Hehe, is the horny jedi dead? ;D

Great preview pic.  Must be for a new chapter right. Or is it for the Anti-Jedi Sentiment Chapter?
Nice Kashykk clones.  Qui-George picked up alot of them.

You paint apps are very good especially your drybrushing and washing skills.  :)

Hi BrentS, nice work on the PN and on the Council Chamber.

For the Palace are you going to base it on the Palace form the Bounty Hunter Game?
There were two levels that showed interior sections of her palace,  one was mostly an arena but it does show her throne and layouts for rooms.  The other was a psuedo- market place.

If you want images of this, google or yahoo these terms.

Bounty; Hunter; Concept Art

There are only a couple of images b ut hopefully they will help.
Better yet take a look at the guide book for the game. ( I would scan the images for you, but I have no scanner :-[)
Sounds like a great but expensive project.  Good Luck

Your assault craft looks pretty good, just needs a cleaned up paint job and of course the light sabers and text done like every one else said.

Great job on the skull.  That is expert paint apps right there.

Customizing Tips and Tricks / Re: ball jointing heads
« on: May 29, 2006, 01:29 PM »
For hollowing helmets a combination of the following or what works best for you.

1. standard small bore drill bit
2. Cylindrical grinding stone or sanding bit
3. Cone shaped grinding stone

For converting Peg heads to ball joints.

1. standard small bore drill bit
2. Ball shaped high speed engraving bit 1/8" or larger

For the engraver bit a large on will get it done faster but you can't control the size of the hole as easily.  The 1/8" requires more work to use and paitience but affords more control in size and depth of the socket you are making.

Past threads have more on this subject.

Good luck with your customs starkid.

1. Add comander binocs,  but with the slit painted green for night vision effect. (paint a #33 head to match the shadow trooper body)
2. Make a wrist launcher for a magnetic grappling hook (does not need to work)
3. Make a directional microphone gun with holster for evesdropping.
4. datapad, access cable, and pouch for the datapad on the kama.

Star Wars Action Figures / Re: Mitsukara's customs
« on: May 27, 2006, 08:31 PM »
I use Testors my self right now.  They have a decent set of colors available in a model car paint set at walmart for $6-7 but it has no yellow paint in it ???.  But it has a great selection of tan, gray and blue paint, and you can shade and tint with black and white.  There is also red, silver and a gloss black and white which are good for boots and armor, a word of warning though, the blues are also gloss.

They stick pretty well except in the joints.  Not as good as Tamiya but it is a good set to start out with.

DN, the discoloration is from the superglue oxidizing from contact with the air (usually happens with Krazy glue brand).  You can wipe off most of the white stuff with a slightly damp wash cloth, and then cover up the rest with paint.

Nice customs but they can get slighty monochromatic at times so the browns are a plus.  Cool insignia and good PN concept

Star Wars Action Figures / Re:

Yo Glassman, looked at your thread and I will go that route.  If I sculpt it would you cast it for me and send me the cast?  You can keep the original to cast for everyone else.

If yes give me some time to make it and I'll PM you when its ready to be sent.

My reasons for not using the GI Joe head.

1. I want to make a unique and rarely done helmet.
2. Don't have any GI Joes at all.

Also, fogot to ask this

How did Glassman expand the helmet?

Star Wars Action Figures / SA Bossk/Trandoshan Merc ?
« on: May 19, 2006, 05:28 AM »
Has anyone else tried a custom Bossk/Trandoshan with a VTSC Luke body?

The uniform is similar and with added details it can be a close match.  However the height of the figure is an issue.

I am starting one right now with a POTF2 Bossk and a VTSC Pilot Luke.  I would've prefered to use a Saga Bossk but I don't have one available.  Anyways, I have the arms and legs attached and it looks pretty good.  If any of you has done this can you tell or show me what you did?

Toy Reviews / Re: New JD Review: VTSC Han (Trench Coat)
« on: May 19, 2006, 04:52 AM »
Actually Mitsukara, the Carbonite Han head is anatomically correct in scale to the VTSC Han body.  The "giraffe" neck is not there.  Try look at an anatomical chart of the human body and you will see that the neck is in scale with the new head. (I recently took an anatomy/physiology class).

In contrast the VTSC head is too small and it makes the neck look too short.
A head swap between the two is definately the way to go, and aside from the easily fixed skin color difference, it looks great.

PS.  A Saga Jabba's palace Luke head (just have to dremel the new socket on the deeper side), and a Saga RFT vest painted golden yellow makes a great SOTE Luke.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: 5 most wanted repacks
« on: May 18, 2006, 04:40 AM »
My list:

OTC

VOTC Boba Fett
VTSC Endor Han
VTOC Stormtrooper
VTSC Scout Trooper
VTSC Pilot Luke

My reasons:

All are great SA custom fodder, Mandos, troops, smugglers, pilots galore.

PT

ROTS Red Royal Guard
ROTS SA Clone with extra AOTC head
CW Arc Trooper
POTJ Security Battle Droid
SAGA 06 Scorch

Again, all are great custom fodder and army builders.

Saga Collection '06 / Fixing VTSC Endor Han's leaning posture.
« on: May 17, 2006, 02:35 AM »
Hi everyone, ya know how Han leans to the side in a slouch?
Well that is because his ball joint peg is stuck.  If you carefully push the torso to the opposite side, the peg will snap free and it will have full side to side and front to back articulation.

Just a heads up for everyone that complained about it.
