Title: Rebel Pilot Helmets
Post by: Scott on March 19, 2004, 03:30 PM
I bought 4 Dutch Vanders, looking for more too and I also bought about 20 Luke's back in the end of POTJ Clearance bonanza at Target ($1.24 a figure) In thoughts that I would paint the Generic White/Blue

I did about 3 or 4 and gave up, its really hard to do...the details are so small that it looks sorta crappy

ErikStormtrooper has stickers you can put onto helmets...still need to try that

 http://www.erikstormtrooper.com/stickersheet.htm

Hobbie also uses the same helmet as Dutch so keep that in mind.  When someone finally does do a head swap, I'll be interested in the results.

Also (one last thing) I tried Wedge's helmet on Gold Leader the other day...doesn't work

So...anyone have any tips on making Rebel Pilot Helmets...
Anyone done head swaps with Gold LEeader yet???

Scott,

You know the water-transfer decal paper you get with like a model car or whatever?

They make that paper and a solution that you can spray on it to waterproof the final decals.  It's MUCH better than stickers.  Very cool stuff...  It'll look like a Hasbro piece when you're done.

Can you Ink Jet print to those?

There's a special paper for inkjet actually, and a "sealant" you buy that you should spray on with an airbrush, but you can thin it and brush it on too.  Looks real top-notch actually.

Bare Metal Foil should sell it if I recall.

Yup...

I took the POTF2 Rebel Fleet Trooper's helmet off...Put a Wedge Helmet on it to cover up the open top...and stuck it on Dutch's Body....

Looks really good actually.

DV's peg hole is VERY small though....so you will need to mess with the peg.

I'll post a pic sometime.
