The Pens aren't playing well but I DON'T agree with your moving them Jeff because they had a sell-out streak just end not too long ago.

Wrost team in the NHL selling out (even a ****** arena), so I think moving them is a huge negative to the city and to the NHL where they'd go to either a market the NHL doesn't seemt o favor (Canada, for whatever reason), or one where it's completely unproven...

THe Slots license and new arena thing isn't a few years away either, it's like now...  They want to put the arena up as they tear the current one down, and do so quickly I guess, so they can really start bringing this gambling revenue in, but it's all to be decided very soon...

Lemieux himself won't be moving the team either, he'd sell it to someone who would if anything...  Not sure if anyone knew that or not.  He's said he's staying in Pittsburgh.  Said he's unhappy when he goes home and can't even go out to eat without being harassed so he says he's considering himself now a Pittsburgher and won't be moving wherever the team ends up.

They've sold a LOT of tickets this year, it's surprising considering their play, so I have hopes they'll stay because politics won't get in the way and everyone seems to know they're good for the city.  Pittsburgh is as good a hockey town as anywhere, we just haven't had **** to cheer for here for a long time, plus football will ALWAYS be king here irregardless of either of our sports and their successes.  The Pens have their support though, they have a plan...  It all will 100% hinge now on if the Pens group get the Slots license.  There's no other factors involved at this point.  If we don't, they're gone, if we do there's funding for a new arena lined up, there's an uptown revitilization project that hinges on it, and the Pens will be the key...

If we don't, Vegas they say is the top (and most likely the only) place to get them I guess, as the same people willing to take the license and open the Casino are the same people that would move the team to Vegas if the license wasn't granted to them.

ANd you guys all suck for wanting my team moved!  Eat penis.   >:(

They're already backing up around here.  They're just now starting to though, but Carkoon is slowly gaining pegwarmer status, especially Bib Fortuna.

Of course, the case shipping right now seems to have all the repacks as 1 to a case too, so it's not surprising that they aren't sitting.  And Fett just sells because he's Fett and he always seems to sell.  He's all I need to get for the kids and I just can't find him.

I haven't seen R2, Vader, Chewbacca or Fett yet.  Barada seems to sit a little bit, but since the new ones are packed heavier they're much more cmomon.  I just saw Leia for the first time last night though...  Han I saw for the first time earlier this week.  Bib I've seen for I guess 2 or 3 weeks now, and in multiples.  That figure just doesn't interest people overall, so I'm glad we got him and he's out of the way (or in the way on the pegs now, but "out of the way" on the resculpt list).

I think a lot of the 1 per cases moving is people trying to take an opportunity to make some $.  Call me a scalper conspiracy theorist, but I think people "into that" know there's 1 pers and they're gobbling them up either in hopes of trading them for stuff they need (fine), or outright selling them to make a buck...  The OTC was the same way, but as soon as any of the repacks was shipped in any kind of quantity, it sat.  I remember Bespin Luke's galore at some WM's around here but they were scarce for a while.  Once that island display arrived though, they sat and pegwarmed like they did in the Saga line.

Same with everything else from Snowtrooper to Imp Trooper to Madine/Lando/Han AT-St...  The repacks just puttered out like everything else if they shipped heavily.  :-\

Jim has some good ones listed...  Here's a 10 list for me.

1. What's the chances of seeing the Evolutions Line continue?  Seems like it was a hit at retail, and the figures were pretty top-rate.  I'd personally like to see an Imperial Trooper and Rebel Trooper set at some point.

2. Has Hasbro considered resculpting the Snowspeeder, Speederbike, or AT-ST so they were to-scale with the figures, better detailed, and just generally improved like the Landspeeder was?  That seems like the 3 most "doable" resculpt ships/vehicles.

3. Articulation's still an issue of some concern.  While the ROTS line came out swinging wtih a LOT of figures that were borderline super articulated in the basic line, it seems Saga 06 has been a let down with some of the articulation we've seen so far like lacking knee joints on Han, Veers, Derlin, etc.  Is this a regression across the board, or is Hasbro going to be stepping it up a notch in the future?  I personally think the POTC Cantina Wave was the ideal "Basic Standard" articulation for the line, while some figures will deserve less (senators) and still other figures will deserve more (army builders, Jedi, etc.), I feel the Cantina Wave is the nice middle ground for good poseability...  So can we get that? :)

4. What's up with the Bounty Hunt deal?  Spill it.

5. Why not re-issue the "Imperial Officer" with all 3 headsculpts but in grey uniforms?  Seems like a slam dunk.

6. Will we be seeing VOTC figures making their way into the basic line.  The Stormtrooper, Chewbacca, Han, and others are truly definitive looks at these characters, so it'd be really nice to see them re-appear in the line as THE sculpt Hasbro uses when they want that character in that outfit out on the pegs.

