Hmmm... I haven't pulled the trigger on any of these RAH figures yet, but this Cyclops has me seriously reconsidering it.

He always was my favorite X-Man.  Might have to hit eBay and see if I can find a good deal...  ;)

Looks like the MouseDroid gang have found some great new pictures of these guys.

The carded shots are kinda blurry, but the loose ones are great!

Hmmm... looks like the loose shots are gone now?

I just don't get all these high-priced auctions for clone repaints.

Why do people pay big $$$ for a single repainted clone?   ???

I understand the ones we did for charity, but I don't understand the average guy who will drop $100 for 4 clones.  Sure, it's only $25 each, but I've got a better way to spend the cash.  Go to Target/TRU/Wal-Mart and buy a bunch of #41 Clones.  At about $5-6 each, you should be able to get around 15 Clones with some change.  Then, go grab a few brushes and a few bottles of cheap Folk Art/Apple Barrel paint ($1 each at most places).

There, now you just spent $100 and you can have 15 repainted clones!  Painting really isn't that tricky, and after trying it a few times (say 15 times with all those clones you bought), you'll get pretty good pretty quick!

Maybe people are just afraid to try?  I know I was afraid at first, but most of those acrylic paints are so water soluable that if you mess up on the first shot, it's easy to strip the paint and try again!

Watto's Junk Yard / When Snakes Attack
« on: October 6, 2005, 04:14 PM »
I really wasn't sure where to put this, but I couldn't let it go without bringing it up for those that missed it (I saw it on the news last night).

It's the carcass of a six-foot American alligator protruding from the mid-section of a 13-foot Burmese python after the snake apparently swallowed the alligator and burst resulting in the deaths of both animals.

Python Bursts After Trying to Eat Gator

Stuff like this is what makes animals so cool - man, that snake had balls to try to eat an alligator.  Wow, just wow.   :o

I need to decide what I am going to make... so far, I am not sure.

Ditto.  I have no idea what to do.   ???

Last time, I liked the idea of trying a Marvel-esque Bounty Hunter to make it a bit different from the norm, but this time there is no norm!   :D

Still not sure if I should do a scary alien custom or one of those "candy corn" troopers!

I'm wondering if this line will continue next year?

Back during Comic-Con there was a rumor that 2006 would be filled with more re-packs and repaints and that is it.  You might recognize the guy who posted it here...  :P

According to this report at Rebelscum, it sounds like more repacks are coming in the GH line in 2006....

....Anyways, after the repacked and repainted ROTS packs, this is what is rumored to be released (from the early Playskool days of this line):

Hoth 2-Pack (Luke Skywalker and Han Solo?)
Endor 2-Pack with Speeder Bike (Luke?)
Endor 2-Pack with Speeder Bike (Scout Trooper?)
Geonosis 2-Pack (Mace Windu and Geonosian Warrior?)
Coruscant 2-Pack
Emperor with red Shock Trooper

;)  I still haven't heard of any new sets, but it sounds like the other repack/repaint sets mentioned in that report are still a possibility for 2006.

I've got to get these too, since I've got all of these released so far.  I'm still annoyed that they went to repacks with these.

Is Anakin not a repack too?  I haven't thought about these guys for a while, but I seem to remember thinking they were one repack with one repaint.

It's hard to tell in the picture there, but Anakin is a "sith-eyes" repaint.  I think the other three (Obi-Wan, Vader, and Yoda) are pretty much the same though.

You can see anakin's "sith eyes" better in this picture (which I cropped off a GH SDCC photo):

A nice update at Hasbro on that last batch of figures.

I'll probably pick up these sets and dump the duplicates (Obi-Wan, Yoda, Vader).

Possible Spoilers.... You've been warned.

yeah, almost like a "lord of the flies" thype of thing.

The people from the tail section go "tribal" while the others maintain a sense of civility, should be interesting to see what happen when the two groups clash.

My wife and I are also on board with the "the people who have Jin/sawyer/mike are from the tail section".  I think the reason they are holding them captive is because they fear that jin/saywer/mike are "the others"

I guess we will wait and see...

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Battle of Carkoon Wave
« on: October 6, 2005, 10:23 AM »
Mousedroid has a first look at this wave,

Wow, just when we were complaining we hadn't see new pictures yet, here they come!

I'm really glad to see the Boushh removable helmet, just wish the pictures were bigger!

As for the mini-hologram figures - eh.  Could be cool depending on the character, but I really dread the thought of all the variations it could lead to.  I will hate to have to try to collect all those too, especially if it means having to buy figures I already have to open then to get the stupid things.  :(

I was in the last one before it turned crazy and got closed. Any chance you can squeeze one more in?  :)

Revenge of the Sith / Re: ROTS Recent Purchases

I picked up both of the Duel at Mustafar / Lava Reflection figures (2 sets) and a 2nd Clone Attack on Coruscant Battle Pack from the local Target tonight!

Also got my first Bly and second Gree in a trade (and opened both of them)!

Definitely a good day!   ;D

Woot!   ;D

Picked up my set at a local Target tonight (along with a second Clone Battle Pack).

After seeing these figures in person, I decided to buy 2 sets - the carded set I was going to originally buy as well as an opener set.  Sure, they are $13 bucks each and it's probably too much but I kinda like them in a "lava-y" sort of way.  With the light just right, they do kinda have a reflection that makes them look like they might be on a lava field.   :)

Another great deal with John!   :)

He helped me build up the Clone Army by nabbing me a few Shocktroopers, Bly, & Gree, and for that I say thanks again!

I just spent some time going through the TSN.ca listings for all the teams and I stick by my guns that I don't see the Sharks being a top three team.  We'll see, but I suppose a lot has to do with the year Nabokov has.

Some people I know are BANKING on Nabokov to have an excellent year...  especially those people who took him in their fantasy hockey league.  :-[
