Kubricks / Re: Recent Acquisitions

no, I gave up that aspiration, as some that are or were quite expensive weren't all that appealing to me. Especially with the carded realm getting much larger, and not offering much new. I haven't updated my spreadsheet in a while, but I would guess I am at least 10-12 short of the full loose collection.

Tion Medon arrived today. I've been dragging my feet for a long time on that one.  ::)

Always nice to put a new kubrick in the display.  :)

Gentle Giant / Re: Jumbo Kenner Wampa

I love the look of the wampa, and a vinty jumbo dewback would absolutely find a home in my collection.
The jumbo line looks great, but space and costs have been a non-starter for me. Back in 1995, before 18 years of hoarding, I might have been on from the get-go.

It's been a great concept, they remind me of the 400% kubricks. the wampa, tauntaun, and dewback were some of my favorite kenner items, right after the at-at.

just out of curiousity, why is it so hard to find these chases? I mean I know they are expensive, but you would assume people would like to make some money. Were they short printed??

Hammerhead
Uncle Owen
Rebel Commander
Imperial Commander
At St Driver

FYI  500.00 is so wrong to pay for these. I hope they come out with carded versions much cheaper. ;D ;D
Don't forget the amputee R2-Q5!

Every chase since DX1 has been like this. I would guess that you are right, they were probably much smaller runs. What surprises me is that the basic series go very cheaply, especially considering what a box costed! It seems like the lower run should have the basic figures floating higher too. So maybe the demand is simply that much lower, and that is why they aren't doing baic series at the moment.

With the exception of some of these rare dx chases, prices are as low as I have ever seen them for the earlier series. I used to pay an average of probably $18 or so for stormtroopers when I was amassing my troops. Now they go for $12 or so, when you can find them. A full set of series 5, 6 or 7 might only get $25-30. I used to pay $20 just for an extra gammorrean.

definately a good deal, nice hit!

Come to think of it, I can't remember the last time I even saw an owen on the bay- I'm setting up some tatooine sets with my daughter, and owen would be nice to add. I'm just glad Justin scored me the hammerhead early in the game.  ;)

I've had both scout types come in loose purchases, but the only boxed one I have seen is the dirty version.

I picked up a BXH 400% Boba Fett for $29.99. No gun, but everyone needs another Fett at that price!

No Justin, I will not divulge where i found it....  >:D

It's a very nice set up!

I wish I had a Hoth Rebel and AT-ST Driver.    :'(

They would  just be confined to plastic baggies and rubbermaid tubs anyhow!  (But I too wish I had an AT-ST driver)

I have both Kenobi's and the carded one has clearly darker gray hair.  Confirmed.   ;)

Same here, very clear difference when side by side.

It's hard to say that the show is a let down, because I don't think any of us were thinking there would definately be another series announced. But it still sucks. I have an itch to buy some star wars toys, and neither Medicom nor Hasbro seem to care much.

Guess I'll buy those new wheels and lift kit for the jeep after all. Thanks toy manufacturers!

Might as well start a thread  ;)

I saw one on ebay with a starting bid of $99 already  ::)

I will mostly likely pass unless this becomes a $35 item-

I'm not trying to bust you balls I'm generally curious, how would they do a Bespin Han different from this:

He was hiding behind Lando's giant cape on my shelf, I forgot all about him! I'd rathr see something else for sure.

But C-3PO is $50 or more on ebay, and I would like a loose shiny version without paying that kind of coin...

Time for an optimistic thought (dream)-

June 24th reveal: Bespin luke with battle damage, leia red gown, lobot, bespin guard, Han with bespin jacket, C-3po in parts. chases: black bespin guard, ugnaught. no dx series, just a basic set with one common and one rare chase, 2 bbg per MC, one Uggie.

It only just dawned on me that Medicom chose C-3PO and R2 because it's the 30th anniversary of ROTJ and these two are obviously ROTJ variants easy enough to put on a ROTJ card.  ;)

Good catch! I still wish they had made a little effort and done something newish- like a weequay or barada. Maybe they are part of the yet to be shown new basic set... That I am hoping exists somewhere besides my imagination...