7. Also will you consider slight resculpting to VOTC figures to offer something new, but at a lower cost to Hasbro?  For instance, Leia with a "hood up" head would go over well I think, especially if she came with the proper sporting blaster.  A Han with gloved hands, and maybe a headset would be interesting and appreciated...  I'd even buy VOTC Chewbacca again if he came with a new Dejarrik board with the game pieces (be cool if it had them all actually).

8. Playsets...  What's the possibility of smaller modular ones that form a larger set?  If they have endless addition ability and combinations, they could be a hugely popular item I think.

9. The holo figures are different, but how much would you estimate an "accessory" like that cuts into the overall production cost of a figure?  I think people prefer a quality poseable action figure over a mini-holographic statue that costs money to tool a mold and such, so there is concern out there that the holos are cutting into the final figure's overall quality we're seeing.

10. Is the VOTC line going to be overtaking the $10 pricepoint normally reserved for Deluxe or "Ultra" figures?  It did during the OTC line, so is that what we should expect now in Saga '06?

I'm really interested in that answer on the Evolutions line.  Hasbro has a goldmine in that concept and just up and dropped it.  Makes no sense.

I view AT-AT's as a team myself like tank crews similar to Paul's analogy.

EU says there is 2 crewmen, a commander (Officer?), and then the troop complements in the back either have their field officers or there's AT-AT crewmen on each deck to "motivate" the troops into getting out. :)

They could the troops own officers or part of the walker's crew though.  I think it's more the prior than the latter.

As for the Commander, I envision an Officer-ish looking guy.  Maybe the rank's lower, but the outfit's the same, so the Veers figure is the basic look but the rank just changes.

Veers' armor/helmet is supposedly the Imperial Army Regular standard...  Some EU shows them wearing a Y-Harness get-up too over the AT-ST Driver's uniform, and then the Veers armor/helmet is their just additional armor over the gear.  I envision officers being just like Veers though, but with differences in the badge.

So to me, AT-AT's are manned by a team or crew, one officer (generally low rank) with 2 crewmen, as I see it.  They'd then be grouped into armor columns/squads I guess.

I'd generally agree Brent, however the "final 12" were shipping for MONTHS supposedly, it's just that Hasbro + monkeys running retail didn't order NEAR enough for the holiday season.

Just from my own experiences, retail was dead the day after Thanksgiving down here.  I went out Black Friday, and K-Mart was the only store that had anything substantial on the pegs.  They were cleaned out that same day due to a bogo sale putting figures at $3.50 each basically.  They had final 12 at most stores if you got out early enough, so that was cool, but I went out and then hit other retailers...  That same day I noticed that 2 Targets and a few Wal-Mart stores had few or NO figures on the pegs.  I thought there'd be restock since there was basically a month leading to the holidays, but no luck.  Retail just didn't order ****.

Hasbro either didn't produce nearly enough, or retail didn't order **** grossly misjudiging demand, or a combination of the two things.

If the final wave didn't come out till like December then I'd think they fell prey to final wave syndrome, but man there were MONTHS of those things supposedly shipping but they just never shipped heavily at all.  I found Cat Miin and Passel like in October or earlier, but even then there wasn't a lot on the pegs.  They were never full at most retailers.

Very weird this year...  And we went a long time with literally nothing on the pegs at a lot of stores.  Even now, I see (at most) 8 figures.  I saw 8 tonight of Carkoon Wave new figures...  That's it.  Someone's droppin' the ball right now...  Not to mention that, ******* up the holidays as they did, undoubtebly cost them "long-term" collectors.  I'm sure kids who didn't get anyting X-Mas morning gladly moved onto other toys more quickly than they would have if Hasbro had actually had **** out there.

Not seen Fett, Not seen Chewie...  Got Leia/Boussh tonight...  Yikes.

She's so "right" on some levels, and yet at the same time she's really all wrong on a number of levels.  As much as the articulation bugged me on the Han, I'm liking it better.  Leia is just...  meh.

The only people who benefit from chase figures are the moughbreathing simps who haunt the toy aisles in the early morning to snap up "rare" items so they can make a few bucks at the flea market while dreaming of one day having a girlfriend and moving out of their momma's basement.

