Yes, this was one of the few figures in the vintage line to have a removable helmet (as I recall, the only others were Lando as Skiff Guard, Leia in Endor Poncho, and POTF Luke Stormtrooper).  I always thought it was a very nifty figure, and its detailing was reasonably screen-accurate.

The 2006 update is nice.  On the plus side, the likeness to Carrie Fisher is very good, and the figure is in the proper scale to represent her shorter stature.  The removable thermal detonator is also nice touch.  On the minus side, the bronze color of the pike does not appear to be correct--it looks black to me in the source image--and the plastic is WAY too flexible.

I always loved the vintage cardback and think it is one of the most striking of the line (gotta love that Kenner airbrushing that really makes the image pop.)  It would be awesome to see Hasbro release a brand new resculpt of this figure in the Vintage collection on this card.

I had the original as a kid and I thought he was pretty cool.  I remember thinking that the photo on the card was of an actual person--it wasn't until many years later that I found out that it was only a miniature--creepy how realistic those ILM guys could make them!   :)

Sure, Hasbro didn't need to do an all-new figure, but I'm pretty impressed that they did so instead of just going the cheap route and re-releasing the OTC figure in Saga Legends.

It would be nice if they have a running change with a different head along the way to give some variety.

Interesting that Hasbro is using the exact same vintage card photos for the Gamorrean Guard, Wooff, and Rebel Commando, but they don't seem to be heavily airbrushed/colorized like the original Kenner versions.

Wicket's nameplate now reads just "Wicket" and not "Wicket W. Warrick" (which is probably for the best because I never understood why he got a full name anyway except that it was undoubtedly a tongue-in-cheek reference to Warwick Davis).

I agree that Yoda with a lightsaber on a ROTJ card is a little bit of sacrilege.  Why isn't Hasbro releasing him with a brand new card in the ROTS wave???  It would make more sense to pair him with the Senate Duel Sidious.

Luke looks almost naked without a cloak on that card... I wish they would have found a different photo and made him a Death Star Duel version (which everyone wanted in the vintage line but never got).

Ackbar is incredible and is definitely the update we've all been waiting for--same with the Gamorrean.

It's a nice set....much more than I think anyone anticipated.  Would have been cool if it included an updated AT-ST, but the inclusion of the original--along with the blue-coated Han Solo and turret--gives it a very nostalgic, vintage feel.

(I like to think that, offscreen, Luke went all medieval on a bunch of Snowtroopers and a scout walker after he downed that AT-AT with the grenade, just like he's doing in this pack!)  ;D

Anyway, these images are great!!!  Thanks for leaking them early!
