using their current production equipment with only minor alterations when changing over to the format of HD DVD replication. Due to the structure of the single-lens optical head, both red and blue laser diodes can be used in smaller, more compact HD DVD players.

So there you have it.

Well then i will eventually buy one.

No double-dipping for Fox!

The action explodes as never before in this 2-Disc Collector's Edition of Live Free Or Die Hard! Start with the unrated movie version, packed with more thrills, more attitude...more John McClane! Then add a spectacular 10-part documentary that takes you where no Die Hard fan has gone before, plus an uncensored interview with Bruce Willis on the studio backlot and more. With over 2 1/2 hours of special features, this is the ultimate Die Hard experience. Yippee-ki-yay!

Blu-ray version also coming out.
Surprise, surprise. Now if only Sony could of done a Director's Cut of Spidey 3 instead of around 4.  ::)

over the weekend they were doing a dead like me marathon.  i caught a couple episodes and really liked the show, so i bought seasons 1 and 2.

i love discovering a show after a couple of seasons and having a bunch of episodes to watch right away.

The Live Free or Die Hard deal isn't that sweet, it's only coming out in Blu-ray as the PG-13 version.  :-\

The 2-disc edition of Lord of War is on sale at Target for $7.50. I've seen better deals on the 1-disc version, but I was holding out for a good price on the deluxe. I picked one up tonite when I went there for gym shorts and the Holiday Special Fett--as you can imagine, the first errand was more successful than the second.

I also picked up the unrated 2-disc of Boondock Saints the other day on impulse, but at $19.99 I think I'm going to return it and hold out for a cheaper deal.

Picked these up at Target for $5.50 each. Yay for credit cards and spending paychecks I haven't yet made. *sigh*

So, is anyone picking up the first volume of the Young Indy Adventures today?  I hope to get it eventually, but just can't afford it right now - those sets are pricey!  I have been catching the episodes they play on the History Channel on Saturday mornings, it has been a long time since I've seen any of them (and I don't know that I saw all of them when they were first on).

I have never seen any of the episodes so I added it to my Netflix queue and will watch before deciding to purchase or not. If I like the first one enough I may blind-buy the next season.

Look at it this way though ...

After they combined and to a certain extent reedited the eps, I believe there's seven hour-and-a-half "movies". Seventy bucks on Amazon is around ten bucks per feature, which is pretty much the going rate for regular movie DVDs. *shrug*

Then there's enough documentaries and interactive features to make the LOTR Extended Editions feel inadequate.
