College Hockey USA Today Pre-Season Rankings (http://www.insidecollegehockey.com/5Polls/0405/otherpolls.htm)
The Gophers are only ranked #7? BAH! >:(
WCHA has 6 teams in the top 15... it's going to be a good year!
Who needs the NHL anyway?

INCH Power Rankings (http://insidecollegehockey.com/5Polls/0405/polls_0312.htm)
Go go Gophers, watch 'em go go go!
Gophers ranked #1 and off to a great start! WCHA is represented pretty well with five teams in the top eight! Very nice! 8)

Yeah they had a great weekend mopping up on Michigan and Michigan State. I didn't expect this from them after losing Vanek (who should have stayed with the NHL bullcrap going on) but they've been doing swell

WCHA tourament is this weekend...
WCHA Bracket (http://insidecollegehockey.com/6History/wcha_05.htm)
#3 seed for the Gophers after a pretty good regular season.
Looking forward to watching the Gophers make yet another run for the NCAA title in April. ;D

They seem to hit their stride late in the season. Hopefully they can get on a hot streak.
UMD had a disappointing season after almost winning the championship last year.

NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey bracket (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/news/story?page=05menshockeybrackettrue)
Gophers end up with a #1 seed in the west after a diappointing performance in the WCHA tourney. :-\
Kinda fun that the WCHA is a powerhouse again this year, offering up 3 #1 seeds (UMN, Denver CC) as well as a couple others.
Hope the Gophers can get on another hot run through the NCAA tourney this year. :)

Bad weekend last weekend but they should be pumped for the NCAA's. Its been a good college year here all around as the U has been pretty good in Football, M and W Hoops and M and W Hockey. :)
-
Maine will not be easy for them. The Gophers could lose easily the way they've played lately. They need to pick it up now if they want to last another round. We'll see if they deserved that 1 seed.

Spent the afternoon at a bowling alley for 1 of the nephew's B-Day parties, so I had alot of time to watch a few of the games today.
Bemidji St. played a great game too bad they couldn't knock out Denver! Great game between the Gophers and Maine, wasn't sure the Gophs could pull that one out, Hope they can make it past Cornell to see a showdown with ND!
And congrats to the Lady Gophers Ice TEam too - return to the National Championship game to try to defend their title!
Good day for MN Hockey! Who needs the NHL, eh?
:)

Good to see 4 WCHA teams in the Frozen Four. I guess those eastern teams aren't so hot this year. The MN- ND game will be a fun one to watch.
-
Congrats to the Gophers for a gret year...
Sure, they didn't beat ND, but they made it to the Frozen Four again this year, a great accomplishment.
And props to Denver too, dang they kicked CC's ass. Five power play goals on ? :o
It's going to be tough for ND to beat them...

No doubt, only bad thing is they had to lose to the damn Sioux :'(

I don't know if anyone else watched it, but the last 1:20 of the Men's Frozen Four Championship game was unreal. That has to be one of the worst choke jobs I've ever seen in college hockey.
Giving up two goals in the final 60 seconds and then losing in OT? :o
-
I lost interest after Bemidji State lost.

That was one of the biggest choke jobs in sports not just college hockey.
