Watto's Junk Yard / Favorite 80's Teen movie
« on: July 31, 2003, 12:55 AM »
I'm a huge fan of John Hughes and the 80's teen movie genre in general.  Ah, the memories.  So how about you?  Which 80's teen movie was/is your favorite?

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Drop Kick Joe!
« on: July 25, 2003, 02:10 PM »
I found reissued Leia, Han, and Maul at Kay-Bee last night in fine condition. Kicked 'em around the floor a bit to keep scalpers away and put them back.

Then I went to Sears and started poking airholes in the lawnmower boxes when the store associates weren't looking. Can't stand mint packaging. Must've been a bad childhood experience I've repressed.

Tonight I'm going cardbending at TRU. Just G.I. Joe and Transformers though. Not a lot of Star Wars stuph that hasn't already been broken in.

Excellent work!  Mister PL must be a card angel.

Anyone else here use Guzzlefish to keep track of your DVD collection?

Now I do.  ;)  Thanks for the link.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Saddam's Two Sons Killed in U.S. Raid

How long does everyone here think it will take to kill Saddam?  I'm thinking they'll get him by the end of the year (at least I hope so).

What about Bin Laden?!  Wasn't he wanted "dead or alive?"

At any rate, I'm glad they got Saddam's sons.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Santa Yoda!
« on: July 19, 2003, 06:54 PM »
You guys just gotta realize that these "gimmicks" aren't anything new. They are just McQuarrie concept sketches coming to life in the form of figures.

And that makes the idea less silly how?  It's still a gimmick.  And for the record, I think it's just as silly to have multiple versions of the same fig (especially when they didn't really change costumes in the movie).  Good examples include Anakin, Jango, Chewie, & R2.  Of course, some collectors will buy the 20th version of Maul with a smile.  More power to to them.  Anyway, there's no doubt that there's obviously a market for SW X-mas figs.  But then again, there's also quite a market for N'Sync CD's too.

A Saint Patrick's Day Yoda figure would've been much better.  I sense a Valentine Leia & Pilgrim Luke fig coming real soon.....

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention how annoying it is when people pronounce the word "et cetera" as "eck cetera" or say "anyways" instead of "anyway."

I've recently gotten into Euro-pop/synth darkwave stuff like Apoptygma Berserk and Funkervogt, it's working for me at the moment.

Apoptygma Berserk is awesome.  I especially like the song "Come Lie Next To Me."  Good stuff.   8)

I mainly listen to electronica/electronic music.  I like classic rock, but I despise college rock.  I also despise most country music.

Sexy, sexy!

(Found this in one of Force Guy's posts at. . .  the other place.   Hope you don't mind, Force Guy, but some of us just couldn't stand it any longer!)  ;)

That's quite alright.  :)
