Newbies / Re: How's the post padding over here????

Lady Jaye, welcoem to JD.

I'm glad that there is a no post padding rule here.........I never did see the point in post padding.......after all....if you're just posting to build post count numbers then I really don't see the point...and chances are the post won't contain a much thought out response anyways.

I'm REALLY happy with how things are run here......JD is a tight knit group of FRIENDS..........

If this is what you're loking for too then welcome aboard  8)

Dude, I hear ya.....I'll do what I can to impart knowledge to you bro.....

The thing that's fun with larger lots is it's great to get large lots and end up with extras.....thos will come in handy for trading for other figs that you need.....and I guarantee you will come out better buying in quantity in the long run.

I've gotta get back to work now.....I'm in the middle of building some cabinets.......so I'll reply later and let you in on the secrets of the "drop test" to help you ID repro weapons ;)

Peace, Brian

Most vintage non-POTF figs can be had for under $10....if you're patient. A $40 BIN for a bespin Leia is laughable at best........I wouldn't pay over $10 for her complete and mint....why? Because there are tons of these figs out there guys......honestly there is.

I can find mountains of figures at the Plano,Texas Sci Fi show for $5 a pop...complete too. Last year I made the run out to that show with my wife when EP2 came out....there was a show that weekend.......I totally cleaned one dealer out of vintage ship and playset parts......the dealer also had 4 big plastic tubs full of loose figures, in plastic holders, mostly mint with weapons....and original weapons at that....his asking price? $2-$3 apiece!

I run into scenarios like this alot from time to time.........but I don't bother picking them up because I really don't need any other figures other than the 4 last POTF figs I need...and army builders I might want.

But PLEASE, take the time and patience to search ended auctions......and don't jump on the first fig you see......you'll soon find that even most of the vintage POTF figs can be found easily on E-bay........

Honestyl, if you're looking to get into vintage then just take a few weeks to browse the auctions......ALWAYS keep the BIN page ready...and refresh it every 5 minutes......

You will see that if you can stay up till waaaay early in the morning to watch auctions then you will find the best deals ;)

IMO that wasn't that great of a deal.....the only bonus was all of the original weapons.....but the figures look beat.

Try to round up about $300+ and watch for the larger collections.......I've had great luck with larger lots above this price range.....and you'll usually net a bunch of vehicles and playsets...as well as 50+ figures......sometimes more.

I too believe in calling my friends by thier first name....after all.....aren't we all friends? I know I've traded or talked with most of the staff members at some point before joining JD......and most of us used to post in threads at RS and we'd converse there........so I consider all of you guys my friends.

As soon as I signed up I added my first name to my sig....I have nothing to hide...... ;D

Hi Batman,

If you can’t get it sorted out, you could try www.villagephotos.com . This is one of the few (free) image-hosting sites than allows outside linking of pictures (i.e. they host it, and you can post it on any forum you like).

ACk!  Don't use them!  Villagephotos seems to be down at least 25% of the day.  Bleh.

Actually, I use Villagephotos for my avatars and such......I haven't had alll that much problem with downtime for my pics ;)

I saw the full Hulk trailer at the theater Friday night right before F&F2 came on.

Honestly, I am a Hulk fan...as well as my wife.......and I liked what I saw of the Hulk scenes.....but I think that another actor would look better for Bruce Banner's portrayal.

Still, I'll see this movie......and hopefully it won't be too bad ;)

Dang Scott, that collection mirrors what mine did about 3 years ago......I don't have that much stuff yet.......but I do have a few interesting pieces that you don't have pictured....like a boxed Split Seconds VW Detonator and two carded sets of Argentinan figures.....these were molded in exclusive colors ;)

I really love M.A.S.K. alot....as I grew up watching that cartoon almost every day.

Thanks for sharing the pics :)
