The arms look long, but I agree it looks like its just the angle they are positioned at.  Luke's right hand is almost touching the light saber, which is a considerable distance from Luke's chest.  I'm thinking they'll end up coloring the lightsaber, but the clear one is kind of cool; even if its inaccurate...

Jesse, I see just the opposite at KMart.  The week before christmas they put out a huge pile of them, must've been atleast 40 of them.  Atleast half of them were still there yesterday.  When they did their $50 sale they only had about 5 on the sales floor at any given time, which is pretty much how they were stocked up until they put out that huge pile.  Now I'm sure they sold a bunch, but they are the only retailer in my neck of the woods that is sitting on a significant stockpile.

(I remember the timing of the release of the stockpile because I had seen one of those walker/armor suits from the Avatar line that I was going to repurpose as somekind of munitions loader for the Imperials, and I checked back into that KM two days in a row...).

Now should be when Hasbro does a rerelease on some of those hard to find cinema scenes.  I know they aren't doing cinema scenes right now, but it seems like the time to do that.

The AT-ST, if it HAD to be an exclusive, should have been with one of Hasbro's existing retail partners.  Even if it had done just OK for Target it would have sold far more units than a smash hit at Kohl's.  Heck they could have given Walmart the AT-AT and Target the AT-ST.

I only ever see the ROTS Clone, Sandtrooper and Anakin/Vader in any significant quantities at Target, Walmart and Kmart locally.  I wish Kmart had done a buy one get one this week (I missed the one a couple weeks ago...  :'( ) because I'd like to pick up some more of the Sandies.

I think its a positive that the figures that are peg warming are ones that would get bought up quickly if they do a sale (individuals buying multiples) as opposed to pegwarmers from previous lines which sat because buyers were unlikely to pick up a second of that character.

I think there were a lot of people scratching their heads about Kohls getting this exclusive.  Is Kohls really that big a player in the toy retail market?  Sure we have a few locally, but I think generally the impression is that they are nearly entirely a clothing retailer, that also happens to have some toys, etc.  If anything Hasbro should have saved this set and had it be the followup for the AT-AT's general release.  The AT-AT is a great toy and I think would have sparked demand for people to buy a followup like the AT-ST.

Either way, as long as it reaches retail somewhere in the US (Heck, make it an exclusive to Marshalls/TJ Maxx/etc...).

Of course it also says you "must buy two for offer".  So having the unit price explicitly mentioned should be enough to quiet that argument, since its not technically a twofer.  They'll probably just fall back on the "The Vintage Line isn't pictures, we only price-match on the specific figures pictured.." line.   :P

^^Thanks Jeff.  I hadn't seen that Q&A.  I think the 9-pack works well for nostalgia style collectors and also for parents looking for a nice large present.   It'll be interesting to see what the 3-packs look like in the spring!

I'm confused.  The upcoming Target set is a 9 pack.  But in the Q&A, hasbro refers to the next wave (spring '11) as 3-packs.  Am I reading that right that the next wave will have packs of three available for sale, or will it probably be packaged together, 9 total figures/1 bar code (like the winter '10 offering)?
