Did anyone see Yoda on MTV tonight? I didn't see it, but my wife was watching the movie awards and Yoda came on it. Here's how my wife described it...
"Yoda was accepting an award for something like best something, and he made a speech and was flying in the air. Then he busts out with a 'yo and to all yall people, your way I can do it, peace to my homies' or something crazy like that. Then he said force it may be with you while worshipping the queen, latifah...."
I wish I had seen it!

I'm hoping someone will post a clip of thi soon. I was flipping between MTV and the Stanley Cup and I missed it
-
HEY!!! The MTV Movie Awards are airing for the 2nd time right now (10:45pm CST), and that Yoda scene is supposedly coming back on soon. Turn on MTV!
-
I JUST SAW IT AND IS WAS HILARIOUS!!!!!!!! ;D
Yoda hovered onto the stage via CGI to accept the award for best fighting scene (which he greatly deserved by the way), and he was giving his props to all these Star Wars characters and George Lucas. Then he was talking some funny schtuff (too much to remember). Damn, I just wish I could have remembered it all, but I'm just in shock after what he said.
All I can say is this... to anyone who HASN'T seen this yet find out when MTV is going to air this again and tape it. It's well worth seeing!

Did nobody else here see this? I can't believe this isn't the talk of Watto's right now. ???
-
thats because most people probably don't care.
i didn't
but all my friends said it was totally ridiculous.
MTV has been going down lately IMO
but if it airs again...and i'm sure it will as they can't show pop videos all day... then i will see it. :)

I absolutely HATE MTV! There's not one show on there that I would consider to watch on it. But, my wife (who happens to love MTV) told me to turn the TV on to see Yoda do his thing. I turned it on, and there was Yoda talking away to the audience. I thought the Yoda scene was awesome and hilarious. Guess you would just have to see it though to know what I'm saying here.

I caught it last night. As with the prequels, the hype surrounding the presentation was bigger than the event. Yoda's just too darned hard to understand and the whole gimmick seemed forced, no pun intended.
I'd have rather seen a clear distinction between Yoda the Character and Yoda the Actor. Put him in appropriate attire, black t-shirt, leather pants, do SOMETHING with his hair. Keep the voice but let him speak normally. Jennifer Garner didn't show up as Elektra, why should Yoda show up in costume?
Weak. George is in a rut.

I haven't seen it yet. I don't get MTV up here on my stations. Much Music is showing it here tomorrow night so I'll have to set the VCR for it. Same for you other Canuckleheads. ;)

If you go here:

Hey, that worked for me Scott. A little grainy but it came through OK. Funny!
-
Gollum was funny! Crude, but totally in character. I need to see the rest of that acceptance speech.
-
Did you get to see the whole thing??
I get the first 5 sec. and then a Teco Bell commercial???
You?

I thought the Yoda thing was pretty funny. I watched the whole show actually, and most of it was pretty good. I really liked when Keanu came out and wouldn't say "Whoa"...so they had Andy Richter say it for him.
I don't know if anyone heard this, but when Keanu was about to announce the winner for best movie, a couple of people in the crowd shouted "WYLD STALLYNS!"
That was hilarious.
-
I got the hole thing Scott. It ends with the Queen Latifah thing then he flys off the stage. Just a liitle jumpy in the sound & grainy.
No Teco Bell commercial. ;D
Gollum was funny! 8)

Oh well... mine won't connect at all now. I just keep on getting error messages.
Damn :(
I'll try later, maybe its a server thing.

The window came up & asked what connection speed you wanted. I picked DSL. I have seen it 3 times now & it does not ask for the conection speed. It was saved so you may have to reboot to set it back. Just a thought. I'm also on Telus ADSL.
-
I saw it, but really wasn't paying attention. I'll probably catch it again during one of the hundreds of repeats MTV shows. I fell asleep so I missed Gollum, which I want to see now.

Scott, on that link you gave, scrool down to the Outragous Moments then click Yoda Acceptance Speech.
Yoda Acceptance Speech (http://www.mtv.com/onair/movieawards/ma03/clips/)
Its under the Highlight Clips section. (Show Highlight Video) on left side of screen.
I just saw the one you mentioned doing a search on google. It was under the Best Fight, Yoda versus Christopher Lee. Wrong one. That just gave you a short fight scene & Taco Bell commercial. Go with the one above.
Gollum's Acceptance Speech is there too.
-
WOW, that was a lot of effort, but I finally got the darn thing to play...
Was kind of funny, the funniest part I thought was when they start to play the music, and he says "play off Yoda, no one does"
Funny stuff, but I agree it could have been funnier if they had Yoda totally out of character or something.
Thanks for the tips Dale,
Scott

I liked how he thanked Steve Guttenberg. That was so random.
-
That was funny as hell ;D Personally I'm glad they didn't do Yoda out of character. I think that would have been a little lame
-
Yeah. They did Gollum the same way. In Character, but also kind of "Hollywood" and I thought it worked really well.
Still, the defining moment of the night was hearing people heckle Keanu with lines from Bill and Ted.
That was just too cool. Did anyone hear the guys saying "EXCELLENT!"
I loved it.