Yeah, you may have that Commander Cody variant...but I've been with a woman. Take that, you marshmallow momma's boy. ;D

And with that, i'd be happy...

Read your post over at that other site too Anton, about this thread, and I laughed out loud.  That's funny.

But yeah, if Cody had:

- 2 standar shoulders
-2 ball/socket elbows
-2 wrists
-2 standard hips
-2 ball/socket knees
-1 ball/socket neck
-1 standard or ball/socket torso

Then I'm pretty happy.  I can live without ball/socket shoulders (elbow movement's more important for overall poseability), and I can live without ankle joints on pretty much ANY figure.  Not that I don't like it, I just don't think it's always necessary and in the interests of compromise with Hasbro I'm ok with losing that if it saves that much $ that they're happy and I get a poseable figure.

Sometimes the shoulders are cool to have as ball/sockets, but when you say "well, it's ball/socket shoulders, or ball/socket elbows with standard shoulders", then I'm gonna say go with the good elbows and drop the elaborate shoulder joint.

Of course, I'd have dropped a ball/socket torso (It's so cool though) if it meant the shoulders would've gotten the ultimate treatment.

I did, left it go over night, but haven't tried to actually load up and play.  Honestly I'd be surprised if my system handled it ok.  It's requirements were low as I recall but I'm planning to try it soon just to see.

I'm really hoping for Impy Officers, Rebel Officers/Pilots...  Stuff like that.  I'd dig some random secondary characters too though, I have to admit.  If Morrison showed I'd dig a Jango autograph, or like I said a bulloch/Boba auto would be cool.

I just don't get too much into the random people then though.  I just don't have wall space for it.  No Jabba's Dancers auto's for me, haha. :)

I would love main characters but I'm ok not getting those.

About the only auto I really want that I know would be hard to get is a Tarkin/Cushing autograph.  Just because he's my all-time favorite character of the films, and also I loved Cushing in his other works too, so I'd love his autograph on a good Tarkin photo.  :(

What a fantastic read.  And what a great number of pages added after only just an evening away.

I seriously have to laugh though...  I love the "They're obsessed with me" defense KitKatFlimFlam pulled over at RS.  The same lame-ass defense every knob has tried since the dawn of the internet when everyone calls them out on douchebaggery.

I love that he seems to know more about what is going on this thread than anyone knows about what's going on with him anywhere.  Obsessed?  Indeed, but not the way he sees it I guess.

Really, this pain could end if he'd really just be civil, turn over a new leaf, be the stand-up guy and admit that he acted like a dick throughout his early times elsewhere to earn a bad name among his "elder" forum members over yonder.  It's not like the hostility towards him is unwarranted...  He's notorious for attacks, he's notorious for holding grudges, he's arrogant and condescending, he's a troller and flamer at forums he's on...  I'd have more respect if he'd admit the fact that he picked the fights that have earned this reputation for him now...  That he came by this honestly and regretted being the same "idiot noob" he so hates and openly loathes over there.

Either way though, whatever...  He's an angry guy, he can't get his jollies unless someone hates him because he likes stirring **** in a social setting...  He's the girl (in any girl clique) that talks **** behind every one of her friend's backs while watching the chaos ensue, and he enjoys seeing the anger and focus on what he started...  It's why he dumps on people who like the classic trilogy, it's why he dumps on collectors who have complaints, it's why he dumps on anyone...  It's just who he is.  People like that are on all forums, and generally in every social setting anywhere you go.  He's not even the only one of his kind at Scum...  He just makes his voice the most known.

I'd like to invite Mister Kenobi back to continue our discussion from last time.

Yes, his "Jackhole" account has indeed been unbanned here.  In fact, it was kind of a mistake that he wound up being banned in the first place, as we were rather excited to be able to chat with him over here.

So Jackhole, please come back and play with us.  We'd love to have you...  :)

- Matt

Matt speaks the truth here btw.

That night Dale/myself/Matt were on and Dale (doing his job) quickly canned MattKattNadam for being a peckerhead.  Everything about his nic and profile was bannable, much less his actions on the forums which were blatantly meant to start a fight here with staff.  So **** happens.  He got canned and left, and I think I quickly reinstated him but he was gone...  Like Matt says though he wasn't meant to be banned and only got re-banned because none of us were around to basically babysit the kid (which he needed).  By all means though, he's welcome to defend himself but from what I saw last time he just came to try and throw a few insults out with the full intent of getting tossed out on his ass right away.  Hardly anything that would compell any of you to read what he said.
