« on: June 16, 2003, 12:01 PM »
I no longer have the space or desire to collect two of everything, so I am selling my boxed collections of Action Fleet and Star Wars vehicles. Everything looks to be in fantastic condition, and I'd say it is MIMB, unless otherwise noted:

Saga '02-'04 / Selling Part of My Collection, Need Advice
« on: June 16, 2003, 12:13 AM »
I think most of you know I collect two of each of a lot of stuff. I've decided I no longer have the desire or space to continue collecting two each of as much as I do, and Im cutting down to strictly figures. As such, I am considering selling my MIMB collection of vehicles, and would like advice on a fair asking price for the lot, there are a couple of POTJ items in here, but its mostly Saga and I didnt think there was a need for two posts asking the same question. Here are the items (everything MIMB unless noted), everything is also dusty, but not to the point of damaging the products and can be easily wiped off:
Saga TIE Bomber
Saga Dagobah XWing w/ R2
Saga Landspeeder w/ Luke
Saga Jedi Starfighter w/ Obi Wan
POTJ Snowspeeder
POTJ TIE Bomber (minor surface scratches, just less than M)
POTJ ATST/Speederbike (this is slightly less than NM condition)

And since the Action Fleet forum doesnt get a lot of action (pun definately intended ;) ) Ill go ahead and ask about some of my Action Fleet collection as well:

Once again, all MIMB unless otherwise noted:
TIE Advanced
XWing
Millenium Falcon
Solar Sailer
Naboo Starfighter
ATTE
ATAT
Snowspeeder
Republic Gunship
Republic Assault Ship
Jango Fett's Slave 1
Imperial Endor Pursuit (Target exclusive)
Dune Sea Ambush (Target exclusive)
Mos Eisley Encounter (Target exclusive)
Tatooine Droid Hunter (Target exclusive)

I've pretty much lost the desire and space to collect two of each of these, so I was wondering what you thought a fair asking price for the lot would be?

Also have Galoob boxed:
XWing
YWing
Sandcrawler
ATAT
TIE Interceptor
Shuttle Tyderium
Slave 1
ATST/Landspeeder KB Two Pack
Classic Duels XWing/TIE Fighter
Classic Duels Millenium Falcon/TIE Interceptor

Same deal, fair price for the lot?

Saga '02-'04 / Cleaning Figures
« on: June 9, 2003, 05:07 PM »
Well generally my stance on this has been preventative; dont let my figures get dusty, and I wont have to clean them. Unfortunately, for as many air filters as I have, it has come time to clean my figures. It took nearly a year for them to get noticeably dusty though.

So, how do you clean your figures? Do you simply whipe them off? It seems like youd need something a little more proactive. Obviously you dont want to damage them, but a simple gentle dusting isnt going to get all the dust off. I washed off my Unleashed collection today under cold water, and am now air drying them. It looks to be going ok so far, with no water sploches.

What other methods would you all suggest? Maybe I should put everything behind glass ;)

Watto's Junk Yard / Maybe he's in Episode 3, or Daredevil 2
« on: June 4, 2003, 10:05 PM »
Read the title:

Star Wars? Auction

I realize its a clever way to get listed in multiple popular searches, but this kind of crap gets on my nerves.

Maybe when it comes time to sell my extra loose Kamino Jango Fett figure, I can list it with a title "AFA 100 Gem Mint Vlix Droids Figure Fett". Because going by precedent, as long as there is at least a brief mention of the product, you can put whatever you want in the title of your auction...

The helmet is wicked cool though...

Watto's Junk Yard / Six Feet Under: Season Finale w/ Spoilers
« on: June 2, 2003, 01:08 AM »
Anyone else here watch the show? Im a huge fan!

I actually found this season overall to be kind of disapointing, and mostly because of Lisa. I never liked her character like I liked the rest of them. Needless to say, after the season finale tonight, I'm quite happy! Even though I didnt really care for the season in general, I thought the finale was absolutely superb, maybe the best episode of the series.

I loved Claire's trip to the graveyard, and her meeting Lisa and her baby in the mosoleum. It was a great moment when she met her old boyfriend from Season 1.

The direction they are going with Rico is fantastic, and I hope they spend more time with his problems with Vanessa's sister.

As Ive talked about for so long, I am planning on renovating my Star Wars collection rooms into rooms with a specific Star Wars theme. I changed my mind from the Hoth areas (maybe Ill use this later though), and for room number one I've decided to apply a Star Tours theme.

