Here's hoping for the best.  Bale is a magnificent actor, but I just hope that the Batman franchise takes a turn in the right direction.  I don't know, I was always fond of Michael Keaton as Batman.

Stevie Ray Vaughan should've been in the top 3.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Gas Prices
« on: August 28, 2003, 05:37 PM »
Yes, I blame it on the monopolistic business practices of huge corporations.  I mean, is there really anyone out there to compete with Exxon/Mobil or Chevron/Texaco?  The current national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $1.75, an all-time high.  Unfortunately the way the system is set up, we're at the mercy of huge corporations and special interests.  The same holds true for huge pharmaceutical companies and utility companies.  They control us.  I guess it's nice to have at least one foot in the door of the nation's highest office. :)

Saga '02-'04 / Re: AOTC Preview Clone Trooper
« on: August 25, 2003, 01:52 PM »
I have two preview Clone Trooper figs and that's good enough for me.  The preview CT's static pose didn't leave much room for versatility (which is precisely why I only bought two).

No one will ever be able to top Gene Wilder's performance as Willy Wonka...ever.

Given the incipiency of Lobot's Dup, consider these vintage cards part of your collection Virex.  I'll send them out ASAP.  They are an integral part of any Lobot collection.  If I come across any other Lobot related items (i.e. Lobot bathrobe, Lobot boxer shorts, Lobot toothbrush, Lobot pencil, etc.), I'll be sure to let you know.

(In fact, I love that headset so much, that I've begun the preliminary sketches for making my own custom one.  I just shaved my head yesterday, to get the fitting down just right, and hopefully, I'll be able to start this bad boy here pretty soon.  I'll post pics of the work-in-progress, okay?)

I can't wait!  I love your virtual shrine to Lobot.  It's great and I'm glad that you shared it with everyone.  BTW, do you know if it's the world's largest Lobot collection?  At any rate, if it's not, it's certainly the best.  Praise Lobot!

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Do Any of Your Figures Get "Replaced"?
« on: August 21, 2003, 10:01 PM »
I've "upgraded" several of my figs, but I've kept most of their POTF2 counterparts.  The only POTF2 figs I got rid of were the first few "steroid" waves.  Of course, at the rate Hasbro is going in terms of resculpts, you could find yourself "upgrading" figs of Chewie, Maul, and R2 practically every other month.  :)

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Your Best of 2003 (So Far)
« on: August 20, 2003, 02:45 PM »
The best of 2003:
- R4-I9
- R5-D2
- Wat Tambor
- Poggle The Lesser (from the screen scene)
- Carkoon Fett (especially once you replace the missile on his jetpack)
- Anakin Secret Ceremony (despite the fact that he has a skinny arm & robot hand)
- Hoth Han (with his mask on)
- Throne Room Jedi Luke (yes, the head looks kinda bad, but the statuesque pose works for the fig)
- Tusken Raider
- Darth Tyranus Geonosian Escape

The duds of 2003:
- Flying "Happy Meal" R2
- Throne Room Vader
- Treadmill Padme
- Skewered Mace
- Acklay Obi-Wan

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: What do you buy at the Movie Snack Counter?
« on: August 15, 2003, 05:34 PM »
I've learned to sneak a complete dinner with me to the movies, which consists of a T-bone, baked potato, dinner roll, and dessert (one Snickers bar).  I mean, a whole 1.5 - 2 hours of not eating or snacking is ridiculous.
