Title: Target Bounty Hunter Pack - "Hostage Crisis"
Post by: Jesse James on June 29, 2010, 04:24 PM
As we predicted on our front page recently, Cad Bane's fishy fellow Robonino will indeed be getting a figure this year!

Click to head out to the front page and check him out!

Pretty slick looking, with a lot of gear for his backpack.  I like that.

yes.

Yes!

YES!!!

 ;D ;D ;D

I loves me some Robonino! He came out so great! They definitely did not skimp on accessories.

Here's hoping we see this before Christmas, I need at least 3 for my Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil montage.

Nice - McMetal is right - they certainly didn't skimp on the accessories for the little guy.

There's something that seems "off" about the Ki-Adi Mundi figure though, I'm not sure what it is...

It amazes me that these finished, ready to sell figures can continually pop up on ebay before Hasbro can be bothered to get around and announce them.  They must have green-lighted this figure like a year ago.

Probably even a little longer than that really.  They have had this stuff planned and just aren't willing to let it slip till the conventions, which this year they have extra duty with C5...  THey're just trying to hold onto as much as possible to spread out over 3 major events...  It's easier in a non-celebration year I'm sure.

It's a pretty good figure! Forsure will look great with Cad Bane and Aurra Sing.

As for Ki-Adi Mundi, I agree that he does look somewhat strange. I like, though, that he's getting articulated knees - almost all Jedi figures thus far (with the exception of few) have no leg articulation.

Looks like this set has Robonino, 2x Blue Commando Droids, another figure and a DVD with CW episodes.

Turk Falso is the other figure  ;)

This is a definite get for me, assuming it's not exclusive to Wal Mart. Wal Mart Canada never gets exclusives. Anyone know where it's home will be?

Well that wraps that up then.  :)  Odd mix of figures.

The only figure I'm really interested in here is the Weequay dude. he looks well-sculpted.

Well, I'd like the Weequay guy too, but I nabbed Robonino off ebay recently not realizing he'd come part of a set.  Hmm.

I don't even remember Commando Droids from that episode. What about Todo 360? Would have been a perfect home for him.

I'm guessing they were just less expensive pack-ins to throw in there...  Part of me very vaguely recalls Bane having some Commando Droids, but honestly I don't recall what, when, or where he did.  I'm just chalking them up to less expsensive pack-ins in the set, to give it some value and make some stuff people wouldn't mind having extras of.

Kind of like the trooper repacks in the Force Unleashed sets and whatnot.

The Commando droids *do* appear at the beginning of the episode (in droid form), but, at Cad Bane's command, they don Royal Guard armor from the guards they kill.

As for Todo 360, well, I really want him too, but he doesn't appear till Season 2. "Hostage Crisis" is the last episode of Season 1.

Thanks, I figured I had it all mixed up in my head. Some of those EPs kinda blur together after awhile...

Or is it Shahan Alama?   I thought Turk was part of Hondo's crew...

I really like Shahan Alama's robotic arm. It makes him a whole lot different from the standard, recycled Weequay models that Filoni and the gang probably use over and over again. ::)

Doesn't look like he has knee and ankle joints though - I was kinda hoping that he did so I could put him at the controls of a second pirate speeder bike. Oh well....

Actually, after a closer inspection, you'll notice that he actually does have knee articulation! It's very well hidden, you can see the ball joint just below the knee. I'm not so sure about the ankles, though. I'm surprised he has knee articulation, most TCW figures don't have any articulation below the waist.

New boxed images of this and the Hidden Enemy Packs surfaced today.

Clicky to check it out...

Not the best shot of the Hostage Crisis Set, unfortunately.  Still, this has to be a very anticipated set for CW collectors.  Two Bounty Hunters knocked out from the episode.  Pretty neat.

Awesome...hoping to see these 10/1 as indicated at SDCC. Probably wishful thinking, but it would be pretty cool to have some new toys out with the premier this week and all.

I was a "meh" on these before, but I just might get the "Hostage Crisis" set. I already have enough clones.

Will these be out 10?17 too?

I would think so, but that might make too much sense. They all pretty much hit at once in Canada, and I can't see why Target would want to stock their TVC exclusives but not their TCW ones.

I just read on JTA that both the Hoth BP's AND the Geonosis sets have now been spotted at Target in Philly. So it seems logical to assume we would start seeing the 4 TCW exclusives (2 2-packs and 2 BP's) any day now.

I'm already starting the Hunt for these today.

Found the battle packs and two packs today at a Minnesota Target- I picked up the Crisis pack- not a bad looking set of figures, although $25 does seem high for 4 figures when 2 are duplicates.  :-\

Anyone know what the DPCI # is for these two battle packs?

I thought that was the number for the Vintage Figure Collector Pack...

According to Target.com (http://www.target.com/Bounty-Hunters-Hostage-Animated-Episode/dp/B003KRJ70O/ref=sc_qi_detailbutton), the 2251 is for the CW packs

And that's unique to their exclusives, is it not? The regular Battle Packs have a different DCPI I believe.
Title: Re: Target Bounty Hunter Pack - "Hostage Crisis"
Post by: Jesse James on October 12, 2010, 07:36 PM
Yes.  DPCI's for regular stuff don't jive with the ones for exclusives under most all circumstances.
Title: Re: Target Bounty Hunter Pack - "Hostage Crisis"
Post by: Pete_Fett on October 12, 2010, 10:14 PM
Yeah - they are a totally different DPCI number than the regular battlepacks and they are also a completely different size box. So it's not even like you could confuse the two.

I tried to put Shahan at the controls of the Pirate Bike and unfortunately, he doesn't work with the vehicle.

So I will be limiting my purchase of this pack to the two I already have. Unfortunately, I really like the Robonino figure, too bad they just didn't put him on an individual card....
