As much as everyone hates the new Spider Droid (it's not that bad, not that good either), I was beggining to wonder how the general response would be once the Tank hits shelves (again)?
I will be pretty happy when I see one, since I never saw a Fed.tank in the stores, and I'll definately pick one up.
How about you guys/gals? Also feel free to give your opinion of the Spider Droid too.

The Spider Droid isn't terrible, but of course seeing that big, nasty, white, wind up dial protruding to activate the walking action feature is NOT cool. It also looks pretty small, scale wise. But like I said, it's not the worst thing I've ever seen - not half bad.
The Trade Federation Tank was a pretty nice vehicle it's first time around in the Episode 1 line, but I know that it was very hard to find for many people, so for that very reason I'm all for seeing it re-released. Besides that fact, it's an "army builder" vehicle, so I'm sure some people would like the chance to pick up a few extras as well. Bring it on!

I am happy they are releasing it again...I have two I think maybe one, and I found them at the great KB Clearances in late '00 I think. Nice vehicle...were they in Episode 2 at all? I don't think they were which makes little sense

Nope, not in AOTC. But I'm pretty sure this Tank rehash is being released in the 'Clone Wars' line, which will pretty much be "EU", so they can take some liberties...

I thought it was a good vehicle the first time around. It was certainly a little scarce. I think it wound up not getting produced in as high a quantity as the pod racers because those wound up warming shelves a little.
I certainly think it's cool that Hasbro's giving people a second chance to get some of these things. We certainly shell out enough to them, and it's nice to see them returning the favor by offering some HTF items like the Tank and the TIE Bomber.

I agree it was a nice item. They were not scarce or rare around here. They sat at Meijers for I don't know how long. It will be cool to see them in Saga packaging though. :P ;)

I think they'll most likely wind up in the new Clone Wars packaging - which should be different from the regular Saga packaging (like the old SOTE change).

I don't mean to get too far off-topic, but, I wonder if/what else Hasbro might re-release as "Saga"?
How about the Eopie w/ Qui-Gion for starters?

I am all for the tank being rereleased. I did not have the chance to pick one up at reatil last time so I hope to find one or two this time around.

Mac, this may sound pathetic, but what "Clone Wars" packaging? I was not aware of any changes. Am I going crazy??

The Clone Wars line is supposedly going to be coming in all new red and yellow packaging, which I'm assuming will only apply to this specific line, and not the rest of the Saga figures. I'd guess that it will be akin to the SOTE line, which was exclusively packaged in a purple color, while the rest of the regular line continued on in orange during the same time (followed sortly thereafter by green)...
I'd fashion a guess that Hasbro just might be showing off this "EU" subset line in a week and a half at Toy Fair, since they've let most of their other upcoming stuff out of the bag already.

Now is the Tank just a repack in a new box or is it going to have some differnt paint job or somehting to make it different? If it is different in some way I will pick one up. If not I will pass since I have an E1 version.

I'm fairly confident that it is exactly the same. The only minor paint differences it MAY have are variation in blast marks, I think.

We all know that we are getting a rerelease of the ATT,my question is why not take out that droid door feature,and have a detailed crew area,kinda like 21st Centuy would do?
What do ya think?

If they just scrapped the old tank mold and made a 21stC styled tank... that'd be the most awesome thing ever. :o Unfortunately, Hasbro's not all that creative (whatever creativity it takes to steal an idea, they don't appear to have that, either, considering the GI Joe line...).
I don't like the stupid droid door thing, but I gotta get one... Hopefully I'll find one, that is, I haven't been so lucky with any of the Saga line yet.

My wife pulled through again for me today! First she gets me the new Jedi Starfighter, and today she picked up one of the Armored Assault Tanks (AAT) at a local TRU. This AAT is sweeeeeeeet! The details on the box are incredible, and of course this is probably going to stay put in the box. I wanted to share some pictures with everyone here, so check 'em out.

So is this Tank the exact same one as the Episode 1 Tank? If so I will have to pass.

It's basically the same tank, but the "damaged" Battle Droid is red instead of the beige/brown color from EP1. The overall paint job appears to be exactly the same as the EP1 version. But, since I wasn't able to pick one of these up with EP1 toys were dominating shelves, this was a "must have" item. And hey, my wife bought it for me! How can I go wrong with that? 8)

Another case of Hasbro not using their noodle. First they put the glove on the wrong hand of the Jedi Luke, now they put out an ATT thats the WRONG COLOR.
How hard would it have been to repaint it, like they did the battle droids, or cast it in another color or whatever it is they do?
And people wonder why collectors are getting fed up with the hobby..

I knew it was going to be the exact same color as the EP1 version, but I also thought it would have been painted red or a dark brown color. It would have blended in nicely with the Geonosian environment, but I guess we'll all have to suffice with the brown version.
It's still cool though, and I'm glad my wife picked up one for me. ;D

i picked this up this past weekend and it is sweet, opened it up as soon as i got home, 9 hrs after buying it so with that i can say i was very excited when it was complete.

It could be an exclusive dimetrodon, but I think that Target and Kmart might be getting them too.
I've seen this 3-4 times now and am tempted to get one. I do already have 4 of the original version though.