Today I've been designing one of the shelving units that will go into the room. This unit will serve as a loose figure display area. If Im happy with how this first shelving unit turns out, I will apply the same design and theme to the rest of the room.

My father and I will be building this together, and because he can never understand my drawings, I've built a scale model to show how I want this first unit to appear. I've also taken some photos to show all of you! :)

Here is the photo of the entire scale model, please dont pay attention to the alternating colors on the shelves themselves, that is just from boredom. However, on the bottom "platform" I did use seperate colors to show different heights of wood. Hard to explain, maybe the picture will explain better:

The second photo shows a comparison picture with a scene from Star Tours (I borrowed the photo from startours.bejedi.com, I hope you dont mind Kris)

As you can now see, I will be using a grating for the central area of the platform, and then will apply the decor and themes as I've noted in the picture.

If you have any questions, please ask! If you have any feedback, please sound off! If you have any ideas I'd love to hear them!

Thanks!
Adam

Star Wars Universe / Star Wars and Earth
« on: May 30, 2003, 10:20 AM »
Ok, if you've ever seen Star Trek, you know that all of this takes place in the future as related to Earth, and it plays a pretty big role in the Star Trek universe

My question, does Earth exist in one form or another in the Star Wars universe?

Watto's Junk Yard / Yet Another Video Game Movie
« on: April 16, 2003, 06:25 PM »
I think all I have to say about this entire debacle is.... "meh".

Come one, come all and lay witness to yet another superbly craptastic video game movie! This time, based on the 36DD fighting game (edited) also known as the Dead or Alive series. While the quality of the video game series is a moot point, what isn't totally invalid here is that fact that somehow yet another video game is being transformed into a movie:

http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=topNews&storyID=2526046

All fanboy jokes aside, I just cant help but laugh at the fact that the company that created the Resident Evil movie is not only still in business, but is also creating more video game movies. And the best part, not only will this revolve around the fighting women, but it will also contain bikini babe volleyball scenes, as a tribute to Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball...

Im a huge video game fan, and yes I will admit, I own both Dead or Alive 3 and DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball for XBox. And, all jokes aside, the games do have their own merits, and they do provide a decent amount of gameplay. Sure, the entire purpose of DOA XBV is to buy your women more naughty bikinis and swimsuits, but at its heart is a very decent volleyball game. And since I hate the sand and sun (unless it involves Tequilla), this is a great way to get in some imaginary volleyball from my nice dark air conditioned room. My point is this though; THEY'RE MAKING A FREAKING MOVIE ABOUT THIS!

Ah, I feel better.

Modern Classifieds / For Sale: LEGO Clone Building Event Kit
« on: April 14, 2003, 01:03 PM »
This is a set that is very near and dear to me, unfortunately I am in need of the cash, and it has to go.

Here is what is for sale: This is a LEGO Clone Building Event set from the WalMart Jedi Training Academy event held in May of 2002 to celebrate Attack of the Clones.

You get:
150 complete LEGO Clonetrooper minifigs (this comprises one complete kit, which is very hard to come by)
150 LEGO blasters for Clonetroopers (each is made of one black loudhailer and one 1x1 transparent light blue plate, the same as the blasters with the AT-TE set)
1 "LEGO Clone Building Event" event box. This box is what held the pieces, and has a clonetrooper helmet shaped cutout in the top. You were supposed to reach down and grab pieces, and see how many clones you could assemble in 60 seconds. This is what makes a complet set hard to come by. Even though they weren't supposed to, many stores gave away Clonetrooper minifigs as prizes if kids played the game.

Here is an older picture, please note that the green baseplate is not included, but a larger grey baseplate, greate for displaying all of the figures, is included. The box is in either very good near mint condition or mint condition, Im no grader. Also note, while they are not pictured, the blasters are included:

I am selling this entire kit for $750.00, which basically comes to $5.00 per figure. I realize the price is high, but it is less than what I had to pay to complete it, and it is still reasonable for a very rare complete set from this event.

Please email me at adamclowe@earthlink.net if you're interested.

Watto's Junk Yard / Futurama DVD
« on: March 25, 2003, 04:40 PM »
Just picked this up, havent had a chance to watch yet. Im wondering about something though, why is this reffered to as "Volume 1"? Is it not the entire first season or something? Everything up until now has been in season formats. The Family Guy set coming out is also called "Volume 1" but below that title is "Seasons 1 and 2".

So just how many seasons does the Futurama DVD account for? It has the first 13...
